yes its a slight improvement over the base model but its still a very low end non capable card for gaming. you never buy a ?50 series from nvidia as they are just trash, even more so when a 560ti will cost a few pints of beer more and almost double the fps in any game ever since the the new branding itts always been ?10-50 is not going to cut it for gaming purposes ?60 is the minmum you want for a gaming card ?70 is pointless if you can get a 448 560, or you are comfortable with manual OC's and getting the ?70 in line with an ?80 ?80+ is top end all the TI and extra memory BS is just there to confuse you, but the above is true about any nvidia release and almost true even back int he days of the 7000 8000 and 9000

thats more than likely the cpu graphics chip, im not certain about the mobile versions but as it says sandy bridge its more than likely the cpu dedicated graphics chip which comes with i7's and its alot worse than the 3000hd lol. the only other things you can try is a dxdiag or the detect nvidia hardware app, you could also try right clicking on the desktop and see if nvidia control panel is listed

just ignore him. go to control panel/system/device manager/display adapters if it comes up with 2 there then you will know for sure, if not you will likely have enable it, or you you might even get away with using the gforce scanner on the nvidias driver site as its designed to detect hardware, if its not disabled of course

not paranoid at all, the goal is for it to be a stand alone game, but i fail to see how its going to compete with arma? dayz has made more money for arma2 than arma2 likely did. a very high % of the 400k+ people playing dayz bought combined operations just for dayz not to mention all the free advertising and MAJOR press coverage for both the company the games related and arma3 itself

turn off hdr and post processing, helped with the light issues i was having similar to what you say

if you ant higher fps then turn post processing off, turn AA off and turn texture filtering to low. make sure video card memory is on default(regardless of what gpu you have) and go from there. if you still have performance issues you will then need to change the resolutions, these come in 2 forms normal display res and 3d texture res. 3d texture res takes alot out of your pc but in an ideal world you want this set to as near to 100% your normal display res as possible, if you cant then lower it but it will give a blury feel to the game

hard to judge from those pics as they are completely non comparable you need 2 same screens on the same graphical detail and location, not random screens :-P

exactly its like 14gig isnt it? quite alot. apart from that the game is not that price in steam for everyone its not needed for me, it was a dayz server and the correct versions of the beta patch for arma, the alpha for dayz? you could try updating battle eye which you can do from the arma2 OA/expansion/battleye folder

i think the key word here is MOD, its a modification of the base game. it is not out of this world that the base game would not work with the MODIFICATION files active its as simple as ticking the bloody box yet you moan about it? lol

really? why would this even be allowed as an option and how can you tell before hand? lol seeing a group of tents with alot of gear is nothing special, what is special is that 1 of their guys got killed and your still alive now if within those tents there was like 100 NVG's and weapons which are not in dayz, then yes it is hackers. as it stands its more likely you found a clan/groups base of ops and if the gear in the tents all matches items in dayz then take the best and get the hell out before you waste the chance

i have nothing against you personally or dont wish to insult you, but come on man its clear you have no clue about what stage this mod is at and what it all means, this is only your fault no one elses the current release is at the 0.1.7 mark if rocket uses the standard version set up. 1.0 would be release grade games you buy as "core game finished". fully expect this to be in alpha for atleast the next few months as they add in new game mechanics(until/if they switch over to stand alone game guess might be 3 months away and will reset the clock and still be in alpha due to possible new tech) alpha is usually reserved for friends and family and inhouse QA.. normally 99% of gamers would not get to play something so early on but as this is a mod it is not so locked behind closed doors as actual games are, also its worth taking note that this was meant to be a tech demo as a pitch not an actual complete game, at the start it was only expected for around 100 people, its now over 400k people of which a large % have no clue whatsoever thanks to some of the people who introduced this to the masses

you will be fine my mate owns 1 and can run all sorts of new games on it, its a good little laptop. just dont expect much fps or high settings. whatever you do keep card memory on default and turn AA,PP and filtering off/lowest

you mean the main arma2 menu? multiplayer i wouldnt bother direct joining a server through six updater

the 8400gs was a shit crad when it was released let alone now which is like 7 years later lol if your on a shoe string budget but want to be able to play new games the bare minimum will be a gtx560ti or the radeon 6850 as the guy abiove posted. its simply not worth you buying anything else, wait a few weeks and save up another $20-50(no idea how old or what circumstance you are/have). but whatever you do DONT BUY ANYTHING LESS and for gods sake dont buy a like 7 year old card which wasnt even designed classed as a gaming card back then let alone now dont buy anything else than gtx560 if you go nvidia gs = application running gt = a cross over to 3d gaming gtx = designed for gaming to put in simple terms. ie the guy who suggests the 550ti, just dont bother your better off waiting a few weeks and getting the gtx

It does worry me that we get such topics, but at the end of the day its people like which are not suited for alphas and the faster they leave the better all round if you ask me. this isnt a finished article, this is a test, there will be bugs for months to come..... its your fault to think otherwise or have an opinion of omg their are bugs which got me killed or ruined my enjoyment you did not purchuse dayz, you purchused arma2 for the privledge to play dayz....dayz costs nothing so you have ZERO entilement patches wil break the game, if this botheres you FO and play something else for a few days until it gets fixed these 3 points can be attached to almost any complaint about dayz

exactly depends what server and conditions, so i wouldnt go around suggesting something has changed or hasnt changed in the grand scheme of things based on your experience alone because it means nothing. cherno and electro will always be hotspots because of their location to the spawns and the amount of loot availble as for trust, its a shame but thats the world we live in nowadays

while its nice, its pointless you posting for him as it means people cant get the infi needed to help. there is no mention of his pc specs or if he gets errors trying to play the base game as well. i doubt anyone will try and help until he posts here with his pc specs and can reply to posts. missing strings doesnt sound anything like a modem related issue
