    decrease ammo, decrease military weapon spawns, give military zombies guns they can use and fix the spawning of zeds
  7. ...you'd have more cooperation in this game, while at the same time giving robbery / banditry back it's purpose Sure, you'd still have the occasional asshole killing new players with a makarov / enfield "for the lulz", but if getting better guns actually required teamwork, there would be more teamwork Maybe add a new kind of zombie type to spawnpoints that can spawn good / military gear - slower, but way more aggressive and huge hoards of them, so that a single player can't just lead them into a house and kill them one by one. Right now a hatchet is all you need to survive all the pve aspects of this game. So once a player finds this awesome DMR / M24 / AKM / etc, what's he gonna do with it? Snipe zombies? Nah, he'll just kill players, since that's the only purpose of good weapons oh and decrease the overall chance of military gear, i shouldn't be running around with an ak 10 minutes after i spawned Again, I dont want banditry removed - i want cooperation to be encouraged (by making it way, WAY more difficult to get good stuff) and banditry should be given back it's purpose (which is being a bandit, not random DMing because you have nothing else to do) Just an Idea I had, I'm sure there are drawbacks to it that I don't see yet, so i'm looking for input before creating a properly formatted post in the suggestion area
  8. Exactly, you kill a player with good gear for their ammo / weapons. That's the point, you don't just DM, you have a reason to kill them. If you just killed new players on the coast all day, you'd quickly run out of ammo. Drastically limiting weapons / ammo (and making military zeds more difficult) discourages the killing of worthless targets while forcing you to cooperate with potentially dangerous players (imagine the paranoia) just to get some spare new mags
  9. I'm not just talking about making it rare, I'm thinking it should be nearly impossible for a single player to get good weapons / ammo Maybe give military zombies weapons. They're infected right? They can swim and climb ladders. So why should they not be able to use their weapons. If you had to kill infected military zeds with snipers / assault rifles / pistols, i'm sure that would encourage cooperation. Meh, I don't know, I'm no game designer, i just notice that the only point of good weapons is pvp and everybody gets good weapons way too easily. So I think we need to have not just a pvp-reason for military weapons, but also a way you can (and have to) use them in pve together with other players while at the same time making it harder to get good weapons to begin with

  13. Of course it's not, but the difficult part (determine if there's a straight and clear path / LOS) seems to be implemented already and all the other steps are quite easy
  14. The "terrible pathfinding" excuse is bullshit Guess what? 1. Determine if zombie has a clear path towards the target 2. No: Use crappy zigzag pathfinding, process ends here. / Yes (which is true almost all the time when you try to shoot a zombie thats following you): read on 3. Get target coordinates 4. Get zombie coordinates 5. Calculate angle between target and zombie 6. turn zombie to that angle 7. make zombie run forward 8. Go back to step 1 Guess what that this results in? Zombies that follow you in a straight line, assuming there's a clear path. Don't know why rocket hasn't done this yet, should even improve performance Only reason i could think of is the arma 2 engine not allowing you to make an actor just run forward, maybe you have to use the pathfinding system to move actors, but i dunno

    The fact that the engine / BE lets players teleport around speaks volumes, server sided detection for that isn't that difficult (did that player just move 1km in less than a second? Well derp, he might be hacking)

  18. Gamespy seems to have some problems, multiple people have reported incosistent server lists in both sixlauncher and dayz commander
  19. FPS in DayZ depend a LOT on server performance (yeah, I'm not even kidding, server affects your fps) Try different servers - didnt believe it at first myself, but it's true

    There are two white symbols - broken bones and shock or something like that. If you log out while you are shocked, you will fall unconscious for 5 minutes the next time you log in
  21. I thought this was a bug, not an intended change to weapon damage? apparentely people who haven't updated to the newest beta patch for arma 2 still have the same old 1 shot pistols Edit: nvm, im stupid
  22. Have a similar story: Was clearing all of berezino on an completely empty server (1 player including myself). Then some dude (i assume server hopper) spawned right in front of me just when i got to the military tents. killed him, took his NVGs :D what were the chances

I'm sure this has been posted a few times already, but meh Zombies aren't dangerous enough sure, as a new player they scare you, but once you realise that you can just sprint through the whole town and lose them in buildings (which you're going to loot anyway), the game just becomes way too easy Also, it's too easy to find good / military gear if you're experienced I don't really care about dying anymore since it only takes such a short time to get good gear
