WELL, This is how it went down at the NWAF

    Should have combat rolled
  2. I reckon it would be fun, but not as part of the game. Maybe if there was a dedicated server for zed vs survivor. A server I was on had a hacker who zombies himself, it was fun to try kill each other, would love to do it again, just without the hacks of course. Only hacker who didn't kill me :)

    I disagree with this suggestion

The point of ending with bracing for shitstorm was not to belittle my own opinion, but because I know it's a topic with people on both sides of the fence. I could picture it getting quite heated.

    I disagree with this suggestion

Exactly, playing just to die would be silly. Definitely make it harder, but not so hard the game is unplayable.

    I disagree with this suggestion

I agree food and drink and gear should be rare, but not to the point that some people are suggesting. Not rare enough that you have a high chance of dying of starvation or thirst. I'm also not suggesting people put zero effort into avoiding zombies. Just meaning that despite peoples best efforts, if you're raiding a city, chances are at least 1 zombie will see you at some point, crawling or prone. If that zombie can catch you and kill you in 2 hits, then a zombie catching you means certain death. And i definately agree that you should havr to put work into avoiding zombies and surviving, I just don't think it should be so hard that the work is all for nothing. That's not to say the game is currently that hard, not by a long shot, just meaning I don't see what the point of playing would be if that game was as hard as the small group of people suggest.

    Zombies

Lots of people want zombies to be more dangerous, but remember, this is a game. If zombies could catch you, it would be death every time you agro'd a zombie. No fun playing a game where you're guaranteed to die and have only a teeny tiny chance of making slight progress. May sound a bit harsh for your suggestion, but I'm thinking as well about all of the people who want there to be hardly any food on servers etc. Might even go pack a sad and make a thread about it. :P

    DayZ Solo or Team?

Agreed, I play alone but have people who will help at any given time, as I do for them.

Game is a challenge again, good patch!

Very happy with the new patch! :)
  9. I agree with most of your post, except the bit about a player constantly moving around saying friendly. Since saying friendly doesn't mean shit most of the time, if I meet a player that have their gun pointed at me, I'm going to say friendly, and keep moving around, If he doesn't lower his weapon within a few seconds, I serpintine it outta there. If he does shoot, I either keep running (if he can't aim), or turn around and try take him down. (If he's a good shot and my death is anavoidable.)

    Good or Bad?

Chances are, people will kill you. If you become a kill on site kinda guy, you will become like the guy who your post is about, It just depends on whether or not you want to be that person. As I saw in an above comment though, Airfields are kill on site zones, even for friendly players most of the time. It's just how it is. If you snuck in and came across him, you may have had a chance to kill in self defense, but you probably would have scared the shit out of each other and the outcome would have been the same. The way I decide what do do is trust my gut. If I see someone and they don't respond to me on group chat quick enough, I will either run and hide or kill them. Other times, I will help them, give them med gear and beans and send them on their way. Depends on where I meet them, what weapon they have, and whether they have a name with numbers in it (heh).

Do you want Wild Animals in DayZ? Yes or No?

I agree with the above comments, I only vote yes if the animals aren't always hostile. And wild wolves, if added, should be pacified by meat before they attack (if they attack). If there was a 10sec period before animals attack where you could either run far enough enough away or drop meat and run, that would be cool. As a lone player, it would be hard to survive in the woods if instead of finding meat to heal my low health, I find a pack of wolves. So I guess what I'm saying is, yes, add animals, as long as they aren't certain death for a prepared player.

    Multiple CHaactes

As you play on Orcon servers (I don't know how, hacker central) you wont be able to create a new character to take to another Orcon server. You will only have your one character, if you play one server and log out on Lingor Island on an Orcon server, you will log in on Lingor Island on all Orcon servers. If you log out of an Orcon server then log into a private hive, you will log in as a new character on the coast, and that character will only be good for that hive or hive group. If you go back to Orcon you will be back on Lingor Island. Hope that makes sense!

    Have you been robbed?

