*Bump*

The Other Day my buddy and I were playing and suddenly he had a strange graphical glitch, his screen went black then gray and his computer completely seized up. So after a quick restart of his comp he came back to try logging into the same server and crap a server message saying something along the lines of "Sorry but you cannot join this server because you are running the wrong version of the server side application, if you are the server admin please contact ect..." so now he gets this no matter which server he tries to join. He's completely re installed Arma II, OA and DayZ twice now. He's completely re installed all his graphics drivers and such. Hes tried using Six Launcher/Updater to install/update the game. Hes tried doing it all manually. We can't think of anything else to try and fix this issue. Seems really weird the way it happened almost as if it were a hack but not sure. If anyone has any advice or knows anything please let us know. You can also PM me or Spindrift762 if you know anything about this problem. Thanks for the Help

The carebears that want PvP removed just complain to complain. They don't actually want to play DayZ they want to play a looting simulator. PvP is part of the core mechanic, and isn't a forced issue. PvP happens because the players want to PvP if no one wanted to there wouldnt be any. Just my Two Cents but IMHO it's never going to be taken out of the game and bandits will never be punished for killing n00bs or fresh spawns. It is what it is and people need to just deal with it or go back to playing Hello Kiity Adventure Island.

U can mildly settle your sights on a scoped rifle by holding the right mouse button. Doesnt settle them completely but at long ranges it gives a brief second or two to take your shot before the sights start to move again. Great read, glad you got a fantastic dose of PvP and that you and you m8s took your kills and deaths like men. I hate hearing about Alt+F4ing and Ghosting just to get a piece of shit gear. Yup I too have just spoke to Admiral Akbar and he has indeed confirmed "ITS A TRAP!"

first stand up and then hit Ctrl 2x to make sure your weapon hasnt been lowered, then try hitting F to make sure your weapon is selected. if that doesnt work try switching weapons to your sidearm and then back to primary. If you are seriously still unable to look down sites jump off a building

i almost never alt+f4 (unless the game freezes which rarely happens) and also rarely have to have use my task manager to abort the game. Starting over at the coast with all my gear after logging off up north has happened many times after quitting out properly and shutting down the game using the game menus

Been having this problem as well seems to happen every 2-3 times i log in... have ran from the coast to Stary/NWAirfield about 10 times now to link back up with my m8's only to log in the next day and be outside Cherno fully geared with 30 people on the server... hope no one is behind me with a hatchet!

also always possible while you weren't on the server someone came and took the vehicle you were waiting on and has saved it out in the woods on the edge of the map somewhere... vehicles aren't guaranteed to spawn on time either

Johnathan is just about the most useless Staff/Support member ever. After over a week of back and forths with him troubleshooting an issue with logins he basically calls my friend a lier saying he never did the install right ect. This goes on over skype for about 1 1/2 hours. Finally comes to see that we had been correct all along and that a character reset (what we had been asking for) was needed. Spent over a week dealing with this asshat telling my friend to reinstall the game 5 different times because he knew for a fact that it was a client not a hive issue only to find out that what we actually knew what what we were talking about and knew what the problem in fact was, but he thought he knew better, turns out also he didnt even know about hive data corruption. WTF this guy is worthless IMHO. oh and he finally aggrees that a character reset for my friend was needed and said it could take up to 24 hours to have that done... well guess what, that was over 72 hours ago and still no reset, so my friend is stuck unable to log into normal hive servers. What a moron.

There are about 500 Threads about this but here I'll go ahead and explain it one more time since you can't search the forums. Loot begins to spawn at loot points when a players signature comes within 200m of the spawn point. It also begins to spawn Zeds in and around that location at their spawn points. It can take loot anywhere from 5-10 min to fully spawn in. If you go into an area that should have loot spawned and there is none simply leave the area (100+m) and wait a few min and check again. To fully despawn a loot point you need to clear all of the loot from that spot and move it out passed the 100m mark (A player's signature that has the loot point attached to them leaving the server will also despawn the loot after a certain period of time) Wait 5-10 min and check the loot point again. Hope this helps and please learn how to use the search function on the forums as this thread comes up every week asking the same things by 100 different people.

unless that action kicks everyone on the server at the same time for one person either coming out of an unconscious state or from one player using an Epi it makes no sense. Like I said Ive not been unconscious nor used an Epi for weeks and I continually get kicked for Script #98 Restriction from Battleye every 5-10 min

Really? U sure about that or R U trying to troll, cause I haven't used and Epi or been unconscious in God knows how long, at least a week, and I get kicked every 5-10 min for this Script #98

you can go up and check pulse on them to check if they are dead or not so you dont waste half a mag making sure hes actually down

you clearly have not listened to any of Rockets interviews regarding 90% of the issues you are talking about here. Trading hubs, meaningful pvp, instances ect he doesnt want to include because he wants the players to be the ones to incorporate these things themselves. He had hoped the forums would work as a trading hub and believes any type of in game currency kills the ideas behind the game. Though you raise some good points and have some interesting ideas they more than likely will never be included or incorporated into the game due to the vision Rocket has for this.
