US 366 Chicago, banned during gunfight.
AADiC replied to katt's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
The problem is, the current rule set favors people like you. People like you = cheaters/hackers/scripters/exploiters, people who ruin the fun of the game by, in your case combat logging. Temp ban is warranted. -
The thing is, it is your responsibility to prove he was hacking/scripting, not his. Edit: problem solved.
-
All you need to do is to check the logs, find the entry that shows he spawned them and everything will be fine. If you can't do this then you need to remove the ban.

Banned from LU350/DE398 for "cheat suspected"
AADiC replied to snakedad's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
The Admin needs to come here and present his proof of wrongdoing. I would give it a day or so and if he doesn't, open a ticket with the staff. Might want and see if there is contact info in the server description. -
I will gladly say Great job, it was a great Operation, and you caught them/us with our pants down. LIke i said to Fengshen, no hard feelings what so ever from me :)

The intent of the current rule set is understood. Problem is, saying that you have to come up with concrete proof BEFORE you ban someone (temp or perm) is an issue (as evident by the numerous threads on how the rules need to be revised). Telling the SA's that they have to allow disruptive behavior to continue while they spend time reviewing logs is asinine. Even though I know no one will believe me, if the ambush incident happened to a different group, on a different server I would still say: "It is very believable that they thought that someone was teleporting to them, and killing them, a server restart is valid, and after the SA determines who was out at the location, a temp ban to further investigate is warranted" I wasn't there, I watched the video, you guys performed an excellent ambush, I think it is awesome and welcome this type of game play, as does Rocket. You stated that your whole motivation for this was that we go to Cherno/Electro and kill folks. This is just a guesstimate, but I would say that thousands and thousands of players do that. Hell, watch some of the top viewed Twitch TV streamers and you will see that is what they do. Is it right/wrong, that is your personal opinion, and neither answer is right or wrong. Kodabar stated in a different thread he had someone in the Clan feeding him information, Xerpt's named was dropped by someone, don't remember who. That is the extent of my knowledge on who the spy was. In a case where I am in game, and someone is doing something suspicious or outright hacking/cheating (to include combat logging or ghosting), they will be removed (a kick), if they return and continue, a temp ban to take the time to look over the situation and determine to the best of my ability if it is legit behavior or not. If it is, the temp ban will be removed, if I feel that the behavior is not legit the ban will stick and they can appeal. Like I said, I think your Operation was awesome, you completed caught them/us with our pants down and spanked away! Sure makes the game more interesting. I have no hard feelings what so ever towards you or anyone that was involved.

Look, if you feel so wronged and that the admin abuse was so grievous that you think we should be blacklisted, file the ticket.

Server was NEVER shut down, restarted yes. So the majority of your newest complaint is invalid. What's mind-blowing is that you are still championing a cause that the people who were caught up in it are not perusing. If you want to believe that the DayZ Staff/Dev's are going to blacklist us, then keep on believing. If they even look at this, here is what they will see. A group of people were ambushed in the middle of nowhere. The group is freaked out, "How did they know we were here" Possible players teleporting to our location. Server restarted x2, logs checked, a few individuals fit that description, temp bans handed out. After further investigation, it was found that someone had infiltrated the group, gave away the position, and others ambushed. The bans were removed, according to the Admin that was there within 5 -10 minutes. At this point they will move on to the next complaint that has been filed against a SA. So, in the end, the server will still be here, and you will continue to interject yourself into situations that do not concern you in any way, shape or form.

DE 969 Admin BattleEye ban abuse
AADiC replied to William T. Farley's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Perl, some advice for a fellow SA: Post the logs showing the short period of time that they were on. This will show that they are no legit acquiring so many vehicles in such a short period of time. You, not the player are assumed to be the bad person here, as can be seen by Viiking's post. The forum community only reads what they want to in the post and skips the rest, as Viiking did. -
Exact Name: DayZ - US 1023 Midwest (v1.7.2.4/Beta 95417) [Regular 3DP:1 CH:1] dayzmod.com - hosted by US 1023 Elysium Maybe a typo, but that is the name of the server.

