I don't see anything wrong with offline. Great for people who dislike PvP, don't have internet access, enjoy shorter loading times, etc.But a story goes against the sandbox nature.

My god I hate posts like these. He is complaining about a core aspect of the game that in all probability never change. While I disagree with his sentiment - give it more time, OP! - alpha has nothing to do with this.

This is a hard lesson many new players have to learn. Trust no one but established friends.

Playing at night on a low pop server might help. But yes, you must assume that a sniper is always scanning the area. The foolish ones will camp in the fire station or comm tower, but others will be on the outlying hills. Move quietly, quickly, don't attract attention, and stick to the perimeter. Stay off the bloody runway.

It seems to either be affected by blood pressure or moon light, not sure which. Got on a night server last night and could literally see NOTHING but stars. At some point, though, the area lit up just enough for me to navigate and loot the NWAF.

God, I was so afraid that was going to happen earlier today. It was my first time looting the barracks, I was on a quiet server, and it was pitch black out. Just got my first ever M4 when I heard footsteps.*thud* "Shit." *thud* "Shit." *thud* "Shit." They were so slow that I figured someone had to be creeping around. But then a zombie lumbered past a window, and his movements matched the footfalls. Relieved, I got the heck out of there. Players are more dangerous than any zombie out there.

You just get sick and die.Attacks from zombies have a verrry low chance of infecting you. Over-exposure to cold can also do you in.

If you're stuck waiting for a host, find another server. Otherwise, slow loading times are to be expected.

Clearing towns is good for end-game playing or when rolling with a large group. Otherwise, I'd advise saving your ammo and not attracting unwanted attention from bandits. It may be tempting to have an epic shootout with the undead, but it usually isn't worth it unless you don't fear death.

They definitely do. Was clearing out tents in Stary when one spawned right in front of me. But it doesn't always seem to happen, or at least not for some time. Just stay on your guard as always.

I hear tents are pretty glitchy right now, by the way. Be wary of storing your loot there for any extended period of time.
