True, post settings. Also if you can, overclock that Phenom as far as you can, this game is a real cpu HOG. Moar ghz the better. Im guessing with a little tweaking and some overclocking, you should be able to get 25-30fps in city and 30-45 in the forest. Remember in setting tab, memory always on default, then try the other settings high/medium. Some high settings make use of the gfx, if you set lower value youre cpu will suffer, its the game engine, Arma 2 is funny that way.

When gaming on a laptop,always make sure: Control Panel---> Power options--->High performance, and play with powercord plugged inn always, Laptops have this powersaving features, we dont want those to kick inn while we play. If you can disable the Intel HD Graphic 3000, do that, you only want the nVidia GT 540 when playing. Look for that info in the nVidia controlpanel. For ingame settings start with medium/high, easy on the antialasing and shadows, and you might wanna lower youre screen resolution too for moore smooth gameplay... google is youre friend

I wont spoil youre dreams, but that cpu of youres is first gen Phenom cpu from AMD, it was good back in the days (2007-2008) Old tech it is, modern games are demanding and needs a fast cpu, prefeer a quad. And with fast speed and a good memory controller. Even if you can overclock that cpu, its still slow compare to the newer cpu`s even if they they run at lower speed. For Arma 2 and Dayz you need something abit moore modern tech buddy... (if you wanna have a good gaming experience)

I never shoot unarmed people, and i rarely shoot armed people too. Why?...Im playing this role as a Istillhavefaithinhumans medic, and i dont have nerves,so I like to sneak up to people,watch em and maybe patch em up. I play nice,a helper rather than a bandit badass, and too my surprise,i dont get killed often. People dont have a contract on my head, I spread the Love, not the Infection Im not dissing the bandits,we need them, but im a man of honor,so i find no joy in killing unarmed or innocent players. Thats the way I have choosed to play. You can play Dayz in a 1000 different ways, theres no wrong or right way to play...you decide. EDIT: So i voted "Other reason"

Ah, i remember my first day in Dayz aswell, back in late may last year, My first hour,my heart was pounding,I had "goosebumps" all over....awesome,awesome feeling Back then we were playing like "survival" style, and we actually could interact with other people, the game had a few patches,the people have changed.... i still love this game :)

But, to be honest, that APU A8-3500 is really no good choise for Arma 2 and Dayz, its a quadcore alrighty, but its clocked slow at 1,5Ghz and with the turbo feature some cores go up to 2,4Ghz. Arma 2 is a cpuHOGGER, it needs Ghz, moore is always better. The built in gfx HD6620 is way better than all of Intels Onboard gfx, but still its no good for demanding games like Arma 2 Cpu`s in laptops are usally low power eg. 25-45w and slow clocked compared to "normal" Desktop cpu`s I have a laptop with the A6 3410MX @1,6Ghz , overclocked it to 2,9Ghz all cores(Use K10 Stat.google it) But still arma 2 was really hard to enjoy, sometimes 20-25fps, but mostly around 15-20 fps You can fiddle for a few hours with the settings and maybe get in the 25fps range in some places, but the overall gaming experience will be bad and sluggish. Dayz is not youre regular game. Its moore like a survivior mod,with zeds... "This is my story" consept makes for 1000 ways to play the game. Its the people who play the game who makes Dayz what it is.

Hes got a laptop One thing to try out is newest drives for that GTX 560M, then next make sure to go into control panels and set the power options to HIGH performance,might help.Always play games with the powercord plugged in btw, ARMA 2 is a cpu hugger and will need all the ghz it can get, youre cpu hoover between 2-2,9ghz with the turbo enabled. Maybe try switch off the HT (hypertrading) in bios,if its not disabling the turbo boost when doing so
