Yeah you'll get better performance if you interface resolution is same as your 3d resolution (top right in #Sleepy's post) Also settings depend on your Graphics card so what works for one may not work for another.

Try a low ping server see if it affects you then. What server do you use? is it local or far, Update everything to latest updates, patch etc. Try DayZ Commander for updating everything.

I believe Rocket has stated many times he is in cohorts with his Brother for information and advise on the Infection element of the game. I believe he is going to introduce the info into the standalone at a later date, but more along the lines of story and background, Remember the standalone will be Alpha also, so there's more time to add or implement ideas. What you say is quite true but however I don't think this will be practical for DayZ. Any cure would be a commodity like Antibiotics are now, rare and hard to find. With the limited number of players allowed on a server at the mo, how many of them are going to prioritise a reliable vaccination / cure strategy? Not many, survival first and then survival second. Given the life expectancy of a player and the lack of facility the cure is a pipe dream. The standalone will have to have X amounts of update and implementations before they get to a possible cure / endgame, if indeed they ever do. It goes to say If you cure a player, you could cure the infected? DayZ would be pointless then (Different servers / Hives would be flooded with the cure unless (even if) it was a rare commodity / item) As far as players turning into the Infected I can't see the point.The player is immune to the virus so why would a bite affect him / her. If I die from a Zed its bcause there nothing much left of my body as I have been eaten (Not much left after that to walk around with) I find this would be pointless from a playing point all it does, as you said. is a spectator. This could be abused and like so many things would be, a lot.(I stated in a simliar post, If you were infected and got your legs shot you would crawl, how long do you think you would play / spectate after that?) and the resources for players on servers are for playing not spectating. (I do believe admin should have spectating for fair gameplay but this will be abused by some) Logical approach but with so many flaws as within regards for a Game. ;)

I do think choice is good for any game, allowing the players to play when and how they want, no need for limitations I play DayZ and as I didn't understand much from the first 2 post's I'll have to go with Meh! :P

Use your filter list in DayZ Commander and you'll have lists. DC has a type of indicator telling you what the majority use (version and beta number etc) I find if I'm updated to latest versions I can join pretty much any server whether they are highlighted I do not join through Steam either as i seem to get "no joins" all the time. My general start up goes: Start Dayz Commander. Use filter for map name. (Always check filter boxes in case I forgot what I typed last) Refresh server list. Find a server and Join. (Exception being if I join a regular server say "rezzed" i just type name in) hasn't let me down yet. I try a lot of different servers out. I like the challenge of starting from scratch approach as I get bored of being alive for long periods of time without a team to work with.

Barns, long and short but i tend to find them in far out ones as opposed to village or town ones, you know the ones on the outskirts of in the middle of nowhere. And on that point I found bear traps to be useless anyways what you using them for? base protection?

I find each loader can sometimes miss certain servers. I know this because I play on servers all the time and sometimes they don't show (I can find them with the in-game server list so I know it is running and not down for maint'), to be sure find a server address and use that. But I use DayZ Commander as the filters in DayZ Commander usually finds a server for my friends to join up with me, and to boot you can update everything with DC so that's an added bonus!

I found if i played on low ping, low pop, and anything other than Utes the waiting is down to 5 mins. If I try Utes then all times are out of the window big time. I join a regular server, and depending on the time of day and pop it can change all the time. and that's with 100mb net (Virgin) Edit: cheers Boneboys good test.

What about private servers? not as much hacker (Sript kiddies) shit goes off there (Haven't had a hacker for a while and that was teleport) Try low pop servers or join a clan with a passworded one, no need to uninstall because of hacking, you can still enjoy the Mod. If people give in to hackers, whats the point of having a P.C? Fuck em, they are not spoiling my fun again I gave up on DayZ because of hackers but now with so much choice I play again every day. Lingor, Takistan, Chernarus and Utes, Hundreds of servers all over the world and Thousands of players can't all be wrong. More maps, more choice, less chance of hackers in one place

Way to be negative, New players will figure that out for themselves, but, I have only had 2 hacking encounters and as Dallas said low pop servers don't get hackers as much and are great for team play. With the private servers out there now with admin who monitor and the soon to be released standalone the hackers days are numbered. Welcome to DayZ T-Pag you did better than a lot of other players inc myself on a first go. Enjoy the DayZ universe.

Just an Idea, with all the interested players. Surely there is a server out there who can cater for us all? perhaps some of you have a private server? I'm positive as an older player i would be happy to contribute to a grown up and reliable server as would many others. This could go a long way to rid scriptkids and the likes ensuring us a safe server?

Kinda sucks really, the realism and point of the game is wasted on anyone who can't find their own gear. That's the problem with the majority of this generation who want everything now, thing is they forget you have to work for what you want. My advice is you go and play something else and stop ruining the game for those who like to simulate things, Please don't say you don't either, you would not of had that gear unless you found it the hard way. Everything you do after that point is null and pointless. Anyone who finds a hacked box should report it to admin, who can then look at logs of who has been there and ban them for cheating (to much time consuming?). I don't understand why DayZ players play DayZ if they only want good gear, go and play something that gives you the choice from the word go. (on a side note can't admin just block the script/code/item of the item box in the game? or a timed flushing of said items?) Very dissapointed at this type of gameplay as I'm sure others are.

I thought it was poo, Not enough item spawn areas and too many bullets flying around. There a starting spawn point the very end of the 2 islands is poo too, can't recall how many players camped at or near the light house. The chopper crashes are useless unless your there at start of server, I found I had to hatchet another player before I got any weapon. I won't be playing again but this is my opinion it may suit deathmatch players

Its usually near the top in the server list when you put Lingor in the filter on the actual game A2CO lists. I've played in there a few times and It has a great set of players (Except the silent non chatty ones - You know they are stone cold bean thieves)

It's bad enough crawling when you have a broken leg, zig zagging as a Zed won't help either. What happens if a player shoots your legs? you'll press the reset button faster. For eg, run like a zombie / infected (whatever technical nerds) and the controls will be all over the place, Nah! Just respawn and start over, I suppose you'll still be able to chat to your m8s over TS, Skype as well? "shit I was eaten, now I'm a zed, come take my stuff so i don't lose it! or "I'm coming for you, Imma eat your BRAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNSSSS" Dead is Dead, Apocalypse simulator. It could be a release as a special offer?! Anyway I'm immune from the Virus, I aint playing to be a Zed.

I use DayZ Commander, it save a list of all the servers I have played on (Through DC) Find this very helpful when I bumped into a great server.

Get DayZ commander downloaded and instal and run once you have run A2CO, Then update DC and youll be playing in no time. I'm U.K. based and we have a plentiful supply of servers to choose from! No issues with ping.
