  1. Just because you have artists and modelers it does not mean they are capable of debugging server/client architecture if you told them too. (Just because you can spray paint a car it does not mean you know how to replace the transmission) The Artists and Modelers will continue to do their job of creating assets for an unfinished project while the programmers work on the internal issues. Having them STOP releasing new assets would not fix the architectural problems any faster.
  2. I must have missed the part where they promised weekly updates.
  3. My internet is terrible and loses connection multiple times per session but as long as you rejoin the same server you incur no penalty. Deal with it.
  4. Fixing buildings that do not spawn loot currently and randomizing more of the civilian type weapons will help greatly in this regard. It shouldn't be Spawn -> Run to office, piano, archway building get weapon -> Get food and water -> go to airfield get milspec clothes -> return to coast to kill everything. The third floor office building should not ALWAYS have military loot, just like the first floor should not ALWAYS have food, just like the piano building should not ALWAYS have weapons. Make every building have a slim chance rather than having a high percentage chance at certain civilian buildings.
  5. Has avatar distinguishing Clip from Magazine, still can't distinguish from clip and magazine.
  6. Thanks man, great work. I really enjoy all the changes will hop on the experimentals as soon as it updates. Can't wait for expanded sickness, temperature, and hunting/cooking!
  7. Yeah and then everyone will be bitching because they want their cars to log out with them so they can protect them and never lose them. So many tears are coming.
  8. "Healing" also does not go away after becoming healthy allowing you to have: "Healing, Healthy, Stuffed, Hydrated, Energized"
  9. "I will quit if the rubberbanding isnt fixed" fixed "I will quit if the teleporting isnt fixed" fixed "I will quit if the .pbo exploit isn't fixed" fixed "I will quit if they don't start fixing bugs" lol
  10. Sorry I was under the assumption that you had some sort of issue surviving or finding loot. "Of course food and drink are easy to find on 2/40 servers. Join a real server and you might not be so pompous." I am just having a hard time understanding if on these "real servers" you have a hard time finding food and drink. This is a survival simulator first and foremost, if you cannot derive any type of entertainment by doing the best thing to survive then maybe you would have more fun in a game like Arma3?
  11. So you don't find it fun not finding loot but finding loot wouldn't be fun either?
  12. Join a full server and go north, quite easy to gear up when 30 out of 40 people are in balota-cherno-elektro. Small towns are gold mines if you actually want to survive and not TDM.
  13. Yup. I only go to big cities to kill or help people. I NEVER gear up in big cities.
  14. I'd like to watch a stream of the people who manage to starve to death.
  15. Do not swim towards the sun.
  16. I believe the update will be released by the time you return from Prague though.
  17. One good part about the delay is that most of the QQ'ers that are bitching about lack of flamethrowing helicopters have moved to different parts of the forum.
  18. If it only takes one day to implement new features you should email him how to do it!
  19. "representation of core pillars and framework" Check your dictionary so you can learn about what those mean. The money has NOT been there for at least a year. They have not made a dime off of DayZ until it released. Any money they made from Arma2 went towards the active development of Arma3. Once again DayZ will be in Alpha all of 2014, the creator said so before it was released and he has continued to say so over the last month. Expecting lightning progress is foolish. Here you go buddy: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/155089-is-it-worth-buying-dayz-standalone-yet-rocket-response/?p=1554128
  20. Project start? A game like Half-Life 2 was on a 5-year development cycle. They completely rewrote the code that interfaces the client, network, and server in a company a tenth of the size of Valve in only a year. What you play now is the FIRST semi-stable playable version of the core of the game, you are stress testing this architecture so that you can force bugs that a small development team would miss within it. Once they get it stable and optimize it they can roll out features that are probably already 90% complete. After the extremely successful launch in terms of sales they can now fund the future development of the game for several more years and expedite the roadmap. You wont see the results for another 6 months TBH and if you expect anything else you should just go back to playing something else in the mean time.
  21. What the developers say:“DayZ Early Access is your chance to experience DayZ as it evolves throughout its development process. Be aware that our Early Access offer is a representation of our core pillars, and the framework we have created around them. It is a work in progress and therefore contains a variety of bugs. We strongly advise you not to buy and play the game at this stage unless you clearly understand what Early Access means and are interested in participating in the ongoing development cycle.” Straight from the steam store page you bought it from, the developers have stated many times that this will be a YEAR-LONG development cycle for the ALPHA. Meaning things will move slowly and methodically so that they are done RIGHT and not just quickly.
  22. It's not perfectly true, and I am not an ignorant fanboy. I signed up to help test a product that was advertised as having very little content and sometimes being broken to the point of not functioning at all. I also understand that development team members have different jobs and skill sets. It is much easier to model and texture a shotgun and release it than it is to debug netcode and entirely new prototype server-network architecture code. If you have content done and functional you release it in the current stable environment rather than not release any content at all. You just don't press a big button that says "Fix Bug" and then push the update out. There are members who are capable of finishing the map. There are members who are capable of simple bug fixes. There are members who are capable of network architecture changes. These members are not like interchangeable lego bricks.
  23. This isn't an industry standard project. VR engine is something that isn't widely used through the industry, it has a very difficult learning curve. It isn't like hiring someone to work on Unity or Source. Sorry bro.
