    Barbed wire removal

+1 on the aim for the posts when removing it. I normally scroll w/ the mouse wheel until the option to remove shows up. On a related note, when dismantling wire or tank traps, are they supposed to end up in your inventory or is it a random thing? I removed a bunch in Cherno (someone barb wired nearly every worthwhile loot spot in town) and never gained a wire kit.

How to: follow people who Alt+F4

I like DayZ Commander just for the filtering options. Wish SixLauncher would include stuff like this, especially the ability to save favorite servers.

    Most Creative Camp Sites

Found a small camp under a bridge on the east coast by Solnichny. I was actually looking for a good place to log off for the night and came across two under the bridge. One was empty, but the other had a ton of medical supplies & food.

    Chernarus Height Map

I'm assuming you digitized the contour lines on the map to create the color key? I used to do a lot of 3D terrain modeling and had thought about doing something very similar.

    Don't crouch near zombies

All crawling through town does is make it easier to get sniped. I slow crouch when I'm near zeds, crouch run otherwise and move from building to building, losing zeds in the process. If you really wanted to be sneaky though, stay out of direct LOS w/ them. Their visual detection is obviously much lower with their back turned to you.

    dayz loot finder

How is it different from looking at the maps online? Not like the on-screen indicators are showing anything hidden or telling you what is specifically spawned at that location. Now, if it told you there was a 1911 in this apartment or an SVD in this tent, it'd be different.
  7. Never Alt-F4'd from a death. Only time I'd even consider it was if it was from a hacker. Hell, I congratulated a guy at NWAF this weekend that popped me from across the runway on the OHK.

I've had enough dying. So now I kill.

I give myself 3 options when encountering survivors. A.) Unarmed - Don't kill. Probably don't have anything I need anyway. B.) Armed w/ melee. Don't shoot on site, but any aggressive action = shoot C.) Armed w/ firearm. Kill on sight no questions asked. When it comes down to it, you basically have a split second to make this decision. I've shot people before that had a crowbar or hatchet that were probably friendly, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. When the shoe's on the other foot and I only have a melee weapon, I try to avoid them or stop dead in my tracks. I'll usually salute or something humorous to see what they do. I've been spared more times than not by doing this. Most people don't want to waste the ammo or attract attention just for a bandage and some painkillers.
  9. Sounds like I have some testing to do when I get home tonight. Thanks again for the very informative thread.
  10. I find myself already creating a predetermined route around cities to get loot, but never even thought about the whole cleaning the entire place out thing. Good advice OP. Question. Is loot tied to the 'pickup' rather than just nothing being present? I saw someone mention earlier that you could pick up a loot pile and drop it right next to it to trigger the respawn. If that's true, could I go into one room, pick up the loot pile and drop it in another room in place of the loot pile in there instead of dropping it outside the building? Guess it's not a big deal, just trying to get an idea of how I can speed the process up so I don't get caught by a noob w/ a Dinner Bell. B)
