I've always thought that there would be a really cool game element that players can't do themselves... Organized military. Or somewhat. There should be armed NPC's. Crazy civilians in the countryside rambling on, paranoid as we are. But also NPC bandit squads, NPC survivor squads, Chernarussian resistance. Survivors of Helicopter crashes that didn't get infected. Helo crashes would be that much more dangerous, but armed soldiers guarding them making them much more rewarding. Enemy patrols in the woods... You have to survive zombies, trained NPC's, crazy survivors who shoot others on sight amongst all other things. These elements will bring people together, like a real apocalypse would, one person cannot possibly take down a whole group of soldiers.. I think it would be cool if NPC's made bases, and occupied buildings as we do.

Aight now think about it. Everyone knows beards can be pretty damn cool, especially when you're a survivor hippie who can show he's such a badass because he's lived so much longer than anyone else.. SO, after you survive for one day, you get a 5 o'clock shadow. Two days you get a goatee. Three you get a pretty sweet stache and a John Lennon beard. After four, you look something like the picture below. Only awesomer. Of course there will be a 10% chance after four days that when you cook meat that your beard catches on fire.

Have you ever wondered why your legs were made of glass in DayZ? Yeah. Me too. My friend and I did a test, he shot me in the chest with a 1911 and it broke my legs. I also realize that if you fall off a Deerstand, you break your legs. Really? A whole 7 feet breaks your legs? Like twigs? Another great example. I was ->WALKING<- down a staircase in those red apartment buildings you see in NW cherno and Berezino. I was walking down the stairs and a zombie hit me, I got knocked out, was bleeding, and had a broken bone. Because I was walking down a staircase? I gues it's a nice attempt at the whole "Tripping down stairs and breaking legs" thing, but a zombie hit me through the backside of the staircase. Also, the zombies being able to phase through walls needs to stop. They manage to often break my legs THROUGH a wall. Those aren't so concerning as my latest one. Me and my friend were dicking around at Black Lake because we had everything and we had nothing else to do. So I go on top of these rocks, but I slide 2 feet into a magical indention in the rock face where I couldn't move. All of a sudden I broke one of my legs and lost 3000 blood, of course due to the inanimate rock's geo-illogical fury. It wasn't so bad, but I tried getting out and moving forward, then I heard like 17 crunching sounds like I broke my leg 17 times, got -11,410 Blood, and died. Thanks DayZ, for reminding me that I can't hike around mountains or rocks in a military simulation. >.> So my suggestion is this: -Make legs harder to break. If you shoot someone in a leg, that does not render the leg useless. To break a leg: Three 9mm, -or- Two 5.56, -or- one 7.62mm to break another players leg. Shotgun pellets should still be able to break legs easily, as shotguns don't have much in DayZ. Also adding the AA-12 would be pretty cool. EXPL rounds... :) -Perhaps an adrenaline system, you can move, and even move maybe faster, but later your leg will be rendered useless, same with pain, you don't feel it until later. -Zombies shouldn't break your leg if you're hit 4 times while already bleeding. That hardly makes any sense at all. Only the crawling zombies, and very rarely the hurled up slothing zombies can break your legs. -Lastly, I don't know if this has been fixed yet or not, but when a zombie climbs up a ladder, and you're in its way and you're on the ladder, it breaks your legs and you fall off. That shouldn't happen... at all... Especially since they climb ladders 5x as fast as us. On this point on, I'm adding random suggestions. -McGyver stuff. If you have an M240 and a Pickup, I see no reason why the M240 pickup bastard child cannot be made. -Kevlar/Bulletproof vests. These do not do anything to protect you from zombies, but zombies can damage them. Segmented for each body part (Within reason, your fore-arms cannot support kevlar or your biceps), kevlar or bulletproof vests should protect you from moderate arms fire to their respective regions. If you get shot twice in your thigh with a 5.56 round, the rest of your kevlar is not rendered useless, but only that section. kevlar and bulletproof vests will dehydrate you faster, make you hungrier faster, and slow you down slightly. -Make the M203 Flares useful. Make them last a long time, like regular flares. Give a crap excuse like they are chuted flares. :p or give them some other purpose, alot like the smoke grenades do. If you shoot a flare in the middle of a town, all the zombies will congregate beneath it untill it hits the ground. -Pullet Penetration; while this is likely an issue that has to be heavily modified within the core Arma 2 OA files, I think it's kind of stupid how an M107, .50 caliber, 12.7mm round doesn't pass through rotting flesh. -More areas that spawn high-grade weapons. Particularly Pipebombs, I've had a few good ideas with those.

They do have that, kind of. Have you ever gotten the Mountain Dew soda? It's one of the rarest things to find in a residential building. :P

please ad kill rewards on the game
hacksign5 replied to slasher (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Because the reward for kills isn't what you get that they have, right? -
They already have satchel charges that spawn in the barracks, and that actually is remote detonated C4. So... Yeah. But I agree with the traps thing. Not lethal, but just setting down tripwires that you can check if someones been there.

If you live for over a week you can just light fires with your beard hair. No campfires. You can also make Beardicades, like regular barricades as in sandbags and entrenching tool, except you need a "Kick-ass Beard" and a "Barbers kit" in your inventory. They will just be gigantic balls of hair that clog hallways inside of buildings. Beards also prevent you from getting cold, and they also have 6 of their own inventory spaces. For people that can't live long enough to grow beards, supermarkets will also carry "Neck-Baskets" which you can conveniently carry your items inside of a basket suspended with fabric around your neck.

This is the best thing I have ever read in my life. Good job man xD in all seriousness, this would be absurd and obscene. But if we're willing to take that next "Realistic" push, then sure. Maybe after 4 days of surviving you grow a beard?

I have the best idea ever: Inform people that there is actually a deathmatch mode for Arma? Whoa! No way!! But that won't happen. Because people like crushing peoples dreams like foil wrappers. So there should be some detrimental effects to a person after massive ammounts of murdering; permanent shakes from insanity. Or how about this, if a person murders more than 5 people, it's a "serial killer". They need to kill people constantly otherwise their characters mentality breaks down, blurred vision, audible mumbling, etc. That would be cool. Or you should be able to tell murderers with a physical appearance (Not a return to the bandit skin, although that skin was sick), like bloodstains.

Respawn Confirmation Box

I know someone who did this as well. But no real change needs to be made. Darwinism at work, you won't EVER make that mistake again will ya? :P -

Here's realistic; your buddies were 15m away, the bandit was less than that. He got there first. You have no-one to blame but yourself. I figured out early on that you learn more from death in DayZ than you do in life. Besides Mountain Dew. I miss that sweet, sweet Mountain Dew I died with...

Really? Theres a DayZPvP.com? How about basic knowledge of playing Arma. >.> Arma has a regular deathmatch mode... Haha I don't know why people forget that. I just got killed by an inanimate rock at Black Lake after I got 1,204 kills... They need to improve the physics before PVP. I'm too busy getting killed by rocks or breaking my legs by falling three feet.
