general bugs I have noticed
Tenderness replied to vivithemage's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
So i take it you don't come to the forums very often? :) You ought to put this in the bug reports section. -
no need to go against alt f4 :-)
Tenderness replied to Nariquo (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Am i the only one who has a hard time reading OPs posts? Other than that, this thread seems pointless and dumb, sorry. -
People shooting unarmed people, why?
Tenderness replied to kitta's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You see, there are these dumbfuck cod-mindset bandits, who just want another fps. This is the kind that really likes unarmed players because it's so easy to get the kills. Then you will occasionally find these bandits who sometimes play in groups, and who doesn't even go to Cherno or Elektro. This is most likely because they want a challenge. This is the kind of bandit that will look at you for a while, check your patterns, see if you play aggressively or safely. This is the kind of bandit i like. They don't die as often either, probably because they don't just fire away, but actually manages to check several directions. This kind of bandit knows that this is not cod. -
Stupidest Ways to Die in DayZ
Tenderness replied to RainboWarrior's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I once died to a zombie that i hadn't noticed. I was using binocs to scout an area, but a zombie was for some reason pretty close to me, and startet running towards me. Instead of pressing 'b' to stop using the binocs, i accidentally hit 'v' putting down the binocs, doing the small step forward, just to take the binocs up again. Before this 6 second animation was over my leg was broken and i was lying unconcious being eaten by a zombie... I was pretty mad at myself. Also, i don't have binocs on 'b' anymore... -
Ehh.. Trying to keep your good stuff from the bad guys, without just sitting beneath one rock all the time? It seems plain, and i guess it is, but i like it ^^

Are zombies too easy now? (because it's so simple to hide from them)
Tenderness replied to zemalf's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I don't like the part about infected sprinting at enormous speeds, it just seems a bit exaggerated compared to what a rotten body would be able to do. I don't like when they happen to spot you from too far away, but that has been better adjusted with standing/crouching/crawling. I do like the idea about infected not just giving up on chasing their 'target' so when they do spot someone, it should be a lot harder to loose them. This could be done by them not just walking inside buildings, though I do still think one should be able to hide by running around a corner and standing somewhere safe, and then not making any noise. The infected should be designed so that it really does take time to sneak past them, because right now I only shoot them for fun when I feel like killing something, other than that, you just have to stay out of a sight when closer than 15meters. Edit: Don't speak for 90% of the community please. I do like sneaking around, because i do feel a strong case of paranoia and what-not. They are pretty crazy when it comes to running, but I'm afraid you can't do a whole lot about that. Fighting them is just about shooting first actually. The mod is supposed to be extremely hard. -
Wait, what is this?! Are you actually asking in a proper manner, instead of just yelling out how sucky it is of the devs to not stop the hacks?.. Thank you good sir! :) My first long life also ended in a pretty sad way, but every time you die, it's easier to start again, and the mod doesn't really get more boring when you start over! I don't know how to avoid the hackers though, seeing as there isn't really anything specific you can do. The best thing to do when you notice something like that though, is to just press alt+f4. It's normally not considered a nice action, but i believe people find it acceptable against hackers.

I have no idea, so my post in this thread is actually pretty useless. I do post however, because i find your thread somewhat missplaced. Why are you posting in this part of the forum? Please, enlighten me.

Running 20 kilometers a day from deer stand to deer stand. Spying cities, stalking players, killing goats, talking to zombies, trying to talk to players, driving around, fueling cars, driving some more, playing with friends, dancing around in camp with friends, looking for double rainbows, dodging bullets, filling waterbottles and everything in between.
-
I havn't died a whole lot to bandits so far. I learned to just hide and stalk pretty quickly, so that's pretty much what i do. I don't like sitting in one place sniping, it's not hard after hitting the first shot anyway, besides, i don't like killing players just for fun.

So, how many of you that play girl characters...
Tenderness replied to a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Nope, not at all XD -
So, how many of you that play girl characters...
Tenderness replied to a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Honestly i do not know why i chose a female character. I am not a girl, but the reason behind the choice is actually unknown to me. I do however know that i am not a "sex starved virgin". I have played with both male and female, and there is no real difference. Most players are even so blind that they can't even tell the difference at range. -
Winchester or Lee Enfield? [POLL]
Tenderness replied to Dawn (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Even though they nerfed the noise on the Dinner Bell putting it more in line with the AKM and such, but i still find it to make too much noise, and generally less effective than the Winchester. I do like the Lee Enfield for sniping though. -
Dayz is more than just a game...
Tenderness replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
OH MY GOSH!! IT'S SO PRETTYYYYYY. Cool post. Then again, it is more than just a game. I believe it is at least. -
Hmm.. It's not a game. It's not done. At this moment you can't even tell what the finished mod would be like, seeing as it is in ALPHA. It's even stated how this mod is an ALPHA when you download it. PLEASE NOTICE THAT. I know people are posting this as I am writing my post, but people like you seem to be pretty slow at understanding.

I have never thought about servers being able to do something like this, but i don't think there is such an option, as turning all or just some vehicle spawns off. You ought to ask the question in the name of the thread, or at least put some more information about the question in the name. Read the "Read this before you post" thread please, it is a sticky.

My first encounter with hackers
Tenderness replied to virusofadown's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I don't see why this is a specific case of hackers? Even if they did hack, it wasn't anything more gamebreaking that what they could have done. I have yet to encounter hackers, and im pretty happy about that. You ought to change the font size and color if you want people to read your posts without getting annoyed. -
It's not like Rocket has the ability to write one line of code and BAM, no one will be able to hack or use scripts in any way. The problem is within Arma II and Battleeye. It has always been the idea to keep this game highly modable. I find it sad though, there is nothing i would wish more than having the hackers gone!

Hackers - A server Admin's viewpoint
Tenderness replied to gtok's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think it will be a lot of work to monitor it this way. I get your point, and i really like the idea though. -
Isn't this game just great?
Tenderness replied to Cyborg Ninja's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Cool story indeed! Would you mind getting of the forums now? -
Finding heavily armed dead bodies?
Tenderness replied to Andy31's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I once found a dude with coyote pack and all the stuff required to survive on your own. He was right in the middle of a town between Stary and Northwest airfield. I would have been more surprised and happy about my find if I didn't already have all the stuff. -
Where I Think Dean Might Have Gotten Some Of His Ideas For The Game..
Tenderness replied to xXxSlyWolfxXx's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Ehh.. I don't get why you call inspiration a "neat idea" Again, i don't even think I get the point of the thread. Let me guess, you just found out that a person can find inspiration in watching a movie, and now the entire meaning behind "inspiration" is a thesis of yours? Again, whaat? O.o -
Thanks For The Silver Platter...
Tenderness replied to Devmagic's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
That's one of the better suggestions in a long time on these forums. It's always something like "The zeds are useless, remove them" or "bandits are not what this game is about, remove it". I know that it's suggestions for two different aspects of the game "community and mod itself", but still something that people ought to think about a second time. -
I think I should hack this game
Tenderness replied to sostronk's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I noticed that beer is free if you just steal it from the supermarket. I noticed that the ones who can't afford it always does. Should i? Geez.... -
Humans are the enemy in DAYZ not the Zs
Tenderness replied to Kingsix (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Best solution to everything. Stay near the zombies. They are friendly enough once you can work your way around them. From that point on, all you have to do is shoot people you meet in the leg. They can't chase you, and you won't be the direct reason as to why they die... or something..
