  1. i5-4670k processor at 3.4 Ghz (Will overclock later when I get a better CPU cooler and more fans)

Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 Ghz Edition

8gb Corsair Ballistix Sport RAM at 1600

120GB Samsung SDD read up to 530mb/s

I think that is really all that would matter other than the monitor I have is a bit old so it runs at 768p so I will probably play on 720p.

  2. Hey! I tried to get on DayZ today for the first time in a bit on a server that I frequent. However, I am loading in everything and then getting to the Creating Character part, and I sit there for a while and nothing. I generally time out and get kicked from the server. Anyone know what is happening?

  3. It clearly says in the update that this was a quickfix to help with the artifacting and it did help a bit. They also threw the humanity in for fun and to test it again. They also stated that this update would be buggy and that anything buggy should be reported. So, do your job in being part of the ALPHA stage of this mod and not complain but rather report the issue.

  4. Short and sweet, I think that Rocket should pass dayZ mod off to a smaller group so he can take the main and best people for the job and have them focus on the standalone. Updates in the mod would be limited but that's okay. This way we can still play the mod and get some help and then also have the standalone be super awesome.

  5. You have a decent processor and a pretty good graphics card. I would think you would be able to run this game fine. I can run it on my laptop that has integrated graphics I just run it alrightish.

I suggest checking out this video to set the game up to run the fastest it can and then adjust to your liking.

check the description for some tips too.

  6. I understand DayZ is a kill or be killed world but teamwork is still possible under so many different circumstances. People always want to do whats best for them and in DayZ this correlates to not losing gear and supplies that one has spent time finding. However, all of the stuff you find in DayZ is replaceable. You can always it again and it will always be there as long as this mod continues and with 1,000,000 players, I don't think this mod is going anywhere anytime soon. So, why not try and have a valueable experience by meeting new people and seeing how you can help each other. I understand the desire for the kill and it will happen. Not every encounter is going to end up beautifully, but why not try? You can get all the stuff again. That's why I gave away my van and let them have it.

Im just disappointed at times with the lack of friendly people in this game. It's not meant to be a deathmatch scenario all the time but it seems like most of the time it is. This game has so much more potential than it already has but the community ruins it.

  7. Like the title says, what is the nicest thing you have done?

Mine personally happened yesterday. I hopped on DayZ and ran towards Elektro. While I was running through the woods, I noticed this bull square off in the distance. I decided to investigate and slowly creeped forward towards this unknown object. As I got close I thought I saw wheels and what looked like to be a vehicle. It turns out it was a van and I got right next to it and hop in to see if it running. The engine and wheels were yellow but everything else was good to go. The van was full on gas so I decided to pull out and head to Elektro, however on my way I ran into a survivor being chased by the infected and as I got closer he began to scream, "Let me in! Let me in!" I stopped the van and yelled for him to get in.

As he got in the vehicle he began to tell me that his friends were in desperate need for help. They were back in Cherno and had got into a gunfight with another group. One of their friends had been killed and the others were trapped in the apartments. There had been a group in a helicopter harassing and shooting up people in Cherno and Elektro and some how the man I had just picked up convinced me to turn around and head back to Cherno. I whipped the car around and motored my way to Cherno as fast as I could. I kept hearing gun fire as I travelled and it got louder and louder as we closed in on Cherno. When we were not too far out of Cherno, we saw the helicopter flying back to Elektro. We knew this was out time. When we got to the apartments I drove past them and whipped through the field and back around to get in front of the apartment and be able to make a quick get away.

As, I sit there the man I had just found running down the road starts to yell to his friends to get in and one by one they ran out of the apartment and got into the van. One had a hard time getting in and couldnt find an open seat as 3 friends had poured out of the apartment. Once everyone got in, we drove towards Kamenka. One of the friends in the group I was saving had been killed and spawned in Kamenka. As we drove down to Kamenka the group kept telling me thanks and that I would be rewarded for what I had done with beautiful guns and everything I could need. As, we picked up the friend in Kamenka I informed that group that I did not want the weapons and that they could have the van. We headed north for a short time and I got out and left the van to man that had just been screaming for my help a moment ago. They gave one last thank you and tore off into the north running over a sheep on the way. I trecked my way back to Cherno to then give a man who had been shot and lost much blood a blood transfusion so he could survive.

So tell me yours! I love to hear stories of good happening the DayZ community.

