I think this game is verry realistic but there are some things I would want to change. Zeds shouldn't run in a zig zag pattern, I've never seen any Zombie movie with Zeds doing this. One more thing about the crawling or jumping zombies. Make em so they looks like their lower body is torned of and dont make em jump, just make em drag them self on the ground fast this would make it more like Zeds do in movies and how people look at zeds. Yes this is a game but what I thought was that this games charm was about the realism so please dont go away from this instead work on the realism even more. People who say that Zeds are not Zombies in the game and that they are infected people. No shit? So what is a Zombie? It is an infected human too and this game call the "Zeds" yeah, Zombies not infected humans <_<

Ah ok. I never turn on my flashlite if I know it's Zeds anywhere close. Don't know how far they can see it.

I do understand your frustration, I would be pissed as you were but then to make this game realistic we must understand that there are douchbags in real life too who might have done the same. If he was killing you all over again if you died and spawned at the same place it is another thing (dont happen that often though). We just have to deal with it. We always need to think the worst of people untill they proven otherwise. This is not how I generally work. I usually try to be nice and help people at first and if I notice that the person is a prick well then fuck him. I also try to scream "Lower your weapon or I shoot" ofcourse from behind cover. If he doesn't do this within 10 sec I shoot, I mean I have to. Its hard to work alone I sure know about that .Good luck!

Oh damn I was so happy when I found both the rifle and hatchet at the same place, this is my first weapon I ever found after playing for 5 days. I thought of using the hatchet for choping wood mostly hmm but now it seems I have to choose or take the risk of loosing my rifle but then as it is right now I can't keep em both. The thing is, hatchet is not that good against other players who shoots at you so this is a hard decission..... I wish they would fix the thing with the risk of loosing something you drop if its not a flat surface. I mean its not that realistic that things get stuck in the ground when you drop em unless your superman and throws it 20 feet into the ground.

Thanks that explains my confusion. I go so much on realism in this game so I thought. Of course I must grab what I want to throw. So for the hatchet thing the way to switch between rifle and hatchet to use the hatchet in some positions and then quickly change to rifle if I need to, I need lots of space in my backpack so well, I will use the hatchet for one purpose, to chop wood but I will be afraid of loosing my rifle in the woods if I drop it. Heard people who said that the best thing is to drop things on a flat surface and thats rather impossible in the woods :P

So if I get this right. Just press F and hold down fire, release when you want to throw it. This works with a rifle equiped or no weapon equiped at all? With a gun equiped, its buged so keep away from that? Right? You dont need to equip the can/bottle as you do with a weapon? One more thing while I'm at it. I have both an hatchet and a rifle but I can't seem to equip the hatchet (think of using it as a weapon when I wan't to be silent).

Ah sounds good but how do you throw cans and bottles? Do you just drop em cause I can't find anyway to equip it? Do you use the same button as the one to throw a grenade in arma 2?

Well my short story goes like this. I played when it was dark (rather scary) and in the woods I could hear flyes buzzing. I went in that direction hoping to find some nice loot on a dead player. There were alot of flyes buzzing all around me so I thought YAY! There must be several players dead here, poor guys. I couldn't find any. Well it was verry dark so I turned on my flashlight (didn't want to do this at first cause of the easy way of getting spoted). As I turn my light down on the ground I see loads of bones, skulls, arms and rotten flesh. I was like.....wtf! I've been walking alll over a massgrave!

This might be a bit hardcore but it would be quite nice if you needed to sleep sometimes but what I mean is that you sleep when you logout but if you play for like 8 hours in one session your avatar should slow down and after like 12 hours have blurry sight from time to time. If your off for like 2 hours, you also get 2 hours sleep. Haha I know this is a bit over the top but I would like it somewhat ^^ I also think this is hard to implement into the game but anyways, just a sugestion

Yeah well, as a said a bit over the top, I just love the realism in the game so my thoughts sometimes carry me away like I've just smoked a big joint :P The pee thing! Yes yes! JK ^^

Thanks for the thought though. No my economy sucks so can't do that but one friend of mine bought Arma 2 combined operation today to play Dayz so now we only have to get this fucking game working, have spent 7 hours trying, with mine I had no problems.

My friend bought the retail Arma 2 combined operations from the link on dayz.com. He installed the game and then downloaded six updater and used six launcher. It installed the newest version 1.7.2 but when he tries to launch a server first it comes up a text in left buttom corner two or three rows white and fourth or third row in red (it gets so fast you don't have the time to read it) after that he gets an error saying; "Addon 'dayz_anim' requires addon 'CA_PMC'" after that he ends up on the main menu of Arma 2 operation arrowhead. Under the logo Arma 2 operation arrowhead it says; "arma 2 beta expansion @Dayz". It doesn't launch the server as mine do. Does anyone know what's wrong? We have installed it twice now.

Thanks a lot mate. Used six launcher the last time, the same as I did at first and for me it worked but I bought the, seperate, OA and Arma 2 so as you said I have everything in the same folden but he have two one for OA and one for Arma 2. I will try out your guide though :)

He installed everything so yes he have two folders, one Arma 2 and one Arma 2 operation arrowhead, @Dayz is in the OA folder.

So if you bought the combined operation it should work?

This might be a noob question but how do I see my FPS? I have looked everywhere on the screen but can't find it so I bet this is something you have to turn on right?

Yes and the positive thing for the hardcore players is that they can loot all bodies of non hardcore players who dies of Zed masacre :D -irony-. Ok I know where your heading but as someone else said, not everyone wan't to team up and well I do but it's not that easy to get good people that works together as a group. I try to get friends to buy Arma and play the game but well, not that easy either.

I do agree with you on the patience thing but I really try to be patient but even if I prone and wait, usually one Zed get my from behind or somewhere else. Yes, I do agree that I'm not good at games like this but I love the game and I think the earlier version was more balanced between hardcore players and normal players cause I couldn't hear anyone of even the hardcore guys complaining about the game being to easy but now most of the people, even the ones that's good at this game complains. I don't mind to try severel times nor learn the game cause thats the fun part but when your stuck and die all the time, tries different things but it just doesn't work it just makes people bored. The good thing is, that it doesn't matter that much if I die cause I'm not able to get some good gear anyways :D
