I like most of the new patch, though it was hard to gt used to reacting to zombies in a different way after being able to deal with them easily for so long. The only think I don;t like is that getting an infection is pretty much death for a character when the rate of infection is huge. Infections should happen and antibiotics should be rare, but maybe not quiiite so rare. It takes it beyond difficult to almost garanteed death in that respect. Loving that zombies are harder though!

Zombies are stupid, you can have a group of them chasing you and lose them in no time at all. ezpz :)

I like the idea of self bloodbagging. I think it should be a fairly slow process though to avoid exploitation. It should have to be done away from other players and take a good 30 seconds or so so that it can't be used in combat.

New Zealand would be a great place to host a zombie apocalypse! Not only would you have zombies to deal with, you'd also have Black Power and the Mogrel Mob to defend yourself against! You could use a Taiaha as well, +10 damage if you pukana while using it Not dissing the suggestion though, I agree with it, just giggling at the silly images I've put in my head.

What the zombies can and can't do in the mod is pretty limited by Arma, I'm sure the stand alone will sort that out. There are other DayZ maps that make zombies pretty lethal, it's worth checking them out if you haven't already.

There are so many things wrong with this. Firstly, stop blaming Dean Hall for things he has no control over, like whether you spawn with a gun. All you have to do is join a server with a starter load out, there are PLENTY of them. There are other Day Z maps are the same as DayZ but with a different approach to zombies and loot, so you aren't going to have to wait for someone to clone DayZ after all, you'll just have to find a map that suits you. Zombie hits can give you an infection so scratches are dangerous as you say they should be, and a can of pasta cannot heal you like you say they do. You shouldn't have to run for 5min to get zombies off your back either unless you haven't had much experience. You're right that you aren't asking much, as you are not asking for anything not already implemented. Note: Dean is working on the standalone now, waiting for him to do anything with the DayZ mod wont do you much good.

You clearly are playing on bad servers. Day Z is fine, the servers you're playing on are the problem. Join a server that doesn't have 500+ vehicles and full starter gear. Problem solved.

I was unsure if this should go in Off Topic or not, please move if I've posted in the wrong area. So, I'm wanting to record my Day Z gaming experiences, but I'm not sure what the best program to use is. I'm looking for something free or cheap and compatible with Windows 8, but a quick Google search hasn't told me as much as personal experience from others can. If you record, what do you use? Any recommendations?

Got one more problem for you guys. I've tried both Fraps and DxTory. Fraps is working ok, but DxTory has waaaay less FPS drop than Fraps. Only problem I have with DxTory is, while I can watch the playback fine on VirtualDub, I can't edit the video because even though it's an .avi file, it's been modified in some way it seems and is not compatible with any video editor I've come across. It's in xtor format which seems to be exclusive to DxTory. If there's a codec I can download for any video editors that will make them xtor compatible, I haven't found any. Fraps works ok, but would really love to use DxTory as it's much better.

Does anyone have experience with xFire or Razer Game Booster recording? The man of the house has informed me he has those on the computer already and that they may be suitable, but as they are free with other programs maybe they aren't quality.
