It's better than an AMD FX-4100 which my friend has paired with a 6850 and he gets 70-80 FPS on high settings.

I didn't want AMD because of the BIOS updates that are fucked up sometimes and the issues that AMD has.

So basically I'll be playing on Lingor Island for maybe 10 minutes and all of a sudden my frames drop down to 5-9 FPS and I have to quit because the game becomes unplayable. What could be causing this? Is it because I'm using the in game server browser and not DayZ Commander? I don't understand because I can get 20-30 FPS in Chernarus.
