If it draws in more female players then I support it. All us guys are starting to stink up the place. ;)

Guess I better add this guy to my "Do Not Trust" list...

Why should killing other players be a punishable act?

Bandits don't get punished, Survivors do...
Niblik replied to leblackdragon's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
In a different thread I read a reply from Mr Delicious that basically said: The best chance to get Rockets attention for a possible mod change is present ideas that work for both bandits and survivors. Requesting a change that only negatively affects one group over the other isn't likely to get much traction. -
Why we need MANY more zombies... and in the wilderness too
Niblik replied to LondonHyena's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This. I'm seeing the term used more and more in the Day Z forums. Guess what everyone' date=' its just another way of telling someone that you think they are a dick because they think differently than you do. Game challenge can be like arguing about which type of mustard you like. If someone likes yellow over grey poupon that doesn't make them a loser, it means that they like a different flavor than you do. At this rate the forums will end up like Eve Online forums... which hellped to drive me away from the game. [hr'] -
Looks like it might be prudent to wait a day or two for things to settle down before logging on. Good thing I have Diablo 3! ;)

The One, The Only: I HATE TEMP THREAD
Niblik replied to rocket's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It is a new feature being tested as part of the Alpha. I am going to wait a bit and do more testing before making a judgement call. -
* [FIXED?] Too many zombies for the Carebears to be able to play
Niblik replied to Landuin's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm with you, as soon as someone types"carebear" I stop reading their post and/or taking them seriously. If the zeds no longer spawn right on top of me and insta-agroo then I am a happy camper. If they also respawn slower BUT were as numerous as before that would be fine with me. Every now and then its good to be backed into a corner and fight with everything you have... -

I was on that same server and was a few miles away from the NW Airfield. I heard two HUGE explosions but couldn't see anything because I was too far away. Whatever it was, it must have been massive for me to hear it from that distance... -
Wildies vs Coasties. Which are you?
Niblik replied to dead ben's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I don't hang around the southern coast unless I died and I need to gather up fresh equipment. Once I have a good revolver and rifle I head straight north and away from all the griefing. -
less likely to shoot female survivor?
Niblik replied to alchemy1002's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Well, since I like girls, I would probably give them the benifit of the doubt. A good woman, who's got your back, is priceless. Even more so during the Zombie Apocolypse. Now, this being the internet, there's no saying who might be driving that "female" survivor... -
Would you shoot the unarmed person?
Niblik replied to _triumph_'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
What if he threw a smoke grenade on top of the wounded, weaponless player instead of shooting into the air? I feel dirty for even coming up with this evil idea... -
An open letter to the silent majority
Niblik replied to Satire (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I have to tip my hat to team Rocket. :) This crazy addictive mod jumped at me from out of left field gave me some truely nerve-wracking moments that I have never experienced in any other game. Considering that it is an alpha I'm impressed by how FEW problems I'm experiencing. I beta tested some pretty big games (Star Wars Galaxies, Age of Conan, Lord of the Rings Online) and they all had serious issues. So far what I have run into with Day Z is more like hickups. You are doing fine work, Rocket. I look forward to seeing what the next patch brings. -
My personal habit is to be cautious but courteous. I also have a written list of those that I can trust and those that I can't. A lot of bandits love to brag in open chat and it makes em easy to mark down under "Avoid and/or kill". I don't see a valid reason to be a prick even though its the end of the world. Now if they would only have some girl survivor models in this mod things might get even more interesting... So far, based on game chat and such, it seems like its strickly a boy's club out there right now.

It's known as griefing. Some folk get their kicks off of stepping on ants and those that can't fight back.

Why does this game have so many idiots?
Niblik replied to Kirvin's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I can understand his frustration, to be honest. As you said, its best to be a bit more abstract about this mod, but it sucks when you spend an hour gathering up supplies and some griefer snipes you from a roof just for kicks. -
The Layman's Guide to replying to posts containing Opinions.
Niblik replied to The Killing Joke's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Nicely put, OP. Its a bit depressing on the general amount of confrontation that you find in any forums (or God forbid, Xbox Live). Expressing an opinion as fact isn't the way to go, it only suggests that everyone else is wrong and that the original poster is somehow the only person that is correct. Trust me, you aren't going to win people over with that tactic. I've been in threads where posters were able to change my opinion about a topic. They did so by being respectful and not automatically dismissing my own opinions and thoughts. Confrontational posters convince me of nothing beside their general lack of respect of other people's thoughts. My final thought: Sure, you can always go bat shit crazy on someone in a forum in an effort to "win" the conversation. But should you? -
Unfortunately, some players have begun to set up shop with their sniper rifles at some of the random spawn points. This just happened to me 5 mins ago while I was still loading in. I knew that this would eventually take place but sadly, its started. Camping spawn points to kill helpless players is nothing but abuse. There is no chance to defend yourself under these conditions.

Yeah, its discouraging all right. Might take a break or focus more on filing bugs and ignore the social/pvp aspect.

Patch 1.5.7 and this being an Alpha and fucking zombie spawns
Niblik replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
I'm a bit torn here. While I do feel the numbers are a bit too high I also found that it felt a lot more like the end of the world when I snuck near a town and could see zeds shuffling along the streets and some crawling through the grass... all of them moaning and growling. Was like a moment straight from The Walking Dead show! Hats off to the Devs for making that moment possible. :)
