My friends and I have had bad luck in servers lately. Basically, here's what we're looking for: - American time zone, not inverse. - Fast, high performance with low desync. - Admins that know how to properly update and restart without wiping tents/vehicles. - No deviation from Rocket's design, such as enabling side chat. - WORKING Dierct Chat. - Not full all the time. If any players or admins know servers that fit those requirements, please let me know! I'd be very appreciative. Thank you!

They're for shits and giggles I guess, because they can't be transferred to the actual servers. There's no connection to the central database. Let 'em be I guess, unless they're doing hack testing. -

I initially reported this on LVG's server (US91), but I've experienced this in other servers since. This is not a localized issue, other servers have the same problem.

I've talked to as many people as I can, and I think my group has our Betas installed correctly. We've gone over it over 20 times with absolutely perfect step-by-step installations. I really don't think this is a problem with our beta installations... Anyway. I'm hoping that the admin for US91 is on these forums, as I'd really like to know if Direct Comms are working or not. We've been trying for a while and knowing whether it's the server or us would help a LOT.

So, broken bones are not healed by morphine. This is realfacts. Let's fix it. 3 levels of "breaks". 1. Strain/Sprain - Causes limp without painkillers, relieved with painkillers, heals fully over time. 2. Fracture (Current break) - Requires morphine to walk, causes limp without painkillers, heals fully over time. 3. Full break - Only from falling a very high distance, cannot walk without a splint and morphine. Limp while the splint is required. Splint can be made from bandages and wood. Must take painkillers the more you walk and exert yourself. Splint removed after 1 day, limp for another, fully healed after 3 days. I think this would add a level of realism to the current break system, and add even more cruelty for falling off of ledges =)

The admins at TX20 bit my head off earlier today for suggesting that they probably shouldn't be tampering with their mission files and re-enabling side chat. I recommend not playing on any server with side chat enabled. I have no idea if it's blacklist material, but it certainly isn't the way the game is being designed currently.

Hi everyone. I play on TX20, and while I love the server, I'm concerned about recent happenings. I noticed that even while the server's using Beta 93701 and 1.7.1.4, Side and Global chat is enabled. I asked (In side chat) what the what was going on. I know that side chat is supposed to be disabled, per Rocket's design. When I asked, everyone said "Oh yeah a Dev enabled it 2 weeks ago when we got the server."...I was surprised. The latest update wasn't 2 weeks ago...So I asked why. Nobody seemed to have an answer. The admins were not there to explain things, but this seems awfully fishy. I don't think an actual dev would intentionally give preferential treatment to one server... I'm invested in this server (Have a camp on it), and I don't want to see this fast and up-to-date server blacklisted or shut down...But I'm curious as to just what's going on here. Thanks to anyone who can provide an answer.

I imagine Rocket is in development hell right now with everything breaking every time he adds/fixes something else. Lighten up guys, I have a feeling this is just as frustrating for him as it is for us. If you read this, rocket...Dude you are a fucking trooper. Keep it up, as those of us who are NOT on here constantly complaining about an alpha are behind your experimentation 100% and understand that not everything will be perfect right when it gets released. I still can't believe this mod is a thing. Bravo. -

Sweet Tears... Rocket, no starting weapon is definitely the right direction to go with this mod. However, the only reason people are bitching is because we're having a harder time sneaking around the zeds. Here was my idea from when no weapons was proposed: Give the player a stack of rocks that can be refilled at any time via the context menu. The rocks do no damage, but do make a sound like a tin can or bottle. The player can now distract zombies without pulling aggro. Also, from what I hear, the crazy zombie aggro was because of the eye/body LoS problems. That's now fixed, so the aggro shouldn't be a huge issue anymore anyway. I still love you to death for keeping with this mod through the rage and tears. Know that you have die-hard fans out here who are still loving the crap out of this mod and can't wait to see it as a stand-alone product some day. -
Removal of Global/Side Chat Affecting Global Player Cooperative Efforts?

I know that title is a bit compacted, but allow me to explain. I'm all for the removal of Global chat, because I think it ups the immersion factor and will promote more social interactions between players. That's great. However, I do wonder how this is going to affect the few player-run organizations that we have in DayZ, such as Dr. Wasteland's medical service, the DayZ radio station, and various trading caravans I've seen. My ultimate goal in DayZ is to help set up some kind of trading post/medical clinic. Basically, a safe haven for survivors. Let's say it's all set up and good to go...But how will anyone know? How do we spread the word? Forums are great and all, but that's OUTSIDE the game. How does the word spread in-game? Radios will obviously be coming later, but I imagine they won't be common. My only thoughts would be some kind of bulletin board in cities/towns or Player Journals that are left around. I don't really know where I'm going with this, but I'm just a little concerned about how the removal of Global chat might hinder the efforts of those who wish to rebuild society. -
