My sister wants to play this game, but since there's only one character save it's a pain in the ass, would one of us playing on an official server, and one of us on one running a private hive, both be able to pretty much have our separate characters?

I was playing with two of my friends, and we were going to meet up with a third near the military base in Balota. Once we were all together we headed towards the camp, we saw someone trying to make his way in and we shot him, figured it was better we shoot him instead of letting him find a gun and shooting at us. As soon as we made it past the gates one of our members dropped, and we saw there was a sniper sitting in the far left stand, my friend tried sneaking closer to get a shot on him but the sniper shot him before he could get too close, the bullet didn't kill him though, he managed to get some shots into the sniper, killing him before he bleed out. Then me and my only friend that was left alive at the moment went to go loot the guys body, but he d/ced like a prick so we couldn't loot him. I know it's not much of a story but it was the first moment in game that actually had my adrenaline pumping, and I figured I'd share it.

I recently got the game, and my sister has been wanting to play, but I read the only way to get more then one character is to buy another copy of ArmA II: CO, but I just saw that some unofficial servers don't carry over your saved character to that server, and I was wondering if my sister played on an unofficial server, and I played on normal servers, would we be able to have two separate characters without any bugs messing with them? Sorry if this sounds stupid.

Your character is saved across all servers, and an average server has its cap set at 50, sometimes a little more.

I'm bought it for Dayz, but I'm somewhat interested in Arma II also, I'm slowly making my way through all the boot camp missions and will probably start the campaign soon.

I'm new to the game, I only have around 2 hours of experience, but I know all the basics, and pretty much all the controls, I'm 18 and I live in the US, I'm looking for pretty much anyone that wants to team up.
