Well i had tried a demo for arma, played for about 2 seconds. When i got dayz the fist thing i did was find a map and bookmark it, and bookmark the manual with the controls for OA and have them on my other monitor. easy...

Makarov or G17 Both for same reason, quiet and lots of ammo. Maybe not alot of g17 mags, but each mag has alot of bullets :D Both quiet, only use for zombies/animals.

m4a1 holo has a flashlight on the gun, but it doesnt work..

My friend copied his BE folder to OA and verified integrity on steam of both arma 2 and OA and he was able to get past this.

I only just started last week with the low zombie count, but this has changed the whole feel of the game, I LOVE IT. So intense, such desire to find humans and work together. I really don't like listening to my character cry when he is panicking, I AM my character, i don't want to think that i am controlling someone else. Besides i already make those sounds at my desk :D

Oh also, that first step onto dirt or gravel off of grass scares the shit out of me every time i almost faint. I wish that first stomp wasn't so loud. I always think its a gunshot.

I logged in to some woods, about 5 feet from a bush with a guy that i heard move about 5 feet on the other side of that bush. Needless to say we heard each other and i sweated like that for about 5-10 minutes staring at this bush, till i saw his arm move and i unloaded on him. Picked up his stuff and bolted for about 2000 yards lol. And i was about to shoot a guy at the big castle, but right as i was about to click , BOOM sniper shot from where i had entered the area, guys dead and i sit in the corner listening for about 15 minutes till i had to log off. Every day has a few scary moments. I even told my girlfriend some of the stories and she was entertained. Normal games dont make stories like that everyday. : )
