Spawned on coast with all my gear?!

it's probably this new feature/workaround of 1.7.2.4 you spawn at coast when you would have otherwise spawned in debug whatever -

when you launch the game what do you see in the bottom right corner? I'm not sure what you are trying to update, since 1.7.2.4 and 1.62.95417 are the latest versions of DayZ and beta patch respectively

in the new patch you should no longer spawn in debug areas.. and if you don't want to spawn in a wall then don't log out in a building -

rocket said that he will release the update on Wednesday, Thursday or Monday.. no update on Friday/weekend (link) nevermind, patch is out also the 5 seconds timer is for testing.. I'm pretty sure that he will increase the time if the method proves to be working fine

can you paste what exactly the errors say? or take screenshots? if you did everything what Jimmy James listed you shouldn't be having this problem (missing content).. maybe you missed a step or made a typo or something -

I've been kicked by BE too when I installed new beta patch too quick after it was released.. try to give it some time or install older beta (95248 or 95208) you can also try to reinstall/update BE but I do not know if that will do anything -
changing your weapon when chased by zeds is never a good idea.. either pull them even further so you can kill them with primary or use some bushes and trees to lose them (even if it is only for a while, it will give you time to swap weapons)

the problem is that many server owners don't update to test the latest version and instead stick to older "more stable" version (oh noes, zombie aggro too much in the new version, let's stick to the old one) -

I believe red cross means that YOU are running an older version (since I am able to join servers running older beta than mine) -
I've seen this in Cherno, zeds just standing in the streets not doing anything.. I think they are somehow stuck because they are unable to reach the person they aggro on for some reason (unreachable, died, DCd, ...) but it's only a guess.. never seen that anywhere else, only in Cherno (with snipers shooting left and right)

some say they aggro too much, some say too little.. I think it all depends on how familiar you are with the mod and zed behavior.. their vision range during the day is quite long

zombies have super vision during the day, try to stay in cover and out of their line of sight, patience is the key.. if you need to cross the street or some larger area without cover you can try to crawl.. if you pull some zeds when leaving a village (due to lack of cover) you can lose them easily in bushes and trees with low branches (they break LOS and also dampen the sound you produce I believe).. you can also easily dump them in a barn or a house with two exits

chemlights dont attract zeds.. friends and I have no trouble playing at night and none of us have NVG.. we use flares, chemlights and flashlights there are ways to combat night but most people are afraid of using them because they might become easier target (tbh I've died more times during the day than at night)

sounds like an old beta version.. look at the bottom right corner, what does it say there? ("Version" and "Required")

helicopters are disabled for a reason.. they will be added back into the game when they are ready

set max ping to 100 in filter and you should get only european servers in the list.. most of them have european time
