Okay, I searched the forums for the answer to this question, but the way it was worded made it confusing. Let's say I pop a tent down with spare items I need for a quick restart AFTER dying. I go back to the tent to grab my items after dying, but I also picked up some loot to store along the way. I put my loot in the tent, and equip my quick restart gear. Since I died that tent is supposed to despawn after 2 days (heard it maybe take longer now though) If I save my tent after getting my respawn stuff will it stay for good, or despawn since I still died even though I saved it?

First gun? Shotgun double barrel. Didn't use it once. Traded for a winchester, didn't use it. Got an M16, didn't use it. Finally, got a DMR. Scored only about 50 Zed kills in the day I had it, and 3 player kills. Died the next day, and now I'm rolling an AKM.

I just asked the same question today. I got an awesome answer ( the one I was hoping to hear). As long as you have an active tent (one that you use/save often) the tent will stay on the map. No worries :]

My laptop can run arma 2/DayZ on high for a good amount of time with good FPS...I played it for like 8 hours the other day no problem :P

I have the game off of steam just because they are, as mentioned, very user friendly. When you go to download the mod I suggest using the six launcher download FOUND ON THIS SITES MAIN PAGE. It auto updates DayZ, so you just download and play. Team speak is one of many ways people communicate while playing DayZ. My group uses it and it works well, however, I've heard Skype/mumble work just as well. If you want some starting help provided you're over 18 you should learn with us! You don't have to join if you don't want to, but the people in the guild love to get people started with the basics until they feel ready to do off on their own. We also play on a server that's looked over by some very trust worthy people. This is a bad idea for the simple fact that everyone on a pvp server will be killing each other constantly. It might seem like that already, but you'd be surprised the amount of people who see you, could kill you, but let you go. We need the type of people who enjoy just surviving on the servers to maintain some kind of balance between constant combat, and relaxing situations.

Just got done playing with these guys, and I have to say it was amazing. They are hilarious and I had a great time. I learned so much in such a short time that when I got some time to roam by myself I wasn't having troubles at all, and found a few essential items. I'm looking forward to playing with them again. If you're new these are the guys to go to, and if you're experienced they are someone you should meet.
