No we are recreating it on another server / other spot. We'll release information as soon as it's finished.

No he doesn't. Every player around you will be able to see all markers on their map. It's a Coop-feature of Arma II and all survivors are in the same group. This is unrealistic and bad for DayZ but that's how it is. They don't need to kill you or get your map....

As mentioned in the first post: Fort Friendly is no longer supported by Steins, me and some other guys. We are creating a new place that'll hopefully work better at another spot and another server, including Teamspeak. We are doing this on europe server and Steins will create a new thread if everything is finished. Stay calm and please notice again: UK 7: Cherno - Fort Friendly is no longer under our protection! Whoever is there might be shooting you!

"of our group" we are no group. everybody can get into the fort if he got friendly intentions. we can't (and don't want to) control what everybody in the fort is doing. there are always black sheep

Yeaaaaaaa don't think so.... At least hackers are not able to spawn "hills" or any terrain objects. And turning people into cows is also not very likely. About the other things: Damn

You can find food everywhere. It's random... but.. if it's your 10th character and you have played about 2 hours then you got some other problems than just food xD

It is the post processing effects. Turning them off is mandatory for everyone who wants to enjoy this game :D

I agree it is a hard objective but it was fun as hell and you are right, too, that we might saved some survivors so they don't became bandits tonight ;D I really hope we can do this again from time to time. It is obvious that we are a great target for bandits and we most likely will get killed again and again, but it doesn't matter one bit. Good job guys!

I got a remmington with a flashlight but another guy, too. Love this gun :D Nobody needs help on top of a castle :) newly spawned people can get some support over at FortFriendly

Lowest settings are baaaaad. Don't run the game on lowest settings this will make it much worse. For example if you turn the video memory on low it'll not use all you available video memory but just a small part. Set it to default. There are a lot of guides for the settings out there. Try googling for DayZ video settings guide or something

As MadMax said there are only 2 reason for just blacking out (without bluescreen or stuff) and those are heat and energy. Check if all of your fans are working as intended and if the power adapter is not damaged in any way. -
Play Steam version without starting Steam

Well.. first of all you need the beta patch for arma in order to play dayz and it is not possible to start the beta patch through steam (exept for adding it as a non-steam game) so it is the exact opposite of what you said^^. I'd recommend to start the beta patch even if you are not playing DayZ but the original game because it removes some serious bugs.
