I believe there isn't any cure from vomiting. Just eat and drink but not -too- much, stomach capacity is very low on this build If i remember correctly. -

Does the SKS bullets stray to the left like the mosin or does it hit dead on?

Shooting anything passed 200 meters with the SKS would be a waste, the damage drop off is too great after that distance. -

You might be logging out too quick, id say wait a minimum of 3-5 minutes after looting before logging out.

I believe the lowering of weapon spawns is a step in the right direction, getting a weapon shouldn't be the first priority. Food and supplies should be first. My buddy and I spent awhile on a 30/40 experimental server scrounging for food, looking through each looted house in each town while we made our journey west from spawning in Solichniy. We found a can or two per town and survived just fine sharing what we could. We made it to Stary and were bombarded with food everywhere. THEN after we were set up supplies wise, we went to look for weapons. The people who complain about finding no found are simply lazy. Also, there have been numerous times where I have killed fully geared people with an axe and/or shovel. As for the "being gunned down at the airfield" thing, I have ran through Balota and NWAF on a 40/40 server without encountering a soul. I actually have a higher percentage of survival on airfields than coast towns. -
I don't understand how this is "making the game worse." There has yet to be ONE time I log in dead. You are probably logging out way too close to hot zones or simply have bad luck. I have sat in a bush in balota for 30 minutes during the Balota warzone days to come back to my character alive and well. This is is no way making the game worse, just making it harder for people who are attached to their gear or don't want to deal with a firefight.

i understand dayservers being crowded, but why so few?

If you set your max and low ping to 0, you'll get roughly 500 or so more servers to pop up. -
Some times a bug occurs when climbing ladders which hurts or kills your character. You seem to have taken damage, at least you are alive!

If you're on the experimental hives, apparently they turned off fall damage. Or maybe just a bug.

anyone know the accuracy stats for the sks?

Not -too- sure about the actual stats from the game files. But from testing, it seems the shooting up to 200-250m is viable. Anything after that the bullets start to spread out quite a bit. -
The current implementation of the logout timer is trollish.

The current system works quite well, there have been 0 instances where someone has found me and killed me. There are a million places that are considered "safe." If you've been dying when logging out...then wouldn't you say it's partly your fault?- 162 replies

Yes and no...I usually go through every house looking for clothing that I need + whatever food I can carry then I leave on my merry way leaving behind tons of food in houses. A lot of people are discouraged when they see open doors and just move on without checking.

While playing on a server I noticed that they enabled the player position icon when viewing the map. So it is definitely available in game but most servers have it disabled.

SKS can use the LRS but I advise against it, it's not viable as a DMR or shooting passed 250+ meters.

Accuracy: From my experience from shooting the SKS, shooting roughly 30 rounds. It seems the SKS losses accuracy/a lot of dispersion after about 200+ meters. I shot 9 rounds at my buddy 300 meters away and about 3-4 bullets hit him. I was prone while shooting. Damage: At 200 meters or so, I killed my buddy with one shot to the chest, and 300 meters, it took 3-4 shots to knock him out, no death. So it seems the damage drop of is quite high after 200 meters. You can in fact use the long range scope with the SKS, although I advise against it, the PU scope is enough. You can't use the bipod on the SKS. As for the compensator, I haven't tried. So far I haven't found any loose rounds, only a 10 round stripper clip and a 20 round box which is similar to how the magnum box looks. Keep in mind, you CANNOT use 7.62 x 54mm with the SKS, while playing a lot of people said they couldn't load the SKS with it. The ammo the SKS uses is 7.62 x 39mm which is now in game.

How to play on the DayZ experimental?

Go to your steam library, right click on DayZ, go to properties, then go to the beta tab and choose "opt in experimental". The update will auto-update. When you get in game, put "experimental" into your filter. Have fun. -
I'm still wondering if the ammo for it ONLY spawns at military spawns. I have yet to find any ammo for it in residential buildings.

I haven't found any of the new ones pertaining to the SKS, but I've found a 10 round stripper clip for it, and a box of 20 rounds for it. Haven't found the bayonet yet. Also, you cannot attach a bipod to the SKS.

You aren't -really- forced to go outside the game and look at the map. Exploring and getting lost is the best part! I never used an outside map and I now know the map by memory.

The Long Range Scope's scope does not appear shattered when it's damaged, the only drawback to having a non-pristine scope is that the shot veers off to the left the more damaged it is.

Most like just like the mosin, hopefully be able to add a PU scope to it. Other games tend to make certain weapons over powered for no reason in terms of damage even though other weapons use the same caliber. If I remember correctly, in Dayz 5.56 ammo did 3500 damage, while the 7.62 x 39 ammo did 4500 (when using the AKM). And I -think- they made the SKS do more damage than the 5.56 ammo but less than than the AKM's 7.62 x 39 ammo damage.
