I can't speak for this incident but on Chernarus I do this often, I find leaving bits and pieces around for new players helps sometimes, but I only leave them in places more experienced players wouldn't use (ie running along roads, Beaches) That way I guess the players would be new and lacking in knowledge etc. Truth of the matter is I steal this from Camps and love your QQ's when you find out. I would also advise new players to check all ponds nowadays due to Tents being hidden in them.

Ill be paying for the SA after the release, yes I'll buy it ASAP but i won't play it unless I know it's stable. I think many people will do the same. When (If) the game hits the Consoles then you'll see the lost income it makes then. We know were gonna buy an alpha game even with the SA, I'm going in eyes wide open, are you?

Just being positive but do you guys have any fears for the standlalone? dog's? hackers? content not added I'll start the ball rolling. Deffinition of a nightmare: the standalone is released and hackers find out how to hack it.

A persistant task would to be survive! What you gonna do in a apocalypse? Organize a 5 aside in the middle of Cherno? collect stamps? Sorry if that sounded twatty :P I have seen like most the figures drop drastically from Hackers, glitches, late updates and to positive things like private hives and more choice servers. Players will be back in their droves when the SA is released, Combine this with the console owners, BIG things for DayZ :D

Yes, hence the deffinition of a nightmare!! I understand each point you made, no naivety involved. My post was supposed to be about things that could go wrong or not to expectation, not embelishing comments from previous post's. Some of us do understand the way things work and I for one expect people to find loopholes and abuse it (Human nature) :P

I find side chat certainly has it's advantages.

Chernarus is the daddy, however after playing hundreds of hours on it it can get a little stale. I will be looking forward to Chernarus Plus (Bigger, more functional buildings, new areas) I play Lingor and Takistan in equal measure, I like how Lingor has a jungle feel to it, the way you play this changes the dynamics of the Mod for me. Takistan is a snipers heaven, and due to the open expanse of the gaming area this can also allow you to play a certain way. Utes is just pointless, If you want a deathmatch map, you could just go and play Arma 2. For me Variety is what is it all about. But seriously some maps or modifications should not be made for DayZ and further more some of the above mentioned maps already changed by Hoster's are just pointless. You'll see which ones when they state they have X amount of Vehicles in the server. if you wanted to play a vehicle based game then your rendering the need for Zeds pointless, again you may as well play Arma 2. I think people who do this are trying to add an element to the Mod but are straying from the DayZ concept. But that is the hoster's choice I suppose. You pays your moneys.............

I would like the standalone to have the choice of hosting the game for myself and a few m8s, It would have my brass either way.

Conserving ammo is good practice, Some of us have served with our countries and had to do this anyway. Why not just have this happen when you log out? Not before leaving the game / Mod, but it could be an action your character does when Your not playing. Your characver doesnt sleep either so Is it safe to assume you do this after you log? Auto ammo refil was removed (the mechanic is there) why not just delete a Magazine and have ammo organised? (Ammo count permitting)

Regarding the running into buildings and finding nothing. Have the spawn triggers been altered as i find if i crouch run in, theres always stuff there. But when i run in there is nothing. I tried experimenting with this and found out running into a place will more often than not spawn stuff. Its then i run away and back again to find decent stuff. Frustrating as hell when you go into a barracks. Being on a server by yourself is great, Just you and the apocalypse!

Basics first, Matches, knive and Hatchet. By any means, through towns, villages anywhere. Find a military barracks and loot for a decent weapon. Hide in the forests and destroy camps medic is asked for. Lingor is same but I'm a killer in the jungle. takistan is mix of chernarus but with more killing. Hunt and always be near a water source John Wiseman style.

Couldn't you just create a new profile? failing that pre prep a new character and then die with your old character. log back in as your new one and find your body, that way you don't lose kit (Assuming you don't want to lose it?)

Holier than thou springs to mind, My only issue is I don't want any religious cannotations my way, or in game. I have my faith and it serves me well but in a game? Want to regain humanity? do it like the mod allows, change your ways in game. no need to add extra function. You mean No Atheists in a Foxhole? Been there and winessed that, I did not look to a higher power, I looked to my training.

Well I hope the background story Reveals the reason why your character spawns on the beach in the first place. I always played with the assumption my character was washed up due to falling overboard a last evacuation ship or similar. this could explain the lack of items. having a pistol on start takes so much from the game / Mod.

I suppose OP will want to bag it up too, so dog's cannot locate his position? Perhaps you can look at it this way, when you log off your character does all the stuff you like like personal hygene, like pooing and bum rapeing cows. there was another post where i mentioned pissing and shitting into ponds and thereby infecting all other players who use it for water. LoL, could you imagine Rocket and Co actually working on the animations for the standalone, I'd like to be a fly on that wall (Or turd as it may be)

Good question really, I suppose they are immune? But ask yourself, would you want a cow or goat running like a Zed? DayZ would be like Loony tunes.

Sorry but i read someone was working on this for DayZ. Something to do with npc's not being able to enter buildings? Any more news on this?
