  1. Yeah, maybe something like an arm band. It is discreet enough not to be seen from far away, but it is distinct enough in close quarters. I think we just don't want custom appearances to turn into something like TF2's hats. "Pre-order DayZ and receive a red bandanna!" "Give us more money and you can have hats for your survivor!" Meh. I don't know, what do you guys think?
  2. I was in a forum talking about a new map for the stand-alone game, and I thought that I would bring my idea to the suggestion area. If DayZ were to completely revamp the playable map, I think that including a border in the middle of the map would greatly increase the map's capabilities. Just imagine Chernarus split in two by a large and swift river that is almost impossible to swim across. Place large (suspension?) bridges linking the two sides. This would introduce bridges as new areas that would be highly occupied by players. We already have the idea of cities and military bases being popular, and I think that borders and bridges have the potential to do much of the same. And of course, traveling between the two countries would not be limited to only those bridges. Boats will become incredibly valuable. And to prevent players from staying on one side of the map, certain locations can be special to that country. Maybe place a huge hospital on one country, and a huge food store on another country. Maybe bandits will group together and try to control one country. This can launch an epic fight. Could you imagine seeing a bus full of bandits driving over a bridge and into a blockade of friendly survivors? Can you imagine watching as boats launch from one side of the river to invade the coast city of the other country? This will introduce SO many new kind of interactions that dayz can really benefit from. The key here is keep it balanced, and if you guys are willing to give this idea the support it needs, I can really imagine this becoming a fantastic aspect. Thanks for reading! :)

    Full release - Map discussion

The map should feature a border between two different countries. Not only will this give us diversified buildings and signs, but it may encourage a whole new aspect to gameplay. The border could be a large river and there could be only 5 or so large bridges connecting the two landmasses. This would introduce a new high population area that is not a city or airstrip. Perhaps one country could be the bandit haven whereas the other country the friendly area. And even better, place certain key buildings in one of the countries, thus forcing players to travel between the two countries. This has the potential to really revamp the interactions in the game. If this idea has not been introduced, I really hope you guys spread it if you all think it has potential.

    More vehicles. Mostly cars

I love you, triscuit. I was reading the quote by the guy who said that there were enough vehicles, and I found his comment to be riddled with errors. If you search 100 different vehicle spawns without success, I think that is a clear designation that vehicles are far too rare. And also, the only time I have actually found vehicles is when some bozo drives a tractor around until some bandit thinks that it is funny to toss him a hand grenade. I have put in countless hours into dayz, and I have searched a great deal of vehicle spawns, and never have I found an interact-able vehicle. In fact, I lied. I stole a truck from a hacker once, and I must say that THAT was one of the greatest moments of my dayz experience, and if there were more vehicles available for interaction, I GUARANTEE that more players would have greater incentive to return to the game for countless hours of fantastic gameplay. Vehicles should be rare, but they should be more common. And in no way am I encouraging a whole bunch of unnecessary vehicles. I would really hate to see a whole bunch of chumps driving around the streets like they just passed their driving tests. I think that the vehicles should be very vulnerable to decay, as triscuit mentioned, and that in the wrong hands, vehicles would only be a temporary convenience. Whereas if a hardened survivor came across a vehicle, he/she would be able to properly maintain said vehicle. Thus, balanced supply of vehicles. Take my beans. I have pasta too.

Finding Nemo - Looking for someone?

Hello, everyone! I absolutely love playing DayZ as a lone-wolf kind of guy, but as of late I have found myself needing of some cooperative assistance. I am pretty good at the game, well, I am at least decent, I suppose. I have a really patient playing style and I like to plan out my encounters instead of just letting them happen. But don't expect me to be super cereal, errrr, I mean serious, all of the time. I love playing this game, and I think that it certainly has some room for some silliness. If you think you would like to take on the Chernarus Wasteland with the likes of this guy, feel free to let me know! I also was in the process of making a steam group dedicating to the purpose of this thread. Would you guys think that would be a good idea? If so, I would always appreciate a little help! Here is the link to that group as of right now. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/DayZFriendFinder (Will I get in trouble for including a link? I could not find anything that said I could not include links . . . If so, I am sorry in advance.)
