  2. OK folks, US 716 was shut down due to the owner not renewing. I was never made aware of this and was not able to let people know in advance, im sorry for that. I have tried a number of times to get in touch with previous owner, but to no avail, so it will either go back into circulation at some point or if someone wishes to take account over, currently at $25 a month please get intouch with me on the forums at www.arma2dayz.com ASAP
  3. Hi there, its west coast Seattle. Have been intouch with the hosting company and despite the server been inactive for a few weeks because of none payment , they are still asking me to get consent from previous owner!? cant get my head around that one. I hope there not expecting myself or someone else to dirtily pick up the tab over the last 2 weeks! Will find out more. Still trying to get hold of past owner, hes quit elusive at moment
  4. I had heard rumours but was never sure, I could understand why they may have used the server though as i spent 7 days a week 6 hrs a night ad-mining the scripts to make sure the game players experience wasnt ruined

    from what i figure at the moment sounds like its a scripts.txt file bug, maybe try reverting to the previous script and see if that works (as a guess)

  7. umm, i think not,go and spend the hundreds of hours as i have spent, researching and talking directly to data centres all over the world. Would be bad business sense giving away all my hard earned contacts wouldnt it!? and judging by your immaturity in how you respond to people i dont think you have the age, maturity or IQ to handle such a task in any case! so might as well move on son! and take a chill pill!
  8. Yes it is, it was when the specials came out. Its been a very reliable server as far as uptime goes, and reached 66th place out of over 4000 servers at its peek before renewal wasnt activated. someone will need to respond quickly before it becomes defunct and sent back into circulation.

I persume it will depend on each host and there deals with the data centres, but from what i understand even when the standalone comes out the mod itself will still continue, yes people can switch and change, and there is software that can allow for accounts to change and fill spots. So no its not a major issue unless you are updating each game instance individually which is a big headache if you are running large number of servers and accounts. But as emphasised, there are software apps the do this in an automated fasion.

Im sorry rogue1, you might have wanted to come up with some evidence rather than speculate and defame!, i have looked around myself and can safely say i could purchase dedicated servers for half the amount you quoted! Yes most servers will only host about 4 game instances per server, this is not so much to hardware issues but bandwidth limitations, if you do you research (as i have!) and get in touch with the data centres directly (as i have) it is possibly to do! As at the moment i am working a deal that will incorporate a 8 core at 3.4, 16 gig ram, 10gps ports up/down!! for about the same price as quoted above, to say it cant happen is irresponsible. But with enough work, patience and communication with certain data centres it is entirely possible to create affordable game hosting without overloading and paying its way, some even sponsor to have there name advertised on the hosting site, there are many ways to get data centre deals you just have to know what you are doing!. Its generally called extensive research!

  13. I cant remember if it was in these forums but am pretty sure.I cant find the link, I heard the as50 tws doesnt save to hive as from 1.7.2.3 or 1.5. Can a dev please confirm this or not, Thanks.

However as it may seem simple to you the reason for post was due to miss information posted, so as simple as it seems to you i do not have the understanding of all the scripts the hive allows, so from a clients point of view, it is not so simple, hence the question!   17. well, personally im not 100% sure, but what i am sure of is that in one of the recent patches in the changelog it stated "Fixed: Alt+4 game crash" Make of it what you will but they seemed to fix a bug that caused the game to crash when alt 4ing, go figure! lol personally i reckon anyone doing this should be given a permanent glowing/flashing care-bear skin!

    its actually pretty easy to implement , i play another mod that uses fishing (with pole/with pole on boat-or boat can auto fish in area) also farming wheat that can be processed into burgers to sell to make in game cash, i think an in game market system is workable as this would change the game play away from everyone just trying to kill each other to a game where goods are collected for personal use or to trade, Therefore extending the end game into multiple scenarios, i feel it would implement a more realistic role play to the sim, buts that's just my thoughts

    There are mods that have fishing, ie if by water you can cast, takes a few seconds to fish , not all casts catch fish, same as from boat, there are 2 ways to fish either as a rod cast or the boat moving around a fishing area, both have been done and are currently being used in other mods, would be good to see an underground market role play to this game, ie, fishing, farming etc, but might be a bit much, i dont know, but all are used in other mods
