need the ability to give yourself a blood transfusion
llodka replied to tank77's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
It's fine. There are many many more reasons and with far stonrger arguments that promote team play. I have no problem with it being like this, contrary to what you think, but please don't tell me it encourages team play, because that really is a fallacy. -
<snipo some i dunno> Most people dont read them, so why would they look for anything similar in a mod?

I'm not sure, I think he might be saying that it's the clients responsibility to read the forums and dayz wiki before playing? Ridiculous.

That would be more realistic. Or atleast make it so it takes a lot longer to fix yourself up. Bear in mind though day to day survival when alone makes is already harder than being in a group. -

Some muttering russian, and having no food in cherno (yeah right) has no relevance on its own. You're getting the posts confused. And to address your teamplay example. You don't need your buddy to pop over with a bag when you can regen with food. Like I said, unless the only way of regening blood is to have someone else do it, there really is no point in the current blood transfusion system. -

The ingame tools are realistic not pathetic. It all comes down to what you want from a game. If I need blood I'll get food. If I didn't have access to blood regenration then perhaps blood bags would foster teamplay or I'd just call one of those wonderful medics again. But it would still only be shortlived. More like a trade or favour. There really is little point in having bloodbags only accessible through other players. -

What's this gto to do with the discussion at hand? I can give examples where shooting is totally unnecessary, but it doesn't alter the fact that the current system of blood transfusions do not foster cooperation. -

When the zombie apocalypse comes 99% of people will not shoot on sight. Until the game addresses that the blood transfusion will continue to be a penalty to lone survivors as the game in it's current form does not promote teamplay from within. ( and by that I exclude pre organised clans/friends as thats not entirely in the ethos of the game). Perhaps I have this game down wrong and it's just another shooter, in which case I wish the devs would just say so. -

Well blood transfusions haven't made me cooperate and seek team work, so not working as intended. Just another penalty for people who want to survive alone. -
Unfortunately it is already becoming this.

Solution to all of your DayZ problems? MAKE FRIENDS
llodka replied to MalleusX's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Well actually it is a mixture of FPS and different genres. Are you seriousy suggesting this is the same as say CoD or similar games? And why would rocket suggest subscription as a means of making money when the game is finished? Because that in itself alludes to something more than just your box standard FPS. Anyway, I realise it's unlikely to happen, but I wouldn't be suprised if it were tweaked for a pve environment it would be larger than pvp. -
Well yes I know that, that's why this is posted in suggestions. People like pve, simple as that. If rocket wanted this game to appeal to a larger audience then having both would provide that. ATM he doesn't and that's his lookout. And your analogy is so far off it's like finding 20 year old bread thats been left behind a sofa.

llodka replied to MalleusX's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
You wanna bet? If you look at the stats of all mmos that provide pvp and pve, pve wins hands down. -
Seems like a good suggestion. Some people do not like pvp at all, why shouldn't they enjoy the survival aspect of the game in a pve environment. Obviously it would have to be a ton harder with far more zombies and far less loot spawns. And clearly no migration of characters between pve and pvp would be allowed. As it currently stands its not really an open sandbox zombie apocalypse survival game as alot of people were hoping but rather simply a pvp deathmatch game with some zombies thrown in. Pretty much just arma2 with zombies. I'm sure I'd play both.

Eh what? Closed beta or alpha or whatever never means 'NOBODY'

If a game has a massive community of testers so much feedback gets lost in the inevitable spam. There is a finite point of testers needed, and anything over that just muddys the water. It has some merit

There is a difference between getting a vehicle to muck about in and getting one for a purpose pertaining to the zombie apocalypse,

No, the ultimate goal is to stay alive. I do trust when you guys have gotten your roflcopters you will be moving on to the next game. It's a human experiment, I think thats what rocket has said. Once the game is finished I suspect what he'd like to see is humans banding togteher and creating zones of 'humanity', much like the medic teams are doing atm. The psychological and evolutionary aspect of this game is the goal I suspect,

Zombies popping in and out of existence. Stability seems to have taken a hit. Alot more lag for myself and friends on servers. Including more disconnects. Far more yellow and red chain icon. Zombies half in and out of the world (waist up) . Only noticed this in buildings so far. Keep up the great work devs, cheers!
