When the SA has more Zeds in then the mod normal, worrying about aggro range will seem like a distant memory. When on E&E exercises you are on high alert mode all the time and not just worrying about distances from threats, you don't always know how alert the hunter force is, so you don't take risks by running around in open fields! The fact you have caused aggro means you were seen, which is a players own fault.

Yes i agree, make it harder to refuel or at least have the correct provisions at air fields. If they use the controls from TOH then the fuel will be the last of your worries! Perhaps a fuel truck which was on route prior to the spread of the infection, could be located randomly on the map, giving it a logical need and something to fight / trade over! This would limit the use of choppers and would be realistic. If I was in a survival point and knew the location of a chopper, it would be a hub of activity, a survivor area with the correct facilities to fuel said chopper. -
No, I think having an ending in this game is not beneficial to the overall situation. Being in an apocalypse would be survival of the fittest not survive to find a cure. Your aim is too much like most other games on the market and DayZ offers a sandbox environment in which to play which is different and let's face it a game which is so open does not need restrictive endings. The ending you suggest is a reason not to do it, what would be your next step? Cure each and everyone of the infected? Now if they released a single player version or even a training scenario, then your idea would be valid. Perhaps a new map could incorporate this idea but a mod would have to be done for timings and scripting. I can also see it as a multiplayer game mode " capture the cure " remember the spawn rates of zombies also are limited so the lab / research centre would not have mass crowds of infected. The more you have the slower you FPS.

Anyone not playing Chernarus until SA?

In anticipation for the new Chernarus Plus map? I was wondering if anyone else isn't playing the old map because of the impending SA release? For me I know Chernarus was becoming a bit stale due to the amount of time I was spending on it (My own fault, i know) With all the pictures of new buildings and new interiors, extended map , more towns and places I find myself not wanting to play the "OLD" Chernarus as much as I used to. Even with the mention of more Zed's I can barely imagine any space in the supposedly major towns Cherno and Electro. I know i will probably play both MOD and SA, but it raised the question of wondering, will the new C+ map be available on the MOD? The new engine and new features will undoubtedly mean it can only work on the SA! As I'm sure some of you thought certain new features would make a jump over to the MOD offering a similar experience without the additional albeit lower cost. So there will be a rather big divide on both MOD and SA due to the differences of the engine. As the SA progresses the MOD must go in a totally different direction based on limitations. I for one will welcome the two diverging titles, One for its community content and the other for its official zeal and imagining. Your thoughts? -

Buy both, I've had DayZ almost from go, I have had so much fun it doesn't warrant thinking about. When the SA comes out, the MOD will go in a separate direction, these forums are going to be very interesting. One group commenting on things the other side don't have access to. Then the non mod owners will be buying ARMA 2 all over, because the mod owners will be inundated with more stuff (a community vs 1 team are going to be more productive) existing mods added towards the dayz mod, take your pick, it will happen! -
Isn't team speak a separate program from dayz? How do you expect to remove the use of it? Ask nicely?

Tomahawk cruise missiles? I don't think they will catch on! But then again someone might suggest they be shot out of the m203! I wonder if there will be some smaller ships in the docks of the coast! I can see me calling a barge a home. Would be a waste of detail if not. -
