Hmm, sound like a bug, what map? are you using any other DayZ variant, are you updated (Map, patch, mod etc) I've had it before but my suggestion fixed it. Can't offer any more, sorry.

I said in a post a while back there would be confusion, there needs to be more than just a thread. Some poor sods are going to be in a bad place with the wrong information. If there is one out there with the wrong info, there will be others.

Possible new buildings; serving more purpose.(Standalone)

Great logical Ideas. How about basements? and Attics? I have seen concept art for a basment but no in game screenshots yet. What better kind of base than a basement which needs only basic items in the way to hide it? I would like to see also the ability of moving items in houses. All the new screens' show tables, beds and cupboards, it would be nice to be able to move them. -
So we know there will be roaming zombies in game, so in effect nowhere is safe now. You might not be safe now hidden away up north in the woods. Q: How are zombie spawns going to work? A: We're probably going to spawn all zombies + loot at the start of the mission on the server to decrease lagspikes and to remove the spawning issues we had. This also allows the potential for the whole "roving zombie" crap people keep harping on to me about (seriously, I get facebooked every day with this one request). What counter measures will you employ to get rid of them? Will you use them to lure people out or into enemy camps? If rocket fixes the bush / tree hide trick, there will be nowhere to hide. source: Q: Are we going to be able to hide from zombies in trees and bushes? *Here comes a swarm of zombies, I'll just sit in this bush until they give up.* A: Yes. Although for a few months expect these new mechanics to spontaneously break and hilarity ensue

I always hated the inside building detection, I hope with new loot searching (Individual items in drawers, under beds etc) we don't eaily aggro zeds, new buildings are great and all but being able to do it with out super zombie hearing would be nice. How many times have you gone into a building and a zed comes running in or stands outside just raRWARWAing. Another thing, when jumping in to a game, and the zeds are roaming around, I hope when i pop into a server I don't land right smack bang into a new dead body, Unless killed via PVP, there will still be zeds there, so even then the coast will not be as safe as before.

these aren't the droids you looking for, when the Mods go quiet, you will know there is something wrong. In fact past few weeks I have seen more mod activity than ever before, Makes you wonder if they have been selected for testing or something :P

My last post raised a question for me, Will the buggers be able to climb up ladders? this pissed me off no end in the mod. I would like them to be fast but docile in a sense when it comes to climbing. Fair enough the higher you are the more observable you are. I'd love also the ability for our characters to climb up on sheds and onto roof's, the coast line (Or alternative spawn points) will look mighty funny, new spawns everywhere trying to escape. Lots of waving people looking for help.

New Zombies giving chase, running in buildings, and now bushes and trees won't save you. It's deffinately going to be much harder for players trying to escape the zombies. I cannot wait.

Welcome to the forums. So what are the benefits of Human Interaction? why have this over Humanity? Why Softly "force"? I might not want to one day, perhaps i like lone wolf gameplay, I don't want to sit and chat with other players? -
I wonder if climbing trees will be incorporated. Bambies hiding up trees everywhere. zombies at the base waiting. I will laugh my head off.

Long runs are more entertaining and helps with exploration. FOV is crap in FP, useless even. though I do agree limitations need to be in place for corners and building proximity.. -

Impatience is a bugger with this game, but from all the time i have spent with the Mod, a few fixes to mod issues (Zombie pathing etc) would make the game better 100 fold. If i have played over 400 hours wivh the Mod, I am scared to think about the SA. I can look at the market and see no similar games out there nowhere near the ambition nor complexity or even fun as DayZ. certainly none good enough to miss any boat over. rocket has been up front and direct, shared his vision, and we can see the fruits, there are no other Captains out there who do this (Bar a few greenlighters) Seriously there are no other boats in the harbour IMO. -

Look at the vid posted above, snow maps, snow gear, and Zombies. What is not to like? the fact the weapons are periodic and vehicle and such. there Plenty more hours for DayZ to be had. WWII and zombies? Fun times ahead. -
Standalone Idea: Base building/entrances.

Some features like underground bases are going to take a while, they are going to take a lot of time and effort, Some of which might break the engine the SA is built on. My opinion is to create from scratch what is needed as opposed to what is out there. If the new engine is being designed from the ground up, then the previous methods are limived to what can be used, particularly from earlier mods and projects. As long as access can be gotten from all players with the right tools, all bases should be accessable for all players, after death or during play. this will make for some interesting play. I can only dream of the new engines capabilities as we have nothing really concrete to work from (If engine was released the community would jump and play) Perhaps in time we can get a deeper look into it. In the ShannonZKiller interview rocket said: "There is no doubt in my mind we will see new worlds, personally this is what I would like to see. I would like to see a world with a large city in the middle of it surrounded by woods and mountains with natural barriers to it and it would be a western city, that to me is the next Dayz map I would like to see, but I also want to see some community maps ported over for the early DayZ" So my question is which city could this be? I'm sure he had a specific city in mind when he said this. Do those who know rocket know of any particular place fitting the description?

On new map creation............. I think a small select community team, all designing Assets is a great idea. Once SA is out and major features are intergrated there is nothing stopping people with engine access from designing new Items (It is understood its a no-no at the moment for exploit detection). Providing all involved would be sincere enough and honest and a similar goal working towards the SA, the task could be very much quicker. new maps, new ways to play (Not even considering new mechanics some may wish to design) New payable add-ons would be easier and prolong the life of the game. Keeping us happy and a voluntary work force who love to do what they do. the only limitations are the engine limitations. DayZ has a great (for the most part) community who support and follow he game for it to fail, think of the possibilities) Lets be fair, rocket can go mountain climbing and enjoying his success while also being able to concentrate on his other ideas, with a team like Matt and the Mod's here and the other media sites, what's to lose for proffesional opinion and talent? there will always be someone at the helm for control and a system for updating with steam would allow easy access for new content. (Steam will benefit big time, forget the competition) BIS would benefit greatly commercially but this year the onus is on the SA, which is going to make a killing there will be awards and good things said about from all angles, next year there will be add-ons and probably more things which will ensure DayZ does not fall by the way side like so many before it. More importantly we, the consumersa and fans will have more content and what more could we ask for? As long as our impatient fans realise time is our only down side, we're onto a winner. -

But that will be fun. I remember when zeds saw you and never gave up untill you killed them or lost them in a building. I remember crawling everywhere to hide from them, before they became useless and everyone ran around them like now. that will bring genuine heart racing back into the game.
