Im 40 something and been sporting the hero skin since it came out. Bandit hunter since I started playing in mid May. I dont shoot on sight (and sometimes die because of it). I help new players and fresh spawns (and sometimes die because of that...). I have, however met quite a number of really cool people (because of that). Hope to see you on the coast!

Every one agrees script kiddies suck (I will not say hackers, because the proper use of the term hacker is not a malicious one). Second chances are deserved in some instances. A script kiddie deserves NO second chances. Why no second chance? First, you are an idiot, and a malicious one at that. Thats the most dangerous kind. You knew the risks of getting banned, yet still with little to NO knowledge of what you were doing still went ahead and tried to cheat. How do I know you are an idiot with little to no knowledge? You got banned, then got daddies credit card and bought a second key and got that one banned too. Sorry little buddy, You got yourself into this mess playing with fire and got yourself burned. Maybe next time you wanna cheat in a game, you'll think twice. Oh, can you please update the thread telling the story of what you did tell your dad on why even after buying a second copy you still cant play DayZ? Would love to hear it.

Battle eye will put itself where it needs to be. I did notice something about battle eye kicks for client not responding. Set in the server lobby until you see both battle eye initialized AND your battle eye GUID. Clicking into the server before seeing both messages seems to get me a kick within 15 minutes of play. Patience seems to work for me.

When I want to play armex or reg arma, I manually rename the @dayz folder to something else (usually atdayz instead of @dayz) and have a second shortcut to the arma exe file without the params dayz needs to launch on my desktop and use that. When I want to play dayz again, I just rename the folder back to @dayz. I dont use steam, so not %100 sure this will work for you.

Anyone can take stuff out of a tent, the thing about 'saving' tents is ONLY the char that placed the tent can change the contents of said tent and save those changes. When you die, the new char that you spawn is NOT the char that placed the tent, so the tent is not 'yours' anymore (another aspect of 'perma-death' and why staying alive is so important). It will be more important to stay alive when tents are fixed from 'refilling' the gear on server restart. The time tents stay on the server from last interaction (from anyone accessing the tent) I believe is set by the server admin. A tent will last forever as long as its accessed every once in a while (by anyone).

Last night me and some friends ran into a fresh spawn (we are known as BMG and we try to help new players learn the game and hunt bandits). The player we came across had no gear and we helped him gear up a bit, he then turned on us at an opportune moment. I have NO issue with that, as there was no scripting/hacking involved with our death. Was he a dick, was that a dick move, yes it was, but I couldnt bring myself to rage at it (was more mad it myself for my misplaced trust, but even then, I would do it again as Ive met alot of cool people NOT shooting on sight). Earlier that day (up at the NW air field) myself and a friend were just finishing up looting the airfield and were fixing to head out. Someone spawned into the hanger we were leaving and shot us in the back. THAT was a dick move that was rageable against. There is NO skill involved in that style pf play. We both sport hero skins (I have only two 'murders' both self defense), with many bandit kills over my play time since mid May). Raging against someone that kills you legit is silly, server hoping/scripting/hacking kills or other cheating is NOT cool in any way shape or form. The point of this game is staying alive, surviving. Look at tents. Most people dont have a clue about how they are supposed to work. The mechanic of tents is the person that places the tent can manipulate its contents (saving). When you place a tent you can save/pack up that tent any time you want. Once you die (perma death) that tent is no longer 'yours', the new char you spawn is 'another person' so he can not manipulate that tent. Thats an example of how people miss the point of the game.

I think people miss what the tent saving is all about. When you place a tent, it is 'your' tent and as long as the character that placed the tent is still alive, you can save just fine. IF you die, and respawn a new character, The "New" guy IS NOT the same guy that placed the first tent (even if it is still you playing). ONLY the char that placed the tent can save/edit contents/repack the tent. *EDIT* This is why it is really important for you to stay alive!

The only 'teleporting' that's not hacker related happens when you get stuck on the loading screen. There comes a disconnect form the server you're trying to connect to and the hive server. The hive sends your location to the server you're connecting to, but never gets a reply as to where you are. it gets confused so you just get spawned in a random place on the coast. Be patient, and wait a while for connect. IF you hard restart from setting on the loading screen, you WILL respawn in a random place on the coast with all your gear, so expect it. Any other tp'ing is hacker related.

Three times in 5 days, fix a thunder chicken, 25 minutes of flight and pilot gets battle eye kicked , two days later, fix the thunder chicken again and again pilot gets kicked. Tonight same scenario. But I think the battle eye error was script restriction 40 all three times... none of us hack or script, all hellis were legit spawned/fixed birds. Battle eye is NOT doing its job correctly in these instances.

What he is getting at (I think) is a concept that you find in table top roll playing games such as DND. Your player chooses an alignment, and the DM needs to ensure that the player plays to his alignment. A Paladin can not randomly kill innocents without there being serious repercussions, such as loosing his paladin bonuses and powers, where acting true to his alignment gains him his bonuses. Playing outside of a chosen alignment causes various issues (left to the discretion of the DM generally). Someone that just kills and kills fellow survivors would indeed have psychopathic issues that can manifest in different ways. This being a game takes out the "personal" (IRL feelings), so the CoD kiddies can just kill with impunity. Realism would dictate manifestations of paranoia and delusional effects, like hearing noises etc.

This problem is very sporadic for me. The last couple days I played for hours, today cant play for more than 5 minutes before I get the battle eye kick. A few days ago I had the same issue after playing for days, then all of a sudden battle eye not responding kicks all day. It doesn't make any sense, nothing changes (on my end). *edit* Everything is 'up to date/newest'. I have always waited for the server to complete the MOTD before I tried to join the game. I never waited to see the battleeye GUID (sometimes I would see it, sometimes not, never really paid attention) Today (with the BE not responding kicks)I waited until I seen the GUID message before joining the game (in the server lobby)and BAM, In with no problems.

Because I Like Rockets work so much, and know he is busy, I will give you 500% of your money back, that you spent on your DayZ purchase, to you (so Rocket doesn't have to bother and can work on the game instead). No No No don't thank me. I just gave you 5 times the amount of money you spent on DayZ! please, don't spend it all in one place! ***and for all the other ARL posters, I give to you the same exact offer***

Wow, for not being able to see a thing with all those artifacts, you sure were able to get some good gear. slammin'!

I have noticed the 'teleporting' thing happens only when there is lag going on and I try to change clothes "twice" rapidly. I also have an issue that happened twice, once with a gillie suit and once with camo. Both instances, when changing cloths, it just put me into regular civilian cloths (no camo or guilli) and when changing back only had 'civilian' cloths in my inventory. latest updates and latest hardware drivers.

Posted 30 July 2012 - 03:21 AM We found our Helo on Skalisty and it's all fine. But on our other server we repaired it too, we went to solnichny and fueled it up. Then our server restarted and it's on the Skalisty again and fully damaged, like we repaired nothing, although we were flying around and the helo was standing 15 minutes in front of the gas station and we SAVED it. Server Version is up to date. Newest beta and everything. Very sad, because all parts are gone now... good, We appreciate all the people that host the servers, but locking them out to keep the goodies yourselves is just plain wrong. Cheating if you ask me. Please post your server (along with every other server admin that locks the servers to try and hoard the loot) so that those of us that would like to have every aspect of the game fairely open to us, can. I would like to know what servers I can actually have chance on, and I'll stay away from the rest.
