Well, Honestly people strive for self preservation. In this game that kinda is a moot point In Dayz you will die and you will get all your crap taken from you. Its just how the game is. So dont get attacched to your crap because it will part from you soon. -
The Hatchet is a great weapon. You have to reload it first. Yes, sad but true.

People in this game will act without hesitation or remorse because there are no repercussions to their actions. They know even if they die they just start over. In real life it would be totally different situation. Its a game most people act like ass hats. Just hang in there and find a group to play with. It gets much better.

Hey guys, as I have stated in previous posts I am very new to the game. Could someone explain how the item respawn works? Do they eventually respawn or once someone picks it up its gone? Seriously? No one knows..:/

You need to update your OPA to the newest beta version. I was having the exact same issue. You can get the patch here. http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php/