I got robbed yesterday. I've had people 'try'to rob me before who have been too busy laughing to actually do it, but this time I got robbed. Massive backpack, full of car parts for my car and some food and drink. I see in side chat "Any players in Cherno?" and take that as my cue to stop looting and leave. Just as I'm leaving, I look behind me to see if there are any zombies in tow and see I'm being chased by a guy with some military grade gun. I'm all 'Who are you?" over direct chat while zig zaggin away, and he says "Lie on the ground, LIE ON THE GROUND!" "Ok" :( "I'm gonna need you to drop your hatchet and your backpack there" In the meantime I'm being SWAMPED by zombies, so I drop the bag and tell him I'll leave my backpack for him and take my hatchet and get outta here. I proceed to run away but need to bandage, so I start bandaging about 80m from him,a nd he types "Go. GO!" Being in the motion of bandaging I couldn't, and he killed me. Luckily I spawned right back there, went to my body and took a weapon off my body and got a few shots in him. Sadly it was an M9SD, so the shots were ineffective :(
  14. Hate to break it to you dude, but you could have eaten the meat raw without cooking it. You would have saved a lot of time and death, antibiotics are much easier to find than matches so dealing with infection form eating raw meat wouldn't be much of a problem at all.
  15. I've seen plenty of negative feedback about the update because people think it's unfair that the zombies bugged hearing is fixed, and then complain about zombie bugs not being fixed. People seem to think it's unfair that cows have 6 meat steaks instead of 8 and that rabbit meat restores 400 blood. [Edit: who the hell hunts rabbits anyway] But I'd like to start a thread for people who actually like the new fix, who think it brings it back to where it should be, where you have to survive! Rather than people spawning on the coast, heading to Balota and getting military grade weapons, going to Cherno and getting all the food/drink/other supplies they need in the first 15 min of game play, they will have to get what they need and avoid the cities, and think about how they are going to survive. Sure you have a slightly higher chance of getting an infection if you don't cook your meat or don't boil your water, but considering that Antibiotics spawn almost as commonly as bandages it seems there really is no reason to complain. It's easier to treat infection now than it was before the update, even with the added dangers. So here's a thread to share what you like about the update! Negative feedback is welcome, but people wanting to post hate speeches about it can complain on one of the other 'I HATE DAYZ NAO' threads. I personally will be playing Day Z even more than I have been now, because it's new and exciting, and now even challenging :)

Who else LIKES the new update?

I'm sorry you're so bad at at the game you have to call everyone that's actually succeeding at it a liar. I was genuinly interested in your point for the first few comments, but you sound more and more butthurt.

    Need Medical Assistance?

With a signature like yours, I wouldn't trust you to give me medical assistance. Especially not when there is already a thread like this up and running with white-listed medics to help. Sorry dude, no go.

Who else LIKES the new update?

I'm not sure I get what you mean. Why would any new spawn have that stuff before they hit town? I only ever have a flashlight and a pack of painkillers and a bandage when I hit town as a new spawn, if that. There are ways of looting a town without getting killed, even if you are a new spawn with nothing. It's just harder because you have to re-learn how to avoid zombies. Loads of people posting on this topic seem to have already learned how, maybe you just need more game time.

Who else LIKES the new update?

[Edit: My bad, I left out half of the quote, pretend the rest of the quote is there!] I've seen you post this onto other threads. I'm wondering, since it's only this one same thing that you keep saying in each post, have you actually tried more than once? Not meaning to sound aggressive, just curious. It's a lot harder, for sure, but it's do able. I've been finding few vehicles and good loot around a few of the cities the past few days, and since this new patch came out I have been able to continue to go into the towns to loot and repair vehicles without dying. I also make a point to take cooked meat with me when I go looting, because as you say zombies WILL find and hit you. But it doesn't have to be a death sentence It's all about planning your survival.

    Berezino - A story

I only came across this thread today, loving your stories dude!
  21. The only thing I don't like about the patch is as the person above me said, no amount of planning and stealth can get you through a town or city. But it's bearable to find a hatchet, hunting knife, water bottle (I've noticed more spawn than before) and antibiotics and head to the woods. As long as you have a means of getting food and water and treating infection, everything else comes second. It makes you focus on basic survival first, rather than head to Cherno and get decked out with a sniper, big backpack and all of the food drink and med supplies you could need in the first 15min.

    I love DayZ.

    True story?

    After DayZ (CorridorDigital)

That was really good! But it's a shame he didn't take the car at the end!
  24. I have grenades, smoke bombs, a bus, a motorbike (each fully repaired and fueled), antibiotics, an FN FAL and a few other random medical items. I was wondering folks, what would one be willing to trade for such items? Not necessarily looking to trade, just interesting to see what you all think it's worth!

DayZ SA: One Key One Character

I'd prefer being allowed to have 2 names, as my partner plays as well. He kills everyone, and I like to help people out.
