  1. You probably just witnessed it wrong. You can, in fact, hold a flare, and you can shoot while doing it. You can also shoot while walking, but it is impossible to shoot while running. Arma II doesn't allow it. I don't see how you could even use hacks to do it. And you probably just missed him, since you had your gun on automatic.
  2. You can already give people a transfusion if you have a blood bag...

    Trip Flare

I like this idea. And maybe expand to other things, like claymores. Or be able to string together tin cans, so when something walks past it, it jingles.

    Picking up weapons?

If you don't even know how to pick things up, I recommend playing the actually campaign. Not only is it fun, but you will learn a lot about the game.

    Backpacks are for Carebears

I can understand that. But that's why you switch your handicap every few lives.

    Transportable AmmoBox

I think this is actually an interesting idea that should be discussed and expanded upon. The idea should be fleshed out to a true game mechanic. If anything, it is definitely a better idea that most that are tossed around these forums.

    Backpacks are for Carebears

The point is that you are giving yourself a handicap to make the game harder and more interesting for yourself. Like how I usually run with just a hatchet and a pistol/revolver. It makes it more interesting. Doesn't mean I'm going to play the game any differently other than that.

    Backpacks are for Carebears

I feel like if you're trying to play with no backpack, you're not going to be trying to get a car either.

    Backpacks are for Carebears

A friend of mine plays without using his backpack most of the time. By that, I mean he just forgets he has one and doesn't put stuff in it. I might have to try this at some point though. Could make the game more interesting. Edit: Jump off a building(or stand near a tree/rock/door/anything) and break your legs. Super hardcore mode activate!
  10. That's what happens when you try to use hacked stuff. Lesson learned here? Don't be greedy.
  11. Then go play Stalker. This game isn't supposed to be a recreation of Stalker. No one wants that. If you like the way Stalker did it, then go play that instead of whining about it. Also, if you don't like crawling around through towns, getting loot, then you don't like this game at all, because that is the core of this game.

    A proposal to fellow medics

I have been collecting items I can trade at the Freeside Trading Co. I might be able to get like 2-3 tents from it all. I will be happy to donate them to your cause.

What is it with American kids hacking?

Yes yes, we can all make ignorant, stereotyping comments, generalizing and villainizing a whole age group. Fixed my comment for your post.
  15. Couldn't a survivor, theoretically, drag all of the infected from a town to a single spot and place a bunch of wires or sandbages or something around them. In this case, the town would be totally free of infected and free to loot whenever you want.
  16. This is exactly what the hackers want, though. Don't give in. Besides, what most people seem to forgot, is that we aren't actually here to play the mod. We are here to test the mod.No, I'm not trying to give you some "it's just an alpha" excuse. It happens with every game. Whether it be a Beta, an Alpha or whatever, people forget that they are there to test, and not to play. Hackers allow the people at Battleye to improve their anti-hacker software.

What is it with American kids hacking?

Yes yes, we can all make ignorant, stereotyping comments, generalizing and villainizing a whole country. We can also make crazy claims that Canada is actually in Europe!

