New players hit big towns to start. Like Barnes101 said you just spawned who cares if you die with nothing. Be cautious in the cities. Laying down and crawling is the best way to avoid Zeds and players. Be paranoid and I'm sure you will get the hang of it. Spawning everyone with a gun would be ridiculous. Anyone can gather a kamikaze group and ruin plenty of people's day. Earning/finding a gun seems fine to me.

Make sure everything is up to date. Only other thing I can say is that the mod is still in alpha so don't be too discouraged.

The games only twenty bucks on steam. I'm sure you can scrounge up some cash.

It's not using alt f4. Im not shutting down the game just re logging into the sever. Zeds spawn when you spawn. Thats why the zed number in every server fluctuates. If he fixes this too then it won't make a difference to me. Just trying to help out the new guys.

Get another tent or vehicle to store your items. Tents are a little buggy in the alpha version of the game so bare with rocket and im sure they'll work well in due time. Tents should survive server restarts. Tents are unique to the sever you set it up in. Anyone can loot them if they stumble across it. To be safe just mash the save button before you log. Dropped items don't survive server resets. They do despawn and are unique to the server dropped on. Good luck and hope this helps. If I've said anything incorrect feel free to let me know.

If you're getting chased by too many Zeds you can always hit esc then abort. When you log back in the zombies will disappear. Use only in a super tight pinch as I think it takes away from the realism aspect. Good luck in your travels gents, just remember this game is all tactics. Keep low and be paranoid.

Yeah. You're technically still on the Chernarus map so its makes sense for him to have re spawned normally by the coast. Its just a bug that puts you way the fuck out there for no apparent reason. You can re spawn and die to fix it but if you have gear that you want to keep then head east. It only took me about 20 minutes to hit the forest and another ten to hit a town. It may takes a lot longer in upwards of over an hour. Hopefully that's not the case. Good luck, hope you have enough food and water to make it.

Might have solved this with a retarded temporary fix. When this happens I just delete the air_pmc.pbo file (don't worry, every time you boot the game it will force you to download a fresh air_pmc file). Switch CD keys via logging in the other steam account and activating the key by booting up ARMA OA once. Then I added this to the launch options in steam for ARMA OA." -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -mod=@Dayz -nosplash" (without quotes and note the space at the beginning. Now replace the Arma2OA.exe in the main folder (for me its E:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead) with the Arma2OA.exe in this folder E:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta (again this is my file directory, yours will probably be in the C drive) MAKE SURE YOU DONT DELETE THE ORIGINAL ARMA2OA.EXE FILE, rename it to something like Arma2OABACKUP.exe BEFORE you replace it. Just remember to delete the air_pmc.pbo file every time you switch CD keys. I did all this and it miraculously has been working like a charm ever since. Good luck and I hope this all makes sense.

Head east. It only took me 20 minutes to run out. You might get lucky. Although it might take you a long time. I would go for it.

Sounds like the debug plains. Head east and hopefully you hit civilization. Might take a while though.

Pretty sure your character is stuck. I would just respawn. If not head east hopefully you wont die before you hit a town or some supplies.

Its called the "debug plains" This happened to me. Just head east. If you have a compass then it should be easy if not use the sun or the stars to find your heading. If not the easiest way to get out is to re spawn/kill yourself. Hopefully you have enough food and water to make the trip. I got lucky and it only took me about 20 minutes to get out but I've read about it sometimes taking over an hour. But if your persistent and stay your path you'll eventually run into one of the western cities.

Bump. I have this same problem. Its very aggravating. My game worked fine when I got it from steam. But when I bought my brother the game on HIS steam account it all went to shit. I get this error every time I try and play now. Any help would be awesome. we both have ARMA CO with the PMC add on.

This would be amazing. You got my vote man. We need something like this for us not so computer savvy people.

Hey guys. Lotta useful info here. I made the mistake of buying arma 2 co with the PCM dlc for my brother so when can both have two characters seeing as how it only let's you make one per copy and we only have on computer we share. Now I have an ass load of error messages popping up every time I try to play on his account. It won't let me join a sever. Seems that they always have to do with the pmc dlc. If I uninstall the game will I lose my characters gear and such? Or does anyone know of a way around this. I mean if worse comes to worse ill just re install. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is frustrating. Thanks in advance.