Global ban (NOT AN APPEAL) or complaint
AADiC replied to PotatoChip's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Sorry, I was referring to banning "for life". I do not see how that is possible, I can change my ip as many times as I need to. That is why I don't see how it's possible. -
Global ban (NOT AN APPEAL) or complaint
AADiC replied to PotatoChip's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Can someone explain to me how someone can be Perm Banned, because I don't see how it is possible, thx. -
I guess we will just take our chances then. Being told that we have to allow someone to create havoc on our server as long as they like, and not remove them is crazy. I think they (Devs) understand that, just cant understand why they seem to not care. BTW, love the quote in your Sig :)
-
To answer your 2nd question, yes it is against the current rule set
-
We understand the rules. Problem is, that we are not going to allow a hacker to run wild on the server while we spend time combing through logs to make the determination. In this instance, it was shown that they indeed were legit in less than 30 minutes and the bans removed, TBH I don't see the great harm that was done. The current rule set is not functional for anyone other than hackers/cheaters, as evident by the numerous posts asking/begging the Dev's to revise them.
-
Well good luck with that, looking forward to seeing you posting in every other "admin abuse" thread to further your crusade against us evil, evil admins :)
-
Curious, have you submitted tickets against all the "abusive admins" you have read about in these forums?
-
Exactly, you have no response. Far from mad at anything, in fact I think they performed an excellent Operation, kudos to them. I don't see them on here screaming for justice and urging everyone to file a Admin Abuse ticket.
-
I know I said I was done responding to you but this has to be said. Who Alt-F4'ed. It's completely believable that a group of players out in the middle of nowhere all the sudden get ambushed, think someone tp'ed to their location. They restart the server, to try and determine wth is going on. See my second statement, and add now the players that are suspected of tp'ing are removed until things can be verified or disproven. In this case it was disproven, and the bans removed within 30 minutes. Now on to your insistence that EVERYONE file a ticket on the matter. NOTHING happened to you, NOTHING happened to everyone. The only people that should be filing any tickets should be the people who were involved. Why is that such a hard concept for you to understand?
-
OMGZ move it now, we can't lose those!!!
-
Kodabar, if your response is to me, save your breath, you are on ignore. Ballzfernando, it must be nice living in your world were everyone does the right thing the first time. It does matter that it was resolved, because that means that an error was made, and it was corrected, that is how things happen in the real world everyday. If people were given the highest level punishment the first time they did something wrong, that's just asinine. I didn't make anyone look bad. Repeating myself, AGAIN, if it is determined that James (I think that is who was banned) was banned unfairly, it will be removed, problem solved. Since you keep harping on the fact that any mistake by a SA is not acceptable (an asinine thought), this will be my last response to you. PS. Just found out that the ban was removed yesterday. /thread
-
Ballzfernado, I believe you are the one screaming for the server in the other thread I mentioned to be blacklisted also, even though the situation was resolved. I would think that only person that was banned, then reinstated, would be the person that should be submitting a ticket for action against the server, makes sense. You seem to only be here to rage about abusive admins, and cause more issues in a situation that you have no stake in, make no sense. Anyways, it will be figured out and the appropriate action taken. You still haven't answered my question on what abusive action was taken against YOU that caused YOU to submit a ticket?

"Did anyone in this thread hack or do anything worthy of a ban" According to the Admin yes, as stated a few times already. The logs are available to the Staff/Dev's for review. "Should the server come offline due to hackers" Yes, it should have been RESTARTED because the Admin felt there was a hacker on the server. "Did the Admin's die, shut down the server, and ban people" Yes, I believe the Admin did die. Yes the server was restarted (because the Admin felt there was a hacker in it). Yes, the suspected hacker was banned, logs checked and determined that something strange in fact was going on. You act like restarting the server restart was so that they could retrieve their gear, which can't be done. As I stated in my prior post, if it is determined that the person was banned unjustly, the ban will be removed. People like you who think that the world is perfect and people get "it" right the first time amaze me
-
As I said I wasn't there. I saw the forum thread, hopped on TS asked what happened. The Admin who was there wasn't online so I couldn't talk to him. So what "evidence" he has on the person that was banned, I do not know. He did post in this thread though about the situation and stated that the logs showed something and that they would be available for review by the DayZ staff. Concerning "OMG it must be a hacker cause....." I would venture to say that with the current state/amount of "hacking" in this game, if something looks fishy or something out of the ordinary happens, a majority of SA's will believe they are being hacked first, sad state of the game, but true. There is another thread in here about someone who was banned for either "combat logging" or "ghosting". They came here, told their story, the SA looked into it and his ban was removed. The process might not be perfect, but it worked, and in this case, if it turns out that a mistake was made, the ban will be reversed. As far as being blacklisted, if it happens, it happens, no fucks will be given, by me at least.
-
Only one person was banned, and according to the Admin that was on there is something suspicious in the logs. He has already said that they are available for review. On to your “ticket”. What exactly happened to you on the server, how were your rights abused? You’re right, they got us good. Would love to see this happen more often in the game, adds a little something to the gameplay So let me know what happened to you, so it can be looked into.
