I heard that the North west part of the map is a bad place to go, if you wan't to avoid bandits. What is your experience with that part of the map? (North west airfield, Vybor, Stary Sobor and that kind of places places.)
-
So, i went into the city south of NWA, and even there i found two bandits who just fired a .50 after me the second they spotted me. To my luck, mey evasive moves saved me, and they didn't follow me, or just follow up with a second shot. I see the risk in that part now ^^

How populated is Green Mountain?
Tenderness replied to omgwtfbbq (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I heard the hares running around came from Green Mountain.. Who knows what they are planning? -
I would like to see these too, but DayZ is in alpha, meaning that it's nothing near done yet. (I believe everyone should be aware of that by now? -.-) I think the devs will get to it eventually :) As for now, i think they are trying to make servers more stable and stuff like that.

Gun nerf made the game more challenging
Tenderness replied to Helsing's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I havn't found any other weapon than a makarov in my current life, and it's really annoying. I hate it, and it's very hard to kill running zombies with it, but it has always been imho. I really don't hope the m1911 and revolver is just as hard to kill zombies with. (Moving ones, that is.) -
1st Person vs. 3rd Person
Tenderness replied to BuddyMcFriend's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I use 3rd person, and i find that kinda funny seeing as im really into the "simulating realism" or "creating an authentic world" aspects of the game. I do however not like first person in the game. Field of view, hearing and just the feeling when you walk will never be the same as in real life, and that's why i find first person too awkward and annoying to use. -
How do I retrieve bolts from crossbow?
Tenderness replied to Torothin's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
What about shooting a bolt into the wall? I picked one up earlier, and tried shooting a bolt into a wall, just to test the sight. I used two bolts, and couldn't retrieve any of them? They just dissappeared. -
Well people sure do agree when it comes to the dangers of that place. My latest character startet near Elektro, which i left with some nice gear. I then headed towards Berezino, but i didn't find much of use before i had to rush out again. (Market and inner city was crawling with bandits.) Im now allmost at NWA, but think i will just skip that, seeing as you guys find it pretty dangerous. What about the cities south of NWA? Vybor, Pustoshka and Zelenogorsk?

So sacrifice the masses to rule out a bit of evil.. Now that's never happened before...

After logging out with 10.8k blood, i logged in today, just to find that my aim wouldn't stop shaking. I have reached 12k again, and have played for 10 mins. or so. I heard the devs made anyone who dc'ed have their screen shaking for 5 minutes, after they log in.(To prevent server hopping and such.) Just don't know if this is true? I couldn't find any other threads on the subject, so just wanted to know if anyone has a reasonable explanation, so that it could otherwise be moved to bug reports.

Had a good run tonight! How was yours?
Tenderness replied to Seldrad88's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Crawled all my way into Berezino, to find mprphine at the hospital, so i just went out of the city again, seeing as i found a few other people well equiped. I could have taken atleast one of them down with 1 shot (Got the cz550) but didn't want to fend of zombies and anyone else who would have heard the shot. Went back into the woods, found a pig who gladly took a bullet, and i then logged off when i reached the industrial area southeast of Polana. -
Screen keeps shaking excessively.
Tenderness replied to Tenderness's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Ehh... Yes? What do you fill in your canteen? O.o -
Screen keeps shaking excessively.

No cold, so just... HAH, back at you... or something. -

I will try the Max Payne style :) My understanding of pain was that it came when you had lost alot of blood, down to 5-6k blood. But i guess people just clarified that for me, thanks ^^From the wiki, assuming they are correct, i see you guys points. Edit: "Pain is caused when the player takes damage, it has a chance to proc on any type of damage including, falling, Zombie hits or gun shot wounds" From the wiki, assuming they are correct, i see you guys points. -
Why is this advertised as a Zombie game?
Tenderness replied to SolarClipz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Thing is, it's not really a survival game if you blatantly run around shooting zombies. (Because that is your idea of a zombie survival simulator. Unless you walk into the city, without doing anything to avoid zombies, or get rid of them, you can't say that they "provide nothing to the game" When you learn to sneak around zombies, or just kill them efficiently, i don't think they would be your biggest concern anymore. Sad that noone knows though. -
I totally agree with you :) I even get the shaking hands too, after an encounter or something like that.

Ich on UK 119 Last Night
Tenderness replied to Gogster (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Scrolling through all the "THIS GAME SUCKS, I WASTED ALL MY MONEY" and "OMFG, I QUIT BCZ OF HACKZ/ALTF4/LOSING STUFF" threads, you do come across these threads that simply stands as some sort of chat? Don't know if this is any better though... -
Stay away from the hacker infested Russian servers...
Tenderness replied to ericdude88's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Why must you go around and start flamewars like this? xD -
The solution to Alt-F4
Tenderness replied to CongressmanAlexShrub's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
To be honest, ammo would be even more important to save if it was less frequently found. Don't you think that would make people do the disconnecting even more often, seeing as it will now take a longer time to actually get the gear? Not very clever solution to be honest. If something like this were to work, you would have to remove gear entirely -.- -
I have found the makarov even weaker now. It used to take a few shots, now it feels like i have to empty a mag in a zombie. Perhaps im mistaking?

What kind of landscape would you like to see in a DayZ stand alone game?
Tenderness replied to scouski's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Im afraid that no server would be able to hold that much data xD -

Lets see how many players in Dayz KoS, arright?
Tenderness replied to darkanima270's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I usually don't. I like to call out friendly and try to communicate with whoever i can't avoid or run from. I don't call anything out if im in the open and vulnerable to them though. Get behind a wall, start yelling out friendly. If i don't get a reply and just hear them moving closer *BAM* i'll kill them. Doesn't work so good if you don't have a gun though ^^ -

I find the current map very fitting for the game. It's not too much crawling in the cities, but you do have smaller towns not more than 15 minutes from each other. I think the whole idea of having big plains, possibly with some hills like we have in Cheranus to be nice. I do think the forests are needed too, otherwise it would not make much difference from a desert honestly. I guess a flatland map could be cool, but it would require a lot of buildings and/or forests. If the map is too open it would ruin most of the traveling and such. -
There is a lot of servers who are running on a time, different from their location. I believe the servers are doing this so daytime gameplay is possible during the night, but im not certain.
