    Dupers

lol anyways, if they really were that obvious on duping just ban them, but there are tons of ways of duping that can go unnoticed, if they don't abuse it, it can be unknown to the admin completely

    Need some tips.

nope downloading it at someone elses house will work man, sorry to say.
  4. As with every game out there, there are things that are looked down on. I am of the opinion that everything is valid so as long as it's not abused, and as such, I compiled a list of tips of things you can do to survive easier that are considered lowly to do by the community and therefore are often left in the dark, leaving many new players unaware of them. 1. Disabling post processing effects on the video options disables the blur caused by low blood, leaving you with a clear vision below 3000 blood (albeit desaturated) 2. setting high dynamic range to very high on video options, then setting gamma and brightness to maximum will allow you to see at pitch black night time without night vision goggles. 3. Recruit servers allow you to see the range to your crosshair point if you scroll your mousewheel while having a main and secondary weapon or while looking through binoculars with a main or side weapon. It will also describe the item you're looking at. There are some servers in which this is not available, it depends on the server settings. 4. peripheral vision simulation places a white orb on the screen edges indicating a living being nearby outside of screen vision range. Scoping in the thermal vision of the l85 will further enhance the detection of white orbs, allowing you to spot easier. this setting may be disabled on some servers. 5. old bikes and motorbikes use a different vehicle database, and every time you get out of them, they repair completely without the need of vehicle parts. 6. If you somehow obtain a radio, you have enabled hit markers, as each time you hit another player, he will call a blue on blue (friendly fire) on radio, allowing you to know if you hit him or not (this might be disabled in some servers. 7. loot spawns on designated piles if there is a player within 30 to 120 meters from it, and if there is nothing else in the pile, if you find a gigantic depot of trash you can pick everything up and fill a zombie with it, walk around for 10 minutes not closer than 30m and no farther than 120m to cycle the loot and obtain fresh new stuff. doesn't work for helicopter crash sites, and the loot spawn rate depends on server performance. CORRECTION: zombies spawn within 200m but loot only spawns if you approach to 120m. 8. low pine trees hide you from zombies, running into them will allow you to lose them easily. Similar thing happens when you enter a supermarket, as the entrance is covered with an invisible wall. As long as zombies can't see you and you're not making a lot of noise, you will lose them, running around a small building and losing sight of them seems to work equally. 9. Hero skinned players run 10% faster, and they will completely fill up half empty magazines on relog. 10. pressing P ingame shows you a playerlist, works in every server. 11. to access gear inside a vehicle, press m, then select units, then your name, then press on gear 12. pressing I ingame shows the server info and a scoreboard with zombie kill count, useful if you want to check your kill count without opening debug. some servers have scoreboard disabled. it does not show current players but rather a leaderboard, to see current players, #10 13. A server restart unflips all vehicles, an ATV will completely explode if flipped 180 degrees, but will remain as a container if flipped just 90 degrees. 14. Having a crappy PC will delay the rendering of road blocks and rubble in cities, allowing you to drive through a city safely at full speed. 15. you can press the respawn button during "setup completed, please wait..." 16. in order to remove a wire fence you need a toolbox and must look at the second stick at the right side of the front in which the original placer was looking to while placing the wire, if you manage to clip that stick inside a wall, the wire fence becomes unremovable. 17. a lot of wire fences will guarantee the creation of artifacting, allowing you to conceal yourself when running into the wire fence. 18. aborting right before hitting the ground if you are falling from a helicopter or a hacker who sent you up might be your chance to save your life. 19. DayZ commander allows you to track down people playing on servers by their in game name. Just go to the friends tab and add his/her name on it to track him/her down as soon as he/she joins a server. 20. reserved for steam overlay W key jamming, don't know the exact details on how it works, will need to research 21. smoke grenades are able to destroy buildings, supermarkets and churches are very weak and a couple smoke grenades will turn them into rubble, even better than barbwire, now loot can't even spawn. 22. a survivor or hero driving a vehicle will appear as a green orb and a bandit driving a vehicle will appear as a red orb instead of the normal white orb. 23. if someone spawns at the same position as a vehicle, the moment they move their mouse they will die immediately. 24. vehicle position is independent of vehicle gear, the moment the driver gets out of the vehicle, the position is saved as well as the status (fuel will reset to 0 upon restart) gear must be saved manually by using the save command 25. a tent on the ground can be picked up by multiple players at once, netting a tent for every player who picked it up, used to work for gutting animals, unfonfirmed on vehicle parts. 26. 3rd person camera can be used to peek around corners without being seen, simply hide on the end of a wall and look around on 3rd person. 27. fireplaces will eventually consume, putting a wood pile in will reavivate the flame.

