I got killed by a server hopper. I quit.

shut up youre retarded -
5 mil dots tall would make the target 400 meters/yards away if you assume the target is 72in (6ft) tall, that would be from the bottom of the reticle to the center of the cross-hairs

I think the game is trolling me.

if you dont have enough room in your pack (10 slots for a primary) it will destroy the weapon -

Snipers & Spotters, wanna know the range?
Acix replied to Sushidad's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You do realize that there are simple formulas using mil-dots to range a target right? but then I guess you'd have to do some math. I'm going to just copy and paste what I have already said in another thread since these posts keep popping up asking about how to range with mil-dots and how to use them. knowing anything about true target aquisition and ranging long distance shots helps, but i understand not all of you are Marines and most havent been hounded with training for this over many years so to break it down barney style for most of you look at this http://www.mil-dot.com/user-guide Using a mil dot reticle is a mathematical proposition requiring some calculating in order to arrive at a solution. For range estimation problems there are three components; target size (Tz), mils read (m) and range ®. You MUST have two of the three to arrive at the third component. Most commonly, the shooter will know the target size and by using the reticle will arrive at mils read, here are the formulas; Target size (in yards) x 1000 / Mils read = yards to target Target size (in meters) x 1000 / Mils read = meters to target To figure out the range with your target being known in inches instead of meters or yards For Meters: Object size (in) divided by 39 x 1000 divided by mils read Object size (in) x 25.4 divided by mils read helps explain how to gauge distance of targets using simple formulas used by the USMC, USArmy, USNavy and anyone using a mil-dot equipped scope... hope this helps -
Sim is a genre of game, you have flight sims, driving sims and military sims just to name a few, its considered a sim because it attempts to mimic as much real life accuracy as it can, with movement, weapons (ranges, kick, sounds, rounds ect), as well as eating, drinking, damage you can take, so on and so forth

Some PvPers come to DayZ for Easier Kills/Targets
Acix replied to bbilbo1's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Some targets are softer, IE fresh spawns, new players, ect.... however the core pvp element of this game and the more veteran bandits, provide a much more realistic, strategic and difficult form of pvp than in any other game, so gear up and stop being a soft target -
why so many different threads about this? Does this keep happening to you> if so you really should try not falling so much

Not too too many hackers as there are exploiters, and admins for the most part are good about booting people hacking however there are some servers that have hacking admins so its a mixed bag, more so than not its good to go and it's very possible to find a server you end up loving and call home. Best of luck to you if you buy the game, IMHO it's well worth it

On the topic of remorse/regret/guilt

First and Last thing I feel when I kill another player is RECOIL -
seems like you have two choices, 1. suicide and respawn(probably dont want to due to being geared) 2. ask for help(which you have done) and get killed for the gear you arent willing to lose by suiciding... seems like you're fucked either way m8... best of luck to ya Also just thought I'd throw this in, Morphine(needed to mend a broken leg) is a fairly common spawn that pops up at more drops than just hospitals... anyway pip pip cheerio good luck out there

Disconnect, change server, flank, reconnect. Simple solution.
Acix replied to Junos's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
totally agree with a 30 min cooldown if there is another server in between, ie On server A, leave to server B to flank then return to A, if they were to just disconnect or have some legit issue and come back to the same server right away i would say 30 is too much but if there is connection to a second server prior to returning to the initial server... fuck em 30 min is a minimum in my book... bog them down for an hour for all care -

My solution to anti-social behavior in DayZ
Acix replied to sPloOsH's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
you guys landnav like shit... -
Agreed totally! Tired of this shit it needs to stop and can in all honesty be stopped by the dev team if they stopped implementing crap like bear traps and nerfing weapons and changing zombie mechanics for a week and just worked on blocking this type of shit. This garbage pisses me off to no end as I play the game legit, never alt-f4 and take my kills and my deaths like they were meant to be, standing up fighting, its when asshole hacking pieces of shit that would suck at the game if they didnt cheat come and ruin legit pvp and such that I get fucking heated. Devs need to put other shit on hold and fix this before the community disappears and the devs are left holding their dicks saying what happened to our game

Thank you well said -
think they plan to re-implement the ghillie cause it should be in the game, in a survival situation such as the one portrayed in DayZ I could make a Ghillie in under an hour from scratch, ghillies are a necessity in this game and should be in there

sounds like its a bug issue with the AS60 and not so much range, would probably try reporting this as a bug and see if they can't get it situated

you can also try getting a mil-dot cheat sheet app for your phone, allows you to adjust target size with distance and adjust it to the mil-dot on the sight to give you a range, allowing you to make zeroing corrections more quickly but seriously the formulas are pretty damn easy to do in your head at the drop of a hat... simple division if you use 2000m as a constant and assume the target is 72 in tall standing. gets trickier when they go prone
