  1. So uhh.... Why exactly are you publicly posting IPs unauthorized by these players?
  2. Yesterday I was walking in the forest until I heard a shot right in front of me about 200 meters out which seemed like a sniper shot. I quickly swapped my M4A3 CCO for a CZ550 sniper in my backpack, and scouted the area. Soon after I saw a guy walking towards a deer stand nearby. Seems like he was shooting the zombies around it. Not me. I waited for him to get up in the deer stand for a clear vision, then shot him dead with 1 bullet. Honestly, I feel guilty about that because at first I thought he was shooting at me, but then when it was already to late, I figured he was no treat to me if I just ran away. :c
  3. This pretty much explains why I don't like this idea. I lost count on how many times my game decided to crash while I was running away from zombies, or trying to fight them off. If this was to be implanted, you'll see that 75% of the people will ragequit because their char died because of a stupid glitch/crash.
  4. If you have trouble targeting the wire, try to find one of the 3/4 bars that stick in the ground which hold the wire on it's place. That usually works for the menu to come up. Anyways, if it is just a single wire, why not jump over it with V? The wire is a good tool against zombies, even though they glitch through it most of the time. :c
  5. He means as in detected by other players. Using a gun, and players MILES away can hear you. Using a melee weapon, and no one will hear you.
  6. So, when are people actually going to use the search feature for once? http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/27549-guide-how-to-get-out-of-the-debug-field-alive/ Thank me later.
  7. See here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/27549-guide-how-to-get-out-of-the-debug-field-alive/
  8. The weapon will only disappear if your entire backpack isn't big enough for it. If you try to put a primary weapon (10 slots) into your backpack of 8 slots, it will disappear. But if you have a bigger backpack and not enough free slots, then it will drop random stuff out of your backpack to get space for 10 slots. That's how it works.
  9. Depending on what server you are, markers will ALYWAYS be visible for the entire server. Unless the server has them disabled in general, then you won't be able to use them at all. (Same as seeing your own position on the map, or setting waypoints with Shift-click.) So honestly, if you find markers with "Go here" or "Heli crash site!" or anything of the likes, I highly recomment you to NOT go there. Either there indeed is something there, but it is already been taken by someone else earlier. Or it's purely a trap, and you will be ambushed when you get close to that place. So once again: Don't listen to these markers, and don't use them yourself because other people will find your stuff. PS: Oh and indeed, markers are server-based. Meaning if you switch servers, you will find other markers. Or none in your case.
  10. Fire station and ATC tower are actually one of the most OBVIOUS places someone can be, hence a sniper with a little bit of brains does NOT go there, as the first place someone looks if they see a survivor/sniper are those two places. And how easy it is to grab your own sniper and gun them down on those towers before they even spot anything. The best places for a sniper are bushes on the side of the airfield, or on either of the far ends of the runway on a hill.
  11. So it happens to a lot of people that at first they play the game just normally, and the next day they log-in, they end up in the debug field. So what is this debug field? The debug field is an area 30 thousand meters away from the map where you won't find anything but hills, hills and more hills. No trees, no grass, no buildings. The only other thing you will possibly find close to your position is spawning and disappearing characters. These are people who are currently logging in on the server, and have their character located there before they are fully loaded. Don't try to kill these characters, as doing so will get you banned according to this thread: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=8302 How to get out of this place. Well, there is a hard way, an easy way, and a deadly way. - The hard way: You better hope for a map or compass or GPS. Go to a server that has waypoints enabled. Open the map, and set your waypoint to Pavlovo which is right about Kamenka which is the village all the way to the left/bottom corner. You will notice you are 30 thousand meters away, and directly west from it. So if you don't have a map or GPS, use your compass and go directly east. Have a long journey! You better not get thirsty/hungry. - The deadly way: Well simple, press escape and respawn yourself. You will lose all your gear though. - The easy way: For this to work, get out of the server and join Canada2. (Not sure if it works for 1 as well, so keep it for 2 just to be sure.) For some reason, this server always spawns you just on the edge of the map west from Pavlovo, only about 2000 meters away. So all you have to do is head east until you get to Pavlovo. Disconnect and rejoin the server you desire, and you are back! The only downside is that you are at Pavlovo, so if you were all the way at the North-east airfield for example, you will have to walk all the way back there. But hey, rather that, then losing your gear or having to walk an extra 30KM right?
  12. Might be selfish to ask, but can't someone sticky this thread? So many threads are added every day and this thread falls to page 2/3 super fast. And obviously, so many threads ask about how to get out of the debug field since they are to lazy to use search.
  13. Here is how to get out of the debug field the easy way: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=31784
  14. So kids, what did we learn today? Exactly. Don't drive a car to one of the biggest PVP areas of the game. <.<
  15. As far as I know all servers have vehicles in them. They are usually pretty well hidden either in random forests, or on the edge of the map where no one will ever come. Helicopters don't exist anymore. So don't bother looking for them. And if you ever find one, or see someone flying them -> Cheaters
  16. You can zoom in and out with SOME sniper rifles with + and - keys on your numpad.
  17. That save function saved the inventory of the vehicle in case the server crashes. Not the vehicle/location. And yes, vehicles are bound to their server, so you have to hide it somewhere and join the same server the next time you want to play.
  18. He's talking about Teamspeak3. A third party program used to communicate using your voice. Google it.
  19. Going to try what? Walk, or join Canada2? Because walking from there will take you at LEAST an hour or longer. Joining Canada2 and it will spawn you only 2 minutes out of the map.
  20. Wrong section. If you are a survivor and you are looking for a team: http://dayzmod.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=12 For bandits, go here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=28
  21. It's very simple. To browse in your backpack, there are 2 different ways to do so: 1. While finding stuff on the ground, use your scroll wheel and select 'Gear'. Once your inventory is open, double click on your backpack (Right half of the menu) and it will open it and display new slots where you can put stuff in by moving them to the right (left half of the menu). 2. While nothing is around, press G to open your inventory. Now if you double click on your backpack, nothing will happen. (You think). However, right now above the list of items you have you will see the name of your backpack, and some numbers. In your case: 8/8 This means the backpack has 8 free slots, and a total of 8 slots. If you had 1 item in it, it would say: 7/8 (7 slots left out of 8 total.) To move stuff from your main inventory to your backpack while nothing is around you, open your inventory like on option 2, double click on your backpack, then move everything you wish to transfer to the right as if you want to drop it. While having your packpack open, you won't actually drop it but you put it in your backpack. To confirm this really works, the text above the list of items should change: #/8 Good luck!
  22. First of all, I'm not entirely sure if this would be the proper section to ask this. I was doubting and thought this would be the best choice of section. So basically, first I had bought Arma2 combines operations on steam. A little while later, something went wrong and I had to get a new CD key, so I bought one off the official Bistudio website (non-steam version that is) and installed it. However, my DayZ character had quite some hard to get gear which I now lost since I'm not able to use that anymore because Steam is just acting weird. So my question is simple: Is there any possible way for me to use my old character on my new version/CD key of Arma2 OA?
  23. Hmm yeah it really was kinda obvious right? Anyways, it's obvious that I can't use my old CD key anymore, so if this was the only way, then it's time for me to tighten my shoelaces and start hunting again. :) I don't really bother that much anyways, regardless that all my items were legit. (Seriously, spawning stuff is just.... It breaks the game.) It's fun to start over again, having the experience in finding better gear. <3 And honestly, this experience is a good lesson for me: ESP = bad.
