I made a quick install tool that will update/install DayZ to the latest versions without having to copy/paste/extract anything. It will take the latest .rar files within DayZ's remote download folder and overwrite any old ones you may already have. Updated Updated v 1.6 -- New support for launching the ARMA II Beta with DayZ Updated v 1.5 -- Torrent support added to keep some of the load off the DayZ file mirrors. *To take advantage of the torrent features, please make sure you have the latest Java version(1.7) or it may not work for you. Quick Update - Will only download new versions of files, you can use this to check if there is a new update out. Force Update - Will download (or redownload) all current version files. Play - Will launch the steam version of DayZ without needing to modify the launch options. Program won't start! : Make sure you have the 32bit version of Java, it may not run under the 64bit version. Unable to detect the game folder : Make sure the path to the base ARMA II : Operation Arrowhead is correct Make sure that "\" are used. "/" may cause problems. The program will attempt to trim any left over spaces at the end of the path, but make sure you remove them just in-case It may also help to terminate the path in a single "\" Enjoy! Give it a try with http://cdn.armafiles.info/latest/ , should work

The location to the mirror changed, I've updated the mirror list, simple start the program up normally and try again.

Can you PM me that output in the status window?

I think I see your problem, give this one a try and report back, it appears the same but it is actually 1.61. As long as you manually enter a valid location that contains "ArmA2OA.exe" then it should work. http://worrom.com/files/DayZUpdater16.zip Note : it is untested with ARMA Free, so that may also contribute to your problem.

because a file exists on the mirrors that has "rar" in the name, but it's actually a torrent (DayZ-1.7.1.1.rar.torrent) it screws up with the download/extraction. I've uploaded a fix at my site, alternatively you can use this URL, it should be selectable in the drop down list for the program: http://worrom.com/dayzupdater/DAYZ_1_7_1_1.txt

There is a dropdown list of mirrors, you could always just select the non-torrent one :P

I'm using Host Altitude for NY6 right now, and so far it's been great. Jonnerz is a nice dude and answers all of my concerns quickly. I'll be moved over to the new VPS servers shortly. The specs for the price are unbeatable in my opinion, I canceled my other server rentals from another company, saving myself a bit of money in the process. So I'm a satisfied customer :)

I'm guessing it was related to the overloaded file servers. If there isn't an available dl slot this error can happen. You can try a different mirror, maybe i should make a drop down box with all of the available ones. In the future i hope to include torrent support to lighten the load on the fileservers. I'm currently the only Admin on NY6, we've only been online for 2 days... So he must be mistaken. If this is a serious concern and we can verify it's for NY6 i can provide chat logs.

I hope you mean NYC6 and not NY6(my server). When i've been online i haven't seen any racism, but i would ban/kick for it.

Great app so far :) ... Seems to be functioning nicely, set hive restarts at every hour and server restarts at every 8 hours. Only a few suggestions: - allow an argument to the exe that starts the servers right away without having to go through the main menu - display the time to restart hive/server in the status window - allow for additional programs to be restarted with the server ex: BEC - alert players of the server when a game server restart is near so they can find a safe place Awesome work!

My updater works for servers as well, I could make a version that doesn't require any user input, then you could tie it to a server task that runs ever X hours. There is some wierdness there, and it won't update files that are currently locked by the game, so if there is an update available it would need to terminate the server.... just thinking out loud.

Just had an out of memory error in the AO server, would be great to somehow detect that error box and handle that as well. Looks like i'm going to have to setup regular restarts every x hours.

All of the above done (except making it self updating) :) ... Also added support for retail versions(non-steam) of the game to hit play and launch the game.

@Johannes, I totally agree, normally download times aren't this long, but the mirrors are completely bogged down. @Everyone else, the mirrors are heavily bogged down, so please be paitent, if you're having trouble at the extraction stage, please upgrade to v1.4 -- I had to allocate more memory to the program, the DayZ files got larger and the small footprint I gave it wasn't enough :)
