My first kill was a month ago. I was running house to house somewhere north of Zelenogorsk when I Alt-looked behind me. There were two guys tailing me: Some dudes with an AKM and a CZ550. So I thought, "Okay, if they were not friendly, they'd have killed me by now" So I ran into a red brick house, aimed my gun at the door, and tried to say friendly over Direct Chat. However, they stormed right in, and then I panicked and filled guy#1's face with lead from my own AKM. Guy#2 tails right after him, and he receives the same fate. I kinda felt bad about them, but in retrospect: They definitely saw me before I ran in, they were asking for trouble. After I looted some medical and an ALICE pack, I shuffled up north.

Most memorable moment in DayZ so far?
Seioch replied to banned's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I was doing overwatch duty while the rest of the group went into Berezino to loot. Two survivors pop out of the treeline and begin to engage the people in the town. I sniped them both in the head: 2 bullets 2 kills. They never knew what hit em. -
By the way, how would you trust some random person that joins your group? Or why should you trust the person that started a group? If someone random joins the group, they can text chat you to say... meet up 1 km north of Cherno. Once you two are fairly close, you can voice chat to get a feel for the other person's credibility and honesty. If the squad host shoots you, you leave the squad, join another one, and spread the news that so-and-so a lying asshole. If you are the leader and you see the other dude shoot at you, evict him, hopefully kill him, and spread the news that he's a lying asshole.

Forgive me if this idea has already been posted, or if this is already in ARMA2 and no one seems to use it. In case of short patience, scroll down to yellow bolded text. In Battlefield games, there is an option for you to join a "squad", which means that you are in direct voice/text communication with another band of up to 8 other players. This allows you to directly communicate with ONLY those people without having to listen into the cacophony of the all chat. Here's my idea for DayZ: A modified form of that system. By pressing a button, you are able to "create" or "join" a squad, and customize a name for it. Say, for example, I created a squad called "Seioch's Team" upon spawning into Elektro. Anyone in the server can see that I'm in a squad, that there is 1/8 people in that squad, and that it is open for anyone to join. I, being the creator, have the power to evict people from the squad, ban people from the squad, and password it in case that I want to have a private squad. In addition, to prevent "surfing" between squads as a means of locating targets, there is a time limit If you join a squad, you are able to use text based communications (without range limits, so I can chat to a person in Berezino if I were in Kamenka) and voice communications at an increased range. This chat is, of course, only observable to the members of the squad only. The point of this system is to encourage people to join up into groups of survivors or roving bands of bandits. Solo players, bandits or survivors, will have to squad up unless they wish to be outnumbered in every player encounter. Grouping up will also make the lives of ghilie suit snipers harder as they now have to take out more targets in order to make a "clean" kill, not to mention other members of that squad will be out in force to look for the assailant. Also, new players won't have to be shot on sight if they're part of your squad, and if they shoot you on sight, you know who shot you and then you can evict them from your squad, or, if you feel particularly evil, post here on dayZ forums their in game name and player ID and condemn them to perpetual condemnation as a traitor. I'm open to suggestions too. Feel free to leave comments or questions. Trolling and flaming will be met with rolling eyes.

Hmm... Strangely that sounds a lot... and a LOT... like my old Dell M1330. (2.4 Ghz Core2Duo, 2GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce 8400m GS) If that's the case, the answer is no. Source? I tried running it. Got like <5 FPS on lowest. Sorry dude.

Holy shit. Not 5 mins after I posted on here THE Dr. Wasteland met me on US 591. It took a while, but he patched me up right up and delivered like a BOSS. He's the real deal guys! He lives up to ALL the hype! -

I'm stuck in the northern Barracks in Northwest airfield after suffering the ninja door glitch. I need morphine and blood. Steam id: Seioch Skype: commander-and-conqueror Please help! My timezone is Pacific. -
why does DayZ take so long to load ?
Seioch replied to dgeesio's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
My guess that in the span of a couple of generations of FPS games the loading technology/algorithms has gotten more efficient. Ever played Battlefield 2? It's loading times is even longer than that of ARMA2's and it's older then ARMA2. -
What to do in this situation, PvP
Seioch replied to yankee_1776@live.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
That's how bandits play sometimes: They are hesitant to take a long shot with a rifle cause of ARMA's bullet drop and difficult aiming system. So it's not too uncommon for a guy with a long range rifle close the distance to get a headshot or heck, a hit. Here's one of my stories: I was looting Vybor ( bit southwest of NW airfield) when I turned my head around to see two guys holding an Enfield and a CZ tailing me into a lootable building. I crouched down in a corner, AKM aimed at the doorway, and tried to call out friendly. However, they just ran though the door and aimed at me. I pretty much shat my pants and rammed 30 rounds into their faces. Later, I felt like a douche for killing them outright without their response, but thinking about it, if they were tailing me they pretty much weren't looking for friends. Just my 2 cans of beans. -
Hi, to the two survivors I met today on Us 723: Congratulations! You are hereby my first (and second) murders in my entire career here on dayZ. I was the guy looting the red house north of Vybor, and I saw you two tailing me though the window. I tried to talk to you though voice chat, but I realized too late that my mic was disconnected. However, here's my side of the story: I, lone survivor, tailed by two guys with a CZ550 and a Lee Enfield. Not exactly a welcoming sight. So I had to shoot on sight. Sorry for making you lose your progress. I feel like a douche for upholding dayZ's often controversial "Shoot on sight" matra. :/ ~Seioch

GUI addition: Sprint/Walk mode (Example included!)
Seioch replied to Seioch's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Bump for visibility. -
My suggestion is simple: add a small graphic above the status graphics to show whether you are toggled to sprint or walk. Too many times I forget about my walking speed toggle and end up sprinting just far enough to aggro half of cherno. This suggestion effectively will prevent that and seems to be a very easy idea to implement. Walking toggled on: Sprint toggled on:

Sure, I'm down for that. Add me on Steam (Seioch) or Skype (commander_and_conqueror)

I'm pretty new to this game, but I'm skilled at close quarters combat and crowd control. Add me on Steam (Name: Seioch) or Skype, but I'm not a regular on there (commander-and-conqueror)
