Even though I'm against people returning to bodies after dying to re-get their gear (and every after-death safety net, tents, cars), finding a body makes for great situations in-game. I love finding one and taking stuff others haven't, then figuring out how he died, and realizing "oh shit he was shot recently I gotta get out of here".

If there is sidechat, I'll usually say I'm friendly, announce what weapon/pack I have, and leave or sometimes make friends. I tend to KoS bandits if they have any weapon that can kill quite effectively, even common ones like enfields and winchesters. If people, survivor, hero, or bandit are packing a double barrel or hatchet etc, I will never shoot unless they get close. I treat heros like survivors, as I've been killed by them before. If I see someone with something I want, or if I need something like matches, I'll kill them. If a group, I'll try to make sure they're all out in the open if I want to shoot them, if they have low-tier weapons, I'll join them or let them pass.

Completely depends on the situation. If he shot me or at me first, but I kill them, I'll usually get angry and halftaunt them by yelling "Look what you did, now my blood is low!" or something like that. If I tell them to stay away, and they come close and I'm forced to kill them, feeling is above. If I kill someone who turned out to be friendly, I'll say sorry, and try not to loot the real good stuff on them.

I do this all the time, if they're in an area with a fair amount of zombies, I'll shoot them until they are low blood and bleeding, or knocked out, and watch them die to the zombies. Sometimes they survive and get away/kill me though.

Going to the major weapons spawns (Stary sobor, nwaf) can be extremely dangerous with such a weak weapon as the bizon. Especially when you have no ammo for it. I'd recommend you check deerstands and barns until you get something decent, like a cz 550, enfield, or maybe get lucky at a deerstand and get a decent assault rifle. Then, you could put the bizon in your pack and go hunting for heli sites for ammo or another gun, and if you don't have space in your pack, just drop it and check stary or nwaf. Protip: If you grab a weapon, all the mags that you can carry without dropping other items will come with it. Use that to figure out what guns load what ammo.

Depends on situation. Up against groups? M249 is unbeatable, the RoF is devastating, and you don't really need a bipod unlike the mk48. Vehicles? M249 doesn't have the 7.62 that a mk48 has. Although, you can still down tires and get through windscreens with ease with the m249, so I'd pick one of those. Single targets? M14 has incredible accuracy, and high damage, so I'd go with that. However, the m4 holo can fill all of these roles. Nade launcher for groups and cars, good sight and low recoil with fully auto makes it pretty great in every way. If I could have any gun I wanted for the situation, I'd go with what I said above. Otherwise, M4 holo. Also, where the hell are all the AK weapons? I personally don't like any of them, and they wouldn't change my decisions, but I know some people would pick some of them, especially the AKM. Edit 2: Why am I the only person who seems to like the m4 holo that actually posts.

Should've kept one in your pack. The bizon is really quite good, zero recoil, nice sights, could probably headshot someone 200 meters away on fullauto. You could use it like an MG, to suppress people, due to large mags but it doesn't actually have any punch to it. Great for killing zeds also.

I don't think there are any humvees with mounted LMGs. There's the TOW, (laser guided AT) the avenger (Lock-on AA), the Mk19 (Automatic grenade launcher), the M2 (.50 cal HMG), and the M240 (MMG). Anyway, I haven't played dayz in a while, but here's my last memorable kill. I was looting in cherno, found myself a nice m16 in the firestation, and grabbed some random supplies at the supermarket. I had heard people saying there was a fresh-spawn shooting bandit with an svd at balota. Me, being me, hating unarmed shooters, I decide to go after him, and let him know this. I arrive at the hill near balota, and start scoping out the area with my binocs. I move carefully until I can get a view of the ATC, this is where he was apparently. I watch it for a while, before finally deciding to move in. I find a 2-3 bodies, somewhat geared with civilian weapons at the entrance. I hide under the stairs for a bit, and some guy says he's coming to balota to meet up with me for some odd reason. I tell him many times to stay away, as I'm hunting a sniper. He doesn't listen, and comes in anyway, forcing me to gun him down. In the process, I get hit once or twice by his AKM. I'm sitting there asking "Why the hell did you come in you idiot, I said to stay away", and "Now I'm low blood, and probably can't do shit" but he doesn't answer for a bit. I start moving up the stairs slowly. Second floor clear, no movement heard. I move up the final stairs, and I find a ghillie'd dead body. I check his loot, M14, cz 550, coyote, nvgs, gps, basically anything I wanted. I quickly take it all, and start running west, I get in a tree to talk about the sniper, saying that they must've mistaken the svd for the cz 550. Some guy offers to blood-bag me, since I was talking earlier about being low-blood. I don't accept the offer, as I'm too scared of losing all this good stuff I found. The guy I killed comes back onto the server, and starts moaning about how I killed him, saying he's gonna find me. I argue with him for a bit, and suddenly I get shot at by a sniper. Arma being an awesome military simulator, leaves on trees tend to stop rounds, so I survived. I start running as fast as I could NE, shots barely missing me. I finally stop near some small village in a tree, heart pounding. I explain to people my l33t advenchur, and log off. Edit: holy shit i wrote a lot

This. I have seen so many people complain about sidechat being immersion breaking. But Chat programs + these forums (trading, survivor hq, etc) somehow aren't? wut. Personally it doesn't affect immersion for me at all, sure it's more realistic, but the moments that happen with sidechat are unbeatable.

Well, I can't actually read or hear direct chat, so my opinion is biased. Sidechat simply increases the amount of fun I have in dayz. It seems to reduce mindless kos, It creates a certain feeling, that just isn't there when you don't have sidechat. banditlyfe is harder, quite challenging, knowing you will get listed as one if you reveal your name in some way. (being a backstabber, revealing your name to someone to stab dem backz, and getting called out for it) I don't find the bragging about kills, or moaning about death annoying. VOIP can sometimes be. The reactions of a person you attempted to kill, but failed to are pretty funny. More things seem to happen on sidechat servers from my experience, people giving rides in a pedovan and then driving off a cliff, suicide heli bombers, etc. If you want to play medic on a no-sidechat server, it just doesn't happen. There's just so much more to do with sidechat.
