Aerial vehicles confirmed by Devs by end of year. Oh wait....sorrry, this post was from 2015. My bad.

Whiner OP back. Orlok, you're a good guy. I thought your first post in this thread was out of line and I stand by that but your posts are well thought. I think my biggest issue with all of this development is not that "MY GAME AIN'T DONE YET", and more of a reflection of what has been actually accomplished over the last 6 years. What do you guys see as the big differences in the game since the mod? Honestly, all I see is the new engine and some inventory improvements. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the new engine. It's awesome. A six year excuse for not getting into beta? No. Inventory is better....better...not great. Melee sucks donkey balls. It's not BI's thing, I get that. God bless them, they're working on it and it's still terrible. Guys, games perfected melee combat and inventory management years and years ago and BI is making seem like they are having to invent warp engine drive technology. It's pretty sad. Sorry, but true. But new towns! But a new animation for when you're prone and roll to one side! But they added cowboy hats! But, but they added hiking trails! But they added handcuffs! Seriously? Again, sorry, but just seems like they've spent 5 of those 6 years piddling away on useless crap that doesn't actually move the needle closer to where this game was originally envisioned to be. So what was the original vision? Well, I know one thing for sure. Sure as hell wasn't spending time on more money grab crap like Xbox versions before the PC beta is even out! If that isn't telling, I don't know what is. I'm pretty sure the original vision had zombie AI that actually worked. That would be one thing that should maybe be worked. Oh. They fixed ladders. One thing got done in 6 years.

Dude, this is absolute BS. I've been around the block before and I've heard all the standard "fanboi" crap before. "Hey, this is a TRIPLE AAA GAME AND IT TAKES 5 YEARS!!!". Apparently, you're in the excuses business so you know what I mean. There are two games right now that define the entire business model. 1 - Kickstarters - Star Citizen. Holy Shit, guess what? I'm an original KS for this one too!! Whole other topic. Let's not get distracted. 2 - Early Access - DAYZ. Holds the record. I might be wrong.....Google me here but I think I'm right...The longest game ever to be in EARLY ACCESS. I said in my original post I paid my Early Access $30 ON DAY ONE. So I'm a supporter, apparently one you warn against even buying this game. I guess because I funded Bohemia on day one I'm just a worthless casual player? I'm just confused. Should I not have bought this game? Am I not a supporter and by your statement shouldn't have even bought this game? You're kinda pissing me off here. So, I'm a nobody who knows nothing and I shouldn't have even bought the game? You have a really fancy title as "DAYZ FORUM TEAM" so please do explain.

I'd be happy to exchange math credentials with you. I'm fairly comfortable my "maths" is solid. Anyway. I guess I didn't state the timeline clear enough. It was the fall of '12 when Dean took the mod off-line and said he was going to use Steam Early Access to fix it. I mean, I could attach some calculators for this and stuff but I am pretty sure fall of '12 was six years ago. So, fall of '12 Dean said he was going to fix this and give it to us by "End of Year" (2012) and well I've already said everything else. In Dec '13 I was paying $30 for Early Access and here I am in fall of '18 with promises of MAYBE beta before end of this year. Guess we shall see. Oh, and I read the Dev Report every single time they release every two weeks. Glad to see they are working on real issues like what night time looks like!!!!

Six years since Dean told us he just needed $15 and three months to fix some net code. Anyone else remember that? When we just wanted a stand-alone mod of Arma2? Dean promised us that. He said he was going to take it to Steam and charge us $15. All he wanted to do was to fix the net code and he promised us he wouldn't charge us any more than $15. Yeah, it's 6 years and $30 later and we still have a game in early access. Remember the beta plan they put out in 2015? Remember this time last year when beta was going to be by end of 2017? Are things better than they were in 2013? Yeah! Great! Not my point. So glad we're developing tech for Arma IV. I played the mod. I paid my $30 on day one. I'm not a hater. I'm just getting a little tired.

Also, I've been at 4900+ health for over an hour and have not recovered a single point of blood. Also, I realize there are blood and saline bags in the game but I play alone and those aren't an option.
-
I've been playing around on Experimental and one thing I have noticed is that I am not naturally regaining blood. Experimental is nice in that they give you the little status window so I can see my blood is not recharging regardless of time. I am not hungry or thirsty and am not injured. I thought you were supposed to regain blood slowly over time? Is this an experimental thing? Just a thing on this particular build? I was wondering if anyone knew.

What I remember is about 4 years ago Dean telling us he'd have us a $15 Alpha by Dec 2012. He was just supposed to fix the net code and basically give us a hack-free version of the mod. Fast forward 18 months to Dec '13 and we finally got a completely worthless $30 Early Access. I logged 100's of hours onto the mod. Between Dec '13 and 0.60 I think my Steam account said I had played 16 hours. Until 0.60, this whole things had been a complete train wreck. Now, I will give credit where it's due. 0.60 is playable and made huge strides forward. That said, however, I agree with most here.

The Current State Of Development - DayZ - Understanding the Development Process
Raible replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
I see how people can get all defensive about a game they enjoy. They're more apt to forgive things. I just have one question. How long does this game have to stay in "Early Access Alpha" before even you start to question what's going on? -
Okay, my turn to complain about stable branch updates.

I think you need to be a little more realistic about the differences between stable and experimental. You are seriously trying to tell me there's make-or-break additions in there?
