Thats why we need youre current specs so we can help... :)
-
For starters, can you please write down youre hardware specs. Not easy to reply when we dont know what kinda components you have mate.
-
i would love your idea on what i did
John69 replied to mrkilljoyxd's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I think the problem is that you have a Intregated graphic card (and old cpu+hdd too), Arma 2 is a demanding game for even todays computers, so adding a dedicated graphic card is recomended. Thats low end "gaming" components you have there, so you will need a upgrade if you want to be able to play the game at a decent framerate. -
Six updater abd dayz commander are just clients to launch the game, you will not loose anything by using either of those two lanchers
-
You can use fraps : http://www.fraps.com/ for showing youre fps ingame. But the program you ask for is : http://www.evga.com/precision/ used for EVGA graphic cards Personally i go for MSI Afterburner, a overclocking and gpu info utility .... its the best there is :can be used with all graphic card manufactures : http://event.msi.com...er/overview.htm New version of MSI ab can always be downloaded from : http://guru3d.com/ EDIT: typos

Well said sir.. I noticed this myself, but im playing the game the way i want it anyway, theres so many ways to play this game.
-
First, turn down or off shadows...who has the biggest impact on the fps. Then also turn off Postprocess effects...

Same has happend to alot of people here, texture glitch. I just change my memory setting in the video config from high to medium/low. Solved my problem. There are other solutions, but were in alpha,so patience is the best solution i think. EDIT: look here too: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/49740-graphical-bugs/

They claim its a gaming computer, and it has a HD 6670 gfx card, thats a LOW end gfx card. Change to HD6870, or the newer HD 7000 series the HD 7850/7770. They are middle class gfx cards and will run Arma 2/ DayZ with ease. -
What Graphics Card Should I Choose?

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2011/03/15/nvidia-geforce-gtx-550-ti-1gb-review/8 http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2010/10/22/ati-radeon-hd-6870-review/6 I think the gtx 560 SE or the HD 6870 will be the best choise, just my 2 cents. My favourite out of the 3 cards ...the HD 6870. Also to consider, you will need a good PSU min +450W. -

I have to restrain myself, this is moore than a gentleman can bare...... welcome to alpha testing -
Not all hope is lost, you can buy one of this : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102958 The HD 6670 is a low profile graphics card who will fit in youre case, the performance is around 5-10 % worse than the HD 4850, but its still a valid card for Arma 2 and Dayz at lower resolutions like 1280x1024 The HD 6670 also draw much less power than the HD 4850.

I think the MSI 2a9c is a Msi motherboard used for prebuild computers made by HP, so i guess you have a HP computer. And yes you can put a Graphic card on that motherboard, it has a free x16 pci express slot. But next problem if upgrading is youre Power or PSU, i dont think thats strong enuff to power up a GTX 460, or simular graphics cards.

Buy the best hardware you can afford, You have a 1156 socket Intel motherboard, getting a used i5 750 (quadcore)(starting from 50 bucks on ebay) cpu and a desent graphic card should not cost that much, if you want to keep youre current setup and only upgrade youre cpu + graphic card. A used GTX460(starting from 50-60 bucks on ebay) and you be rocking in the lower res up to 1600x900. Why not AMD? im no fanboy, i only know that Arma runs better on Intel+ nividia for the most part, not offending any AMD users here. Also when upgrading, make sure youre power can handle the new hardware, you will need a quality + 450/500w power for the part im listing.

You are trying to run arma 2 (dayz) on Integrated graphics, or onboard graphics, not recommended, and Integrated graphics does NOT meet the minimum requirements for this game either. Upgrade youre graphics and you might be able to run this game on a lower resolution. For ARMA2 to run smooth you will need a fairly modern quadcore cpu and some dedicated graphic card along with it. No need even trying to run the game with youre current setup.

First off, go to control panel -> power options, make sure when you play games you play with the powercord plugged inn and set poweroptions to "High Performance". That will solve the issue if the gfx will throtle down due to power saving feature. Second, start the game with the medium settings, test game from there, fiddle with the options until you get a desent framerate (ill guess you can manage around 20-35 fps with that setup on 1366x768 res) make 3dres the same as youre ingame resolution. Posteffect and hdr off.

Fraps will do the job just fine.

I can see stars, then you know what time of day it is. You are playing at late evening / night.... solution, find a server with a different timesetting (- x hours GMT) than you have atm (in real life). EDIT: If not night time, its looks like some heavy gamma issues, try reinstall the game. List youre hardware, cpu,gfx...so on

....aint life a bitch sometimes... awesome reading, carry on soldier

Cpuz does NOT report cputemp, cpuz give you basic info about youre cpu speed, motherboard chipset and ram speed and settings. Hwmonitor or speedfan will report temp for youre cpu. GPUZ http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/ on the other hand report info/temp about youre gfx or graphic card if you like. Hwmonitor is a greate free app who report all temps and voltages for youre computer. Realtemp http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/ is also a greate small program that can monitor youre cpuspeed and temp. ...just to clear things out... cheers
-
It depends heavy on youre res, on 1920x1080 on medium settings you will pro be in the 40-50 fps ish... Arma is cpu intensive, and will require a fast quadcore if you want high fps. Buy a "K" type ex a 3570K and overclock that baby for a few extra fps. Im running a i5 2500K@4600mhz with a Asus GTX 560 Ti 448core @1900x1200 im in the 65-90fps, with most settings on high, only hdr and aa turned down.

Use this http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html program to monitor your pc temp. From what i read, you have a big problem with temp in youre computer. Steps for making things better is cleaning (dusting off) fans inside youre computer, fans on youre cpu, gfx and psu is the most crucial. Uaing a vacuum cleaner works, but be sure to UNPLUG youre computer before attempting to suck out the dust and shit. Also be sure to obly use the short plastic handle on the vacuum cleaner, dont use any metal, it may damage or killing the components inside youre case. You can also buy a can with Dust off, its simply a can with compressed air, use with caution, hold the fan still with one hand, or the fan might spin off and then its broken. Also adding fans may help on the temp, casefans or simply remove the side door on youre comp for better airflow. Use common sence when cleaning youre computer, if you do not know what youre doing ask a friend or a familymember for help. PS... english is not my native language, so ignore the typos :)
