In real life, can you do everything? Can you sow a wound shut, fix a broken leg, repair a helicopter, fix a flat tire? No you can't do everything. You are good at a few things. I think that when you create a new character, you should have to choose a "background", which gives your character certain skills. You could be, for example, a doctor. This would give you the ability to help yourself, and other players medically. You could be ex-military or ex-police, giving you better proficiency with firearms. You could be a mechanic, and be good at fixing cars and helicopters and such. This would create roles for people, and give more incentive for people to help each other because the PLAYER would offer a SKILL that is more valuable than any item he or she may or may not have. This, combined with many of the current exploits being fixed/resolved, could make for a much better gaming environment.