  8. I have put at least 100 hours into DayZ and I have never found AS50, M107, SVD, M24, NVG, Rangefinder, GPS, Ghille, M4 anything, M16 Acog or M203, Bizon, FAL, or L85. I have the luck where I have to spend 3 days on one character just going around trying to find a box of matches. It sucks. However, I have only been to the NW airfield once and didnt stay for long...

    damn snipers.

  9. dayz is especially awesome because you can choose to be good or bad. if there wasn't a balance of good and bad then it would be boring as hell.

    don't question 'bad' behaviour! :P

Show me this said, "balance" and then your opinion could become a valid one. There is a 100 to 1 ratio between good and bad. That's not balance. That's evil roaring in Chernarus.

  10. Like the title states, what is your play style?

Today while I was working my way up north I noticed how I plan routes and follow them with little goals in mind. I generally try avoid zombies because they are just annoying. Nothing about them is too difficult but having to shoot them, make my position known, worry about other zombies coming, and wasting ammo just doesn't seem to be worth it. I would rather have those 15 bullets when I need them. I also choose a friendly way of handling things. I always yell friendly over direct chat and won't fire unless forced to. I also like to help out others. If the stranger I run into is friendly and doesn't fire I will ask if they need anything such as food, drink, blood, painkillers, etc. Even though I am alone I always carry two blood bags just for the situations in which you find a nice soul who can help you out and you help them out in return.

While I do admit this play style results in more deaths than if I just shot on sight, it has allowed me to experience amazing moments in DayZ that I don't think I would be able to experience if I just shot people. I've learned the equipment is replaceable, but the experiences aren't.

SO! Tell me about what you do. Do you run through town creating a zombie-choo-choo-train to lose them all in a building? Do you work you way north and hit all the Deer Stands on the way? Do you go to Cherno or Elektro and get supplies then run north? Are you friendly or a bandit?

    Thanks in advance. :P

  11. I shoot when communication cannot be established and they are seem to be sketchy. By being sketchy I mean that they keep trying to get behind me or are aiming a gun at me all the time or trying to get somewhere I cant really see them. Generally, though I will yell, "Friendly. Don't shoot." Then really it's up to reading the situation. If I feel things are going well, I will ask them if they need anything such as food, drink, blood, etc.

I have had some cool experiences and often make friends. These are the rare kind of moments I look for in DayZ. All your equipment is replaceable. The moments you have are not.

  12. I think what gets me is the adrenaline rush you get at times. When I first started playing when I saw a player my heart would skip a beat then start beating 150 times a minutes. I guess this feeling keeps me hooked. Im also intrigued by the human reactions. I look for the friendly people but hardly ever find them. I have never killed a person in cold bold. Usually I am provoked.

  13. Anyone else noticed this since 1.7.2.4? Friend fired one last night at airfield and pulled every single zed in the area, including ones we couldn't even see.

I experienced this about an hour ago. I was in Cherno at night and some guy with a makarov trys to kill and shoots me like 5 times (I should have died but thanks to the nerf i lived). I then shot him like 3 times with my AKM and he died. He had a CZ550 on his back and I wanted it for kicks but the amount of zombies I pulled was CRAY CRAY! I tried to hide and bandage myself but once I saw 15 zombies running towards I had to abandon hope and run inside a building first. But, there must have been at least 20-25 zombies outside the house slowly walking in. It makes me want to find another gun. The stopping power is great though. The one shot kill on zombies and 3-4 on players is really helpful. It saved me.

  14. Put your hands in the air WUOOOO-OOOO-OOO!

Its party time, and don't listen to this little kid.

    It's AAALPHA.

THERE WILL BE FIIIXES. Do you know what fixes are? Yes. They will solve the problem with many bugs.

    Just be patient, you suck.

She is right. I understand it is buggy and everything but part of this alpha period is to get rid of the bugs through testing different solutions. Our job of playing the of the game is to have fun and find bugs for the devs and give our insight on how to make the game better. So, if you can't deal with the bugs then just wait it out and pay the 100 whatevers when ever it becomes a stand alone.

  15. Is it just my imagination, or isn't loot suppose to despawn when people log in nearby? Not sure, but I think that was a short term solution to server hop farming.

I never thought about that! Maybe someone spawned in near me. That still doesnt explain why I cant find anything in cities for like 45 minutes at a time. I even go to the little cities less traveled up north and have the same problems.