Those things they never tell you.

bumping as I added a couple more tips
  6. check the wheels, damaged ones are slightly or very sunk into the ground, or are even missing.
  7. you can access gear at anytime by pressing M to open the map, going to the "units" menu and pressing on "gear"
  8. hmm I'm in a full european group whom are active almost every day of the week on a very convenient timezone for you, if you wqnt more info you can PM me
  9. this is inherently flawed, I might just as well drop everythin in the sea the moment I spawn. Sorry but I eon't feel indifferent if my 1 month camp gets wiped because the server had an error or the game glitched and stopped saving or a hacker wiped the entire map. in your opinion

Make zombies Randomly Kill in 1 Hit

yeah I mean, who survives a zombie virus that infects perfectly healthy people able to throw their washer out to form a barricade unless you were immune to the virus itself

    Playstyles in DayZ

scavenging is one of the most fun things I've done in dayz, hop onto an empty server, and you can just spend hourd and hours discovering stuff by simply looting places. for example, ever since I started looting, I discovered weapons such as the svd camo, the m16a4 acog, the m4a3 cco, all the machine guns, the m4a1 holo m203, the multi color flares and the hand grenades (oh the hand grenades), I discovered things I've heard from but never seen, such as ammo boxes, sand bags, I discovered that things like engine parts and main rotor assemblies are one of the rarest spawns (although nobody picks them up on hipop servers), and especially I discovered the technique of loot cycling, I've repaired tons of vehicles and learned to drive them, learned what is hazardrous and what terrains allow for what, and the very few human interactions are the most intereeting experiences I had. dayz really offers a lot even played as a single player game.

Get drunk and poison your mates.

poisoning canned food? unless it's radiation I see no way for an average joe not to see a hole in the can from which the poison was introduced

    Playing in a clan SUCKS!

not really, in my experience the longer the clan is setup and the longer each memeber has known each other, the more drama starts to arise out of completely petty things, such is the tendency of human relationships. I've been playing with a clan for 2 weeks now and had more than one tense moment with people I got along perfectly on the first days

    Playing in a clan SUCKS!

this is only your version of the story, and I will refrain of jumping into conclusions unless someone on your clan responds to this thread (more than once it happened). but if I had to contribute in any way, I'd say they didn't care for you due to other factors such as your general attitude or something that escapes my comprehension, but that thye weren't complete assholes without a REASON.

    Radio + laserfinder?

nah, all radios do now is activate a couple of voice commands such as "report postion" and all the replies as well as showing a friendly fire message when hitting another player in blue on the chat.
  16. hey, if you don't mind joining a rather big group, we have a lot of old people here, we are all UK based and the timezones will match, we use teamspeak and have our own rented public hive server, PM if you are interested.

    First time playing..damn shame

that's probably a duped body, not a player alive, he seems to be breathing and moving his arms slightly, but if you cannot kill it and can access his gear, he's considered dead

Those things they never tell you.

hmm a warning about this: you need to be in the sweet spot, sometimes you will run through a barricade and force it to spawn, with dire consequences
  20. most bandits are people who play alone and therefore have not enough manpower to do large scale operations of hoarding, I'm sure you'll see everything differently if you join a so called "hoarders" clan, my personal experience is that you will end up with camps so big that if someone discovers it they will feel put off on stealing stuff or blowing everything up, because not only are there not enough satchel charges, there's also too much stuff to carry by a single person, and too many vehicles to dedicate yourself into driving them away, knowing that they will come back to take it from you. Not to count the fact these will be in low pop unadvertised servers with active admins
  21. damn white font and mobile white background
  22. pussy I learned as a loner I had no chance to even conserve half of my possessions, how about you look for a group of people to play with?

Those things they never tell you.

hmm this actually explains a lot, thanks, I will update the tip