    A proposal to fellow medics

Sounds like fun. I'd be willing to help run supplies for you if you need it. And in-case you think I'm not trustworthy, I did try to help you out once, Fraggle. Someone else helped you first though. I'm not a real medic, but I have helped, or tried to help, three people who were injured. Two had broken bones and needed morphine, and I happened to have morphine on me. The third guy also had a broken bone as well as major blood loss. I gave him the blood bag I had on me, but I didn't have any morphine. I was about 30 minutes from Berezino, so I told him to wait just outside the town we met in. I ran full sprint to Berezino, and just as I got to the hospital, I noticed there were no zombies and no loot. Next thing I know, everything around is blowing up and I die from a hacker. I felt really bad for the guy, but I noticed that after I died, he had already left. Maybe he didn't trust me to actually come back for him.
  19. I know there are plenty of other "small survivor" groups out there, but I wanted to start my own, since I have a specific idea of what I want. When I say RP-esque, I don't want it to be an RP. I want people who are willing to play a role they give themselves. So, instead of picking up that M107, you keep your Lee Enfield. I want players who are willing to stay with "low-tier" equipment on purpose. It makes the game more interesting, in my opinion, and it makes it more difficult. For example, I am using only a hatchet and a revolver. I want a group of 3-7 guy/gals who want to work together and live off the land, per say. We can raid towns for supplies, and explore the world. Currently, and I would like to keep this going, I live off of mostly cooked meat and water. If I'm in a town, and I find a can of beans, of course I'm going to take it, but I try to stay away from Coke and Pepsi unless I'm dying for a drink. My policy on interacting with other players is to limit it. If I'm grouped with you, you will be my best friend, but if not, you are a threat. That doesn't mean you have to die, but it does mean I am keeping my eyes on you. I would like other people in my group to adopt this idea as well. Other players don't have to be shot. Offering "friendly" first is always an option. If you think they truly are a threat to the group, don't hesitate to kill them, but I don't want people with itchy trigger fingers. And obviously, if they shoot first, you are always justified in killing them. My policy on cars, is that, if we decide we need one, we can get one, but I don't to horde cars. We can get a vehicle that holds all of us, or we can get two cars, but there would be no need for like five cars. I want to set up a small camp area, but I don't know where yet. I'm relatively new to the game, so I don't know good camp locations that won't get raided. I have a tent on my character right now, so we can set that up ASAP. If you would like to join me, please, let me know. I would like to talk over Skype or Teamspeak or Mumble or whatever. I have no experience setting up Teamspeak or Mumble servers, so if someone else can do that, that would be great. Let me know that would want to join, either by posting here or PMing me, and I will PM you my Steam name, and then we can talk about getting started on things. I want this to happen soon, because this is the first tent I've had, and I don't want to lose it, so I'm afraid to log in until we get this set up. Thank you for your time.

    RP-Esque, Small Survivor Group

I'd like to rekindle this group. Message me for information. Since the last post, I have died and lost my stuff. Several times, actually. But that's okay. It just gives us a better experience. We can all start from the beginning together. We can all respawn with nothing and work together to try to survive. If you're interested, again, please message me for information.

    Why do people stream snipe?

It's all about anonymity. When a person has anonymity, they feel like they can get away with anything. When people feel like they can get away with anything, they do the thing they couldn't do it real life without consequences. Some people say that it's better people get it out over the internet than let it leak into real life.

    Cherno vs. Elektro

It's true. I was just as surprised as you are when he dropped it. I was in a building, and I saw out the window that there was a guy running toward me. I said, over direct chat, that I saw him and that I am friendly. He said he was friendly, but obviously I was little on edge still. All I had was an axe, so I figured even if i died, it would really matter. He told me he was at the door with his gun down, so I walked down and met him. We talked for a little bit, and I explained that I had just spawned. He asked me if I'd like to have a gun. I said sure, that would be awesome. Next thing I know, he drops the gun and six mags for it, and then he whips out an AS50. He ran off as I was thanking him. It was pretty awesome.

    Why do people stream snipe?

Because people on the internet are assholes who enjoy watching the world burn. Anyone who hasn't learned this by now is either new the internet or just plain naive.

    Cherno vs. Elektro

I feel like with all the talk about avoiding Cherno, there less people there, but it's still dangerous. Personally, I've run into more survivors along the smaller cities on the coast than at Cherno or Elektro. I also feel like, for the most part, the survivors you meet along the coast in smaller cities are nicer people. Just today, out of the three survivors I met at the coast, three were friendly. The first one, I helped by giving him a blood bag and a map. We then parted ways after he, very kindly, thanked me for the help. The second gave me an M4A1 Camo SD for free. The third invited me to his group of survivors. Nice people are fun to play with.
