    DayZ: Namalsk

    True story
  2. I wish I somehow could draw more attention to my FAQ. It's linked in the app via a "Help" link as well as on my website. But anyways, here is what I've said before. Also, the in-game server list limits the number of servers that come back in your list, which I have yet to do. http://www.dayzcommander.com/faq#D DayZCommander puts performance first, but this can wreak havoc on older routers. Luckily, you have a couple of options to make things better. In DayZCommander, under settings, lower the "Max Connections" down and keep lowering it until your problem goes away. Also in settings, disable "Refresh all servers automatically". The next time you start DZC up, you'll only be provided with your recent and favorite servers and can choose when you want to do the full refresh. Technical details: Your router has a NAT table that caches each individual endpoint (IP:Port). Pinging each one of the DayZ servers results in an entry added to that cache. Some routers have smaller tables than others, and when they get filled up, don't allow new endpoints to be used until the existing ones clear up. Newer/better routers have a much larger cache and are way less likely to see this problem.

    Loading Error! HELP

Try redownloading dayzcommander from the website, I just released a new installer that should fix your issue.
  4. I've definitely learned some things with all of this. And moving forward, vilayer is already talking to the original map creator as well as releasing the server files. Regardless if Vilayer copied the code for this port (which I do not agree with if they did), ViLayer ported 4 other maps before all of this, so they are very capable of doing it on their own.
  5. Everyone and their mother is making ports of DayZ for all of the already released maps... I can't just add support to commander for everyone that asks, or it's a bad experience for the huge number of people who are playing and avoiding these ridiculous politics. I'd rather have fewer mods that I know have an infrastructure backing available. When dayz lingor came out, I waited a while for it to gain traction before I added it. When vilayer comes to me and can promise an instant 100 servers to support it, I can't ignore it, I know it's good for my users. I have to make my decision based on the experience for the average joe who starts commander. I can only wish that more of the community could work together to make the ports and not try to hold ownership. With these ports, the creativity goes to the man who created the maps, not who added the loot spawns. If someone came out with something more original and it gained traction (I'm keeping a close eye on you SurviveDayZ), then there is clear ownership of what was done. If the first port of panthera did something special that I'm missing, more than just get there first, please correct me.

    DayZ Commander not working!!!!

Sounds like your dayz download is corrupt.. click the "reinstall" button in the install/update panel
  7. There are two sentences in my response. I want to talk to the original MAP creator directly and get this resolved.
  8. Honestly, I would assume that BI's agreement wouldn't let you re-copyright anything created for Arma2. That said, I am trying to get in contact with the original MAP creator to try and open a discussion and resolve this.
  9. I'm trying to figure out what this means for the lingor island mod too.... considering it's the same guy who made the map, and everyone liberally hosts it. I'm not sure why no one had a problem with this one being hosted by all the server companies.
  10. That's true. But how do I handle when two different people make the same map/mod? The first one always wins or the one that most people will be able to actually play right away?
  11. Believe it or not, hosting the mod files uses an enormous amount of bandwidth. ViLayer gives me 6GBIT unmetered (and more if I need) of bandwidth across multiple servers all for free. I think this is more than fair for a mere *optionally* clickable link in commander. Not to mention, ViLayer is a huge part of this community and does a great job hosting tons of game servers for everyone.
  12. It's important to me that the ~700k people who have downloaded dayzcommander have an easy/successful experience. if people install new mods via commander, and they can't join any servers because there are so few and the ones that are there are full, I do not consider that a good experience. One thing I want to add support for was requested here: http://forums.dayzcommander.com/index.php?/topic/73-custom-mapmod-package-manager/ I think that would open commander up more to up and coming mods.
  13. Okay. So sadly, I'm not as educated about arma2 as most of you might have thought and didn't do the research first before adding to commander. I very naively thought that all the maps that have been coming out (other than Lingor) were just standard arma2 maps with the dayz/zombies mod added. If there was any question in not respecting someone's license, I would have not included it. Again, I blame myself for not researching more thoroughly. I'm going to address this. My sincere apologies. Josh

    Help.

Don't override your settings, you shouldn't need to do this unless you are doing something like a RAMdisk. Be sure you launched Arma2 and Arma2OA MANUALLY first before running commander.

    Game Goal and advertising?

hey guys, how do I join the game

Trouble updating ARMA 2 OA on DayZ

I'd redownload and reinstall.. it looks like your game files are corrupt.
  17. dotjosh

Trouble updating ARMA 2 OA on DayZ

Uncheck override on all three of those boxes. Close commander Run Arma2, exit the game. Run Arma2 OA, exit the game. Run Commander again. Play
  18. Run BOTH arma2 and arma2 OA once before starting commander.

Day Z commander and Lingor installation

Make sure you click the "Clear all filters" button, and then use the mod drop down filter to specify "DayZ Lingor Only'. After that, do a Refresh All Servers and see what you find.

    Dafuq is this shite!!!???

  21. Actually In my next patch, DayZCommander will be able to park your car and do your laundry.... so then your statement will become false.
  22. Nothing about the server response allows me to determine the correct version of Dayz; only the arma version. I have to rely on what's in the host name is and parse it out of that. This can actually be somewhat reliable because most of the server hosts template out the host name based on version and settings. See here for more details: http://www.dayzcommander.com/faq#H Whats the IP:Port of your server?
  23. Let's be clear.. it's probably not dayz commander, rather his installation or misuse of my configuration :)
