You can't make it private for even 10 seconds because your server gets blacklisted. Seriously. It's uncanny how fast they bring down the hammer on you for locking a server for 10 or 15 seconds.

I agree, except that it needs to be more transparent. If I got a little message saying how much time I had to wait to join a new server without spawning on the coast, I would say,"Well implemented". But the way it is now almost seems like a bug, idk.

It's the exact same for me. A method I've used to fix my artifacting probably 60% of the time is: 1) mydocuments / arma2 / 'yourname'.arma2oaprofile 2) ctrl f - scenecomplexity 3) Set it to 100000 (100,000)
