Create a shortcut pointing directly to OA.exe without any launch parameters, then when you have launched the game, go to the expansions tab and unmark DayZ. After launching OA again you can play it.

Reverting ARMA 2 from 95660 to 95417
Jukez replied to TheColourAwesome's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Only if the beta changes the base version of the client. Like 1.62.xxxx -> 1.63.xxxx. Both 95417 and 95660 are 1.62.xxxx patches. I didn't have any problems reverting. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?137868-ARMA-2-OA-beta-build-95417-%281-62-MP-build%29 http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?138369-ARMA-2-OA-beta-build-95660-%281-62-MP-build%29 -
Commander - [Feature] Improved inital refresh performance (Now only using my hosted cached list of servers, instead of relying on gamespy at all on the client) A real buddy-list will be a neat feature :)

Reverting ARMA 2 from 95660 to 95417
Jukez replied to TheColourAwesome's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
You can revert using ftp://downloads.bistudio.com/arma2.com/update/beta/ARMA2_OA_Build_95417.zip, just run the .exe If you want to use steam overlay on Commander after this: Go to the ...\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta -folder, and copy the OA.exe file from there to the location: ..\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\ -
Use http://www.dayzcommander.com/ It uses it's own serverlist, that shows more servers than 6launcher (gamespy). By rightclicking the servers in Commander you can copy the server's IP/PORT and your friend can add that server to favorites, if both can't find the same server in the list. And it already has Friends option (tells where your friend is playing after server refresh), for easy use :)

Try this http://www.dayzcommander.com/ Go to the options, and select options: Use steam overlay AND replace beta exe. Then go to the versions tab, and update everything. Try to launch the game using the Commander now. If it wont work, go to the options again, remove the option "Use steam overlay" and try to run dayz using Commander again.

Dayz commander and arma 2 screen different versions? help matching it.

Btw made a suggestion to Commander thread for adding the option to revert patches using it. Would remove the hassle :) -

Jukez replied to 25Uniform's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
When new beta patch is out (newer than the bugged 95660) and you want to install the patch, go to the Commander options and enable steam overlay and "replace beta exe" and then it should work just ok. You can replace the exe manually with this patch also, as i described earlier, if you want to use steam overlay right away. -

Oh it's you again :) Don't follow my last post, but do this: Go to the ...\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta -folder, and copy the OA.exe file from there to the location: ..\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\ Commander updates that file automatically when you update using it (if the option is enabled of course). Now you need to do it manually, since you reverted manually. Edit. Or you can try this too: "Or try running arma without steam overlay in Commander." Edit2. When steam overlay is enabled in Commander, it runs arma2 from \arma 2 operation arrowhead -folder, since this is the only way to get the steam overlay working. And beta .exe must be copied to this folder, when steam overlay is used. If you don't use steam overlay, Commander will run arma from \arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta -folder directly. -

I suppose you are running arma with Commander and steam overlay option. Go to Commander options, and select the option that it replaces the beta exe automatically. Then update the beta from Commander versions tab. Or try running arma without steam overlay in Commander. The thing that's propably wrong is, that you have the beta installed (as Commander tells you) but commander doen't actually run the beta, since you have a wrong .exe in OA folder. -

No connection to Six Updater server

Installing betas is not enough. You have to actually run the beta .exe to play. As said, DayZ Commander is propably the easiest way to go.

Jukez replied to Ely_aka_Revenge's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
If you are using 6updater, try closing it from the backround when DayZ is running. 6uopdater caused those issues for me. Then I swithced to DayZ Commander. Edit. I only met 1-3sec freezes, not porting the character back. -
Dayz commander updated game to 95660.
Jukez replied to 25Uniform's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
The .zip contains an .exe -file. Should be OK if you run it from your desktop for example. It should install the beta files to the correct location. -
Dayz commander updated game to 95660.
Jukez replied to 25Uniform's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Propably because the latest beta has severe stability issues and it's adviced NOT to install it. http://dayzmod.com/f...es/#entry595370 Edit. Btw the beta patches are backwards compatible, so you should be able to join servers using 95417 with 95660. But since it's bugged, propably better to revert. :) -
Dayz commander updated game to 95660.
Jukez replied to 25Uniform's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
WRONG, you updated it using Commander. Commander doesn't update automatically. Anyway, you can revert using ftp://downloads.bistudio.com/arma2.com/update/beta/ARMA2_OA_Build_95417.zip -
Wrong, was doing some sniping yesterday. It was night and raining, and suddenly noticed my temp meter blinking. Had to make a fire to get warm again. Edit. The temp meter is not good in my opinion. Can't see any difference with the colours before it starts blinking. The meter should have clear colours so you could actually prepare for the cold before it starts blinking. (red-blue perhaps).

Definitely DENIED!

For the future, if you get messages about wrong cd key when installing new betas, just ignore the message and let it install.
