    Hub Towns and Levels of Decay on Zombies

    Read some of the Q & A's a lot of this is covered in various questions Rocket has been asked, particularly NPC areas and events, But remember groups and clans already do this on some servers. Limitation comes in when / if you have the resourses. Q: Have you thought of NPC territories? (Think Metro 2033 hubs in the tunnels) Personally I'd love there to be a corner of the map where survivor NPCs of remaining society don't shoot people with hero skins, but shoot everyone else on sight (having much better sight overall). This would allow a more risk/reward of being a bandit and also allow for multiple bandits to raid said settlement.Will DayZ itself be available to change via community addons? (similar to minecraft and bukkit) Lastly... How much bug-testing will be put into work on the standalone? A: NPC is both a performance issue and also a design issue. I think I want the game to focus as much as possible on supporting player interactions. Bug testing will be conducted mostly by the community. and 46. Q: Will you enable player to become infected with zombie virus, and to infect others? [Xiroth] A: With the zombie virus, no, players are immune (the "zombie virus" concept in game is being developed by my brother Dr Richard Hall, a virologist). I saw in an interview Rocket mentioned something about the infected decay rate also and their life span / abilities etc.

    Diving is in Arma 3, there are videos of this with their promotional material out there. I don't know the abilities of the SA engine to know if this is possible with the SA. Problem I see is Players with gear would not be able to dive due to boyancy and heavy kit loadouts, I don't think even 1% of players are killed this way. I don't see the point, even if they did introduce it into the game. I can't see submarines of any activity under water being introduced into a Zombie apocalypse simulator unless someone released a Waterworld inspired map (Lets be honest, It would sink faster than the film) It would be nice to be able to hide in ponds and then pop up and kill other enemys though, A la Rambo style.

  5. Hat's off to you sir, I have never known of a Deaf player( In DayZ). I like your apporoach to life by not letting it get you down. DayZ since being opened up to the community has many servers in which Chat has been re-openned. Perhaps you could find a server which is friendlier to your needs in this respect? I enjoy Having this ability back. I think all game publishers and Developers strive to make issues as your's as much as possible. Wether via subtitles or a simple shows sound directional display (You will have seen them in many other games) this may give an unfair advantage but allows players in general to locate events in an acceptable range. It could be introduced into games as a standard but activated by a Game > option > on/off command (Default off). this would allow other players deaf, tinitis etc the ability to play to a certain degree. Imagine if you will the recent changes to DayZ's debug monitor, You can play now with all / any icons on or off. (Its been so long I've played without it I don't recall if the ear indicator is actually affected by local sounds?!?) Are there some servers out there with tracers on? this could help you with directional pin pointing potential enemys. Do you play with headphones may i ask? Is there an issue with them interferring with your hearing device? Could you simply not turn them up for vibratory / auditory effect? One ear is better than nothing. Failing that there are groups out there and tools for similar problems, perhaps a server run by other people wivh deafness could come together. or perhaps use a tool along with other players? http://www.deafgamers.net/ is one of the best sites i know of (I used to teach phys ed ( P.E. in U.K) A lot of my students were deaf as well as physically diasabled and we played games together even though i do not suffer from any issues. there are groups out there and I dare say players on this forum also who have hearing difficulties. Asking is usually the first step perhaps you could post in the general forum, You may be surprised. Other than that perhaps Rocket could eventually impliment something specifically for Deaf players, It would be wise as in this day and age as all the COD kiddies no doubt have huge banging bass driven headphones, they may need a helping hand down the road ;) . In fact I wonder what Rockets thoughts are on this issue due to all the recent touring and conversations he has had with the gaming community. Edit: are here are chat programs out there where you can fix them on your screen on top of your game of choice? Good luck and I hope you found the link helpfull.

    I have had the best time in game with flares and Chem lights, add's a dimension of unreal terror when you get chased by abunch of screaming zeds. Getting seperated from your mates in the dark is hilarious too. Flares going off in all directions and each of you wondering where you all are. When I am raiding camps i dump NVG's in ponds. Duping is a shame and should not be allowed to continue.

    NEW DayZ Fallujah Map Released!

    Is this the case again with loot, when you run, You don't get spawn triggers? But when you walk, a normal spawn? Vehicles can alter this also, driving too fast into a spawn point won't spawn stuff? You gotta then run away and go back for spawns. I got this all the time on maps, Zeds are a give away too when spawns trigger. From a conversion POV all them buildings and its gonna take time to set up spawns for gear and stuff. I would expect all millitary buildings to spawn regardless. Out of interest, what are the other 13 maps? anyone have a clue? Waiting for DayZ Commander for this, so the community can catch up.

    Do you have a smart phone? DayZ has an app!! I use the map on this for new maps like takistan etc using my phone internet If the app is no updated.

When the zeds run inside buildings I will laugh my arse off (Rocket has done this already, all he had to do was change a building parameter) When it will be introduced I don't know, we will seperate the men from the boys. Imagine running inside a Red House and they run in not giving you any quater. Add this to the 7/10 scary factor he wants to improve, Zeds will be a new threat all over again. What I like is roaming Zeds, this will offer a false sense of safety even for the piss drinking survivalists hiding in the woods. Chopper sites will no longer be an easy way to get gear. and Aggroing zeds will scar players for life.

    Does Rocket know?

    Have you tried playing on other maps, they put vehicles to good use. Yes they can be spawned in certain places but finding them is half the fun IMO. I'm sure Rocket knows the state of his Mod, or he wouldn't be trying to improve it for us. there are enough threads about what his plans are and loads of Q & A's on what he wants to do about it.

  18. I think more than 2 hits to a zed is pointless, there are many weapons in DayZ as it is. Anything needing more than 2 hits would suggest your being half arsed about a flesh eating mofo trying to eat my cock off.

  20. I hope admin, continue to host DayZ, there maybe a few bad apples but on the whole there are some undeniable great servers out there. Some of the new stuff utilised has made the hacker issue less of a threat to common gamers and for that I am greatfull. I would love to host a DayZ server, But I would sooner have the option to host it and play at the same time from my P.C with only a few reliable people I know. (that is what DayZ is for me a Zombie apocalyps experience) Well at least there won't be a WarZ model for servers where you can buy one in game. WarZ's model makes my head spin. Buy essential stuff and then pay for the server too?!?!?!?     After reading the Q & A's http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/72533-the-reddit-questions-answers-updated-with-the-228-qas/ I believe the game will be slimmed down for the SA. perhaps the slimming down will allow the game to be ported over to consoles much more easily. Rocket mentioned there are elements that couldn't be implimented because of the Arma 2 engine issues and restrictions. With the SA these hurdles could be resolved. After reading this, I can see a way for things to happen for consoles but only after a good re-boot of DayZ in the SA. and I would love to know who Rocket spoke to at Gamescon with regards to the console idea.

    Favorite DayZ map?

    Lingor, reminds me of Vietnam gameplay in certain areas. Takistan, because it remind me of Afghanistans tribal belt. Chernaurus, because it is home. Waiting patiently for Fallujah footage, as it is pretty big, the distance from town to the airfield seems a fucking long way without a vehicle.
