It's not backwards compatible and the latest patches will render the vanilla game unplayable without a serious amount of troubleshooting.

I've been bumping into hackers constantly. I am also taking a break due to the rediculous nature of the exploits/hacks. Will probably return when the next patch is released. -

Making a thread about quitting will just get people making fun of you. Yet I agree with you, just uninstalled the mod yesterday and went back to regular arma for a while. After you play for about a month it just gets.... boring.

Vanilla Arma no longer works. [Current BETA Patch]

I've seen several topics discussing how DayZ now makes vanilla Arma unplayable without doing some work. With the old patch I had to do my research and get it fixed, but now it seems that the old fix of replacing the Battleye.dll files no longer works. Does anyone have a fix for this? -

For some reason when you tell steam to delete local content, then redownload the game, it returns it back to its original state with DayZ still installed. I've taken the liberty of deleting all files within the folder, and asking steam to verify the integrity to re-download all default files. Will post later if it is a fix. Also - please address this issue Devs. Your mod should not break the original product. -

I have tried every combination under the sky. Does anyone know how to revert to a factory re-install of Arma 2 using steam? If I delete and re-download it still comes with DayZ. A better question would be how do I uninstall DayZ? -
