I'm lucky to have found a vehicle, so I can store my gear in it like a tent, since tents are so buggy. Not as many spaces, though :(

So if I spawn into a server and I'm in the middle of the ocean, I can't die, I have to swim to the mainland? Damn it, I've spent 15 minutes in the ocean waiting to die when I could have started my massive journey to the coast

Normal Day Z is PvP, yes, but not like this in my experience. This would be a fucking great unplanned in-game moment! Imagine, you're running around Cherno, but you see a suspicious number of zombies in the area, so you climb to the top of City Hall to get a better look at what's going on around you. You get to the top, pull out your binoculars, and see about 5 other players, all running around with hatchets. You think "shit, I'm in the middle of a hatchet killer gang war! Better get my ass outta here." But as you turn to leave, you run into another player climbing up the ladder. You take him out, no biggy. But before you can leave again, another comes up, and another! They take each other out, you got really lucky this time. You loot there bodies for bandages, because god knows you need those in melee fights. But when you look up again after looting the bodies, you find yourself surrounded by machete wielding psychopaths! You take out two and break the legs of a third, but find yourself taken down by a fourth player. And as you struggle to regain consciousness you see the machete gang turn on each other. Before you die, you think, this was an unfortunate and confusing, but fun experience. I'm going to go post about it in the forums. Then you realize that that would never happen ever and are thankful that RhinoCRUNCH put together videos like this for your entertainment.

You're in the complete wrong area. There are lots of threads like this one in the Troubleshooting part of the forums. The answer to your problem is posted there many times.

I see a lot on this forum suggestions for making the game harder. People who want their to be barely enough food on the server for a player to scrape by, that zombies should be able to kill in 2 hits, that medical gear be very rare and (I've just read on another post) that zombies can catch you. I understand making the game more realistic (as much as a fictional event can be realistic) is what some people want, but if a zombie apocalypse was real, WE'D BE DEAD. Most of us would be, you paranoid crazies would be doing just fine ;) Point being, what would be the point of a game where you have a 90% chance of starving to death 30min after starting the game? Why play if it's impossible not to agro zombies because they can see/hear from far away, and an agro zombie will catch you and kill you? Making the game harder is fine, but I think some people take it too far. In order to be able to survive in this post apocalyptic world, it's going to have to be easier than if an outbreak was real, because there's no point playing a game where you know you're going to die within the hour. I don't mean for this to sound like an angry rant, and I understand not everyone thinks the game should be impossible to survive, I just don't understand the people who do. [bracing for shitstorm]

I can't even remember when I fist heard of this mod, but I was obsessed with it in an instant. I only played my boyfriends Left 4 Dead game before this, but I saved until I had enough money to buy Arma 2 because I knew this mod was better than anything I'd seen or played. And despite it's ups and downs, I'm still proud to be a part of this community a year on, and am in love with the mod just as much as when I first played. I haven't come across a game that (in my opinion) is as good as this mod, and it's only a mod! The hackers were all part of the fun for me, as frustrating as they could be, because they were the only threat at the time. I thankfully came across very few script killers, most of the other hacks I could survive. Beating a hacker who tries to kill you and destroy your vehicle/heli is a pretty good feeling! Not much you could do about script killers, though. ...Why am I talking about this? There was a point to this comment that was relevant to your post, but I lost it. Sorry

Kumando, stop and listen. The devs are working on other hearing issues, and in the meantime, you're going to have to put up with zombies being easier. Tough shit.

I know! Rhino's Crunchy Nut Bar anyone? It's a shame some people don't like thee new food items, canned muffins only seem silly until you see the model for the can! Although I agree some of them are taking away from the seriousness of the game. But damn, they look tastey! If I were in a 'real' zombie apocalypse, I wouldn't mind eating those.

If public vanilla servers aren't enjoyable for you, find a different one. EZPZ. I think that is what your post is about, I'm not really sure, though :/

THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING MEEE

Post patch tents aren't holding their items :( I spent a day gathering food and med supplies to put in my tent up north, but the gear disappears every server restart.

I have two tents at my base, and I have some old gear in there that is fine. But whenever put new gear in and log off, it's deleted when I get back on. I assume it's when the server restarts that it gets deleted, but I'm losing a lot of stuff I need (all of my food and spare car parts/fuel). Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Is it something I'm doing/not doing or is it a server issue?
